DɆMØN/18 - NØTHING.

Shu laid in the laboratory, breathing heavily. A small plate then approached in front of his mouth. On the plate it looked to be a thick beige rectangle and next to it a pingpong sized white ball. Shu grabbed the beige rectangle with his teeth, forcing it in his mouth with his tongue. He began to chew it. It was a bitter taste. Suddenly, what looked like blood would start spilling out the side of Shu’s mouth. Shu’s eyes widened as he spit it out back onto the plate. He stood up quickly. He glared at the plate in disgust.

“That was…” Shu said under his breath.

“Correct… That is human flesh…” The old demon scientist said, walking into the room. Shu glared at the old man.

“So then that other thing is…?” Shu asked. The old man nodded,

“You’re correct… We painted it white to make it less obvious…” The old man said. He then handed Shu a can of Tuna and a small wooden spoon.

“You aren’t used to the taste of Human yet… So we’ll start you off slow…” The man said. Shu opened the can, eating a small piece of Tuna with the spoon.

“So… Who’re you…?” Shu asked, while chewing the tuna.

“I am Gin’zod (Jin-Zod)… Senior Scientist for Ingrozath…” Gin said.

“So what experiment am I guinea pig for?” Shu asked. Gin chuckled,

“Not resisting I see…” Gin said. Shu shrugged,

“I have nothing… No use in escaping…” Shu said. Gin nodded,

“You could at any moment,” Gin said. Shu raised a brow,

“I’d blow up…” Shu said. Gin chuckled,

“Dang, most subjects forget at this point.” Gin laughed. Shu looked confused,

“I’m not the first?” Shu asked. Gin shook his head,

“Of course not, where do you think we got that stuff?” Gin said. Shu nodded,

“Good point…” Shu said.

"Well, I'd rather not dwell on these gloomy topics... Why don't we get started with the first tests?" Gin said. Shu looked up at him,

"Sure..." Shu said.

"Now, take off your sure, there are some things I have to connect to you," Gin said. Shu nodded, removing his shirt. Gin raised a brow in confusion,

"All these scars... How old are you...?" Gin asked. Shu shrugged,

"15 I think..." Shu said. Gin looked shocked,

"This state at 15 years old... Goodness..." Gin said.

"You're parents must've been horrible people... I'm so sorry..." Gin said. Shu glared at Gin.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

"What'd you say...?" Shu asked. Gin looked confused,

"Your parents have neglected you, no? I mean, you have an adult male's physique and a soldier's injuries..." Gin said.

"I got these from surviving..." Shu said, looking down at his torso and arms. Gin nodded, clearing his throat.

"I see..." Gin said. He then attached heart monitor patches to Shu's chest. His heartbeat would appear on the screen. Gin looked at the screen, raising a brow.

"That's odd..." Gin said.

"What's wrong?" Shu said, looking at the ground aimlessly.

"It seems, you're heart is skipping a beat..." Gin said. Shu nodded,

"Put more here..." Shu said. He pointed at the right side of his chest. Gin raised a brow, placing more patches on the right side of his chest. Gin then looked at the screen. Gin's eyes widened. The heart monitor would then beat twice. He looked back at Shu.

"You have two hearts..." Gin said. Shu nodded once,

"Yeah... I noticed when we were talking..." Shu said.

“Really? Interesting…” Gin said. Shu shook his head,

“Not you…” Shu said. Gin raised a brow in confusion.

“What’re you talking about then, boy?” Gin asked. Shu shrugged,

“I don’t know… I don’t know what it is…” Shu said. Gin nodded, writing something down on a clipboard.

“Alright… What’re you hearing?” Gin asked.

“It’s like… A voice…” Shu said. Gin nodded,

“Interesting…” Gin said, writing on his clipboard.

“Well, you might be hallucinating…” Gin said. Shu looked confused,

“What if I’m not…” Shu said. Gin looked at him in confusion,

“Well… At that point…” Gin said, taking off his glasses. Gin sighed, rubbing his nose.

“You must be the perfect vessel…” Gin said. Shu raised a brow.

“For Ingrozath…?” Shu asked. Gin nodded,

“He can have my body…” Shu said. Gin looked surprised,

“Really?” Gin asked. Shu nodded,

“I have nothing…” Shu said. Gin shrugged,

“Others usually resist…” Gin said. Shu looked confused,

“How come…” Shu asked.

“I don’t know… Maybe because they have dreams and family to protect.” Gin said. Shu’s eyes widened as he looked at the ground.

“PROTECT FUYUMI…!!” He remembered his mother shout from so long ago. Shu grit his teeth.

“Fuyumi…” Shu mumbled under his breath. Shu then stood up, walking over to Gin. Everything suddenly became dark around Gin. Gin looked around in shock.

“What… What is this…?” Gin said. He then felt something grab his ankles. Gin looked down at all the slimey looking creatures climbing on eachother to grab him.

“What is this-“ Gin said. Gin’s neck then fell clean off. Shu stood there holding Ingrozath’s swords. The room then returned back to normal as blood spilled out of Gin’s head. The swords then faded from Shu’s hands. Shu then put his hand on his neck. He raised a brow,

“There’s no bomb… Lying old shit…” Shu said. The thorned sword then appeared in his left hand. He then slashed the sword. The room around him began to shake and collapse. He walked out of the rubble, he would walk down a dirt path. He looked around.

“Where am I…?” Shu asked. It then started to snow. Shu looked up at the sky,

“Snow…? Am I…” Shu looked back at the rubble.

“… In Hokkaido!?” Shu asked. A demon then dashed towards him, hitting Shu directly in the chest with the top of it’s head. Shu flew directly through a ton of tree’s before making a path in the ground. Shu stood up, popping his shoulder back into place.

“Ow…” Shu said. Shu then walked out of the dirt, standing in a fighting position.

“You damn bastard…” Shu said. Shu’s eyes widened as he looked to his left, seeing an orange light fly toward the demon.

“Reinforcements…?” Shu internalized. The orange streak of light then flew into the demon’s head, knocking it out.

“I don’t think so…” Shu said. There would be something steaming on the side of the demon’s head. Shu looked shocked, bolting away quickly. The veins in Shu’s legs were dark black as he ran.

“I don’t know why I’m running… But it’s as if something told me to run…” Shu internalized. He then approached an abandoned shed. He entered the shed, closing the door behind him. He looked around the shed seeing cobwebs and overgrowth.

“I think I’ll rest a bit…” Shu said. He sat down next to the wall, sighing.

“I need a break… Peace and quiet…” Shu closed his eyes, falling asleep.
