Alas, that was a luxury for him at this point.
The very next day, Damon entered the VR Pod in the Virtual Reality room and logged into the VR World. The first thing he noticed was that this time he did not appear in a blank room, rather inside a giant chamber that flowed with strange lights.
It was quite futuristic in an aesthetic sense, looking very alien. He saw that other people were appearing in this room alongside him, heading straight towards a large exit.
Not wanting to go against the flow, he also exited the building, only to be admitted into a hallway that seemed to stretch forever. As he walked along, he saw that many different worlds already existed, some listed as 'Valkyrie World', "Martial Arts Dojo', 'Marketplace of the Deva Union', and more.
Damon guessed that he should be in the central hub of the VR World, and these portals led to other VR Worlds that were connected to the public hub. This guess was buttressed by what little he had researched beforehand.
Damon believed in his heart that this process should likely be more optimized. There was no way after so many years and with such technology, each and every person who wanted to go somewhere would have to walk this long hallway and manually search for their target.
As such, Damon decided to focus his mind and think about his likely target, the IUAS Assembly. He didn't do this on instinct, but because when he was querying Selie for information, she had made it very clear that the VR World responded to thoughts better than anything else.
And for his intuition, he was rewarded when he felt the world warp around him. He noticed he had traversed an unknown distance along the hallway and appeared before an exit that read: 'Intergalactic Union HQ'.
Damon was pleased with his work, and then sighed internally. He was definitely certain that no new Species Representative would have to grope around like this.
He was DEFINITELY sure that this should fall under the Overseer's duties to lead them over and guide them, but that Ambrose fellow had told him that he would be busy today, going about how someone of his standing needed a massage against all the stress that had fallen on his lap.
As if that hadn't been enough, before shooing Damon off, he had simply told him that a fellow of his intellect would surely be fine on his own.
Damon wrung his lips as he hesitated at the entrance. He felt like he was about to enter the doctor's office, only unlike usual without his mom accompanying him, a feeling most young adults could relate with.
However, we would all have to admit that the scale this time was far higher.
Damon was in a presidential position, about to meet older and more powerful presidents for the first time without any guide to tell him what was tactful and what was uncouth.
Welp, he was a human anyway. Humans never really tried to pretend to be tactful towards other species in the fiction that Damon had consumed.
Why there was that one famous sci-fi oriented joke that Damon loved, about how humans were basically space orcs. Given the kind of abilities humanity had awakened, that saying didn't seem too out of place anymore.
Damon walked through the doorway and was admitted into a large conference hall that was similar to a senate, but far larger than anything he had ever seen. He blinked with surprise as a guide came over with a respectful expression.
At least, Damon assumed it was a respectful expression, since the species of what approached him looked similar to a Glorft. Luckily, thanks to the nature of VR or the Universe Will, Damon could understand its speech immediately.

"Greetings, respected Prime Representative of the Human Species. A spot has been prepared for you in the Intergalactic Union Senate. Please follow me."
The fellow then brought Damon over to a platform where a bunch of circular platforms that looked like cars passed by to pick up the representatives of other species that were led by these Glorft-like beings. One of such cars came over and hovered before Damon, with seating fit for a humanoid species.
"Please, sit down, while I lead you to your position." The fellow prompted Damon gently.
Damon did as told. He noticed that his 'car' had seats for up to five people. He idly made a note to bring Felicia and some others who were sensible along next time, so he wouldn't feel too alone.
The car began to move steadily, traveling quite quickly through an invisible lane that Damon could not see. However, there were no disturbance on the inside. It felt as if he was seated in a stationary vehicle, yet his eyes told him he was moving.
This kind of feeling was something that did not appear on Earth no matter the vehicle one used, so the expectations of Damon's mind conflicted with the reality of the situation and made him utterly confused.
He soon arrived at his position and stopped, hovering between five other cars that surrounded him in all directions in a 3D space. If one made Damon the center, he would look like he was the centerpiece of a hexagon.
Damon looked to his left and saw a species similar to Rabbits, but with blood-red eyes and muscular bodies, and on his right, the species were similar to Wolverines, but with scars on their left eye and claws that were shaped like fingers.
Damon made sure to not stare at them, not wanting to appear ignorant and rude. He was alone, representing the entire human species now. He did not know the exact situation, but if this senate was organized based on proximity, then these fellows would be neighbors of humans.
If it was organized based on discovery, then they were all newbies and in the same boat politically.
Whatever the case, after Damon settled in, he had time to observe the place from his position. He noticed that the entire senate looked too similar to the one in the famous third episode of a certain sci-fi series that caused controversy whenever it had expanded on its intellectual property.
Damon noticed that the senate became silent when a certain majestic car parked near a central podium that hung from the center of the area. All the senators stopped chatting with their various colleagues and focused on that central podium with a solemn face.
Soon, the podium opened up and revealed three fellows, two females and one male. The females wore embodied blue robes that had the motif of leaves and elements on them, while the male in the center wore a similar robe that was colored light green, with the same design.
"Gefum. Greetings, Species Representatives from all over the universe. Some of you may know me, but for the sake of our newest members, I shall introduce myself. My name is Kiisuo Vritu, Elven Councilor of the Intergalactic Union of All Species."
"The Elven women beside me are Dalia Vritu and Leena Seers, both deputy councilors." Kiisuo stated in a manly baritone as he introduced the two beautiful females beside him.
"The agenda for today's meeting is quite concise. We'll be discussing the results of the 10,429th weekly expedition into the Chaotic Realm hosted by the Union's Battlecorps. After that, I will introduce three new species who have joined the Union over the past month."
Kiisuo paused and read through some documents before speaking. "During the recent exploration, a new area was discovered within the 33rd Sector of the Chaos Realm, which has been tentatively named as 'Armageddon' by the team who discovered it."
"Apparently, this realm is full of dangers beyond the scope of anything seen in the 33rd Sector so far, reaching levels of difficulty otherwise only present in the 100th sector and beyond. However, it is also rich in resources, especially Chaos Fragments."
"At least a hundred mines have been found containing top-grade Chaos Fragments in this realm, raising its value to the top 100 areas discovered so far. However, its danger level is ranked in the top 25, so such wealth is not going to be easy to obtain."
There was a bit of commotion in the senate as the various Species Representatives showed undisguised looks of greed, or at least what looked like greed from Damon's perspective. He himself was deeply moved, as he knew what a Chaos Fragment was.
Chaos Fragments were the things that the Universe Will desired, and the reason it had created this whole hullabaloo. The better the fragments, the more it would reward you. As such, Chaos Fragments were the most precious resource in the Universe currently.
If one could get their hands on those mines, their power could grow exponentially! They could also secure more benefit for their species from the Universe Will, allowing them to navigate and survive this dangerous universe.
"Silence!" Kiisuo commanded, and the entire senate became calm. This kind of prestige impressed Damon, and he wondered idly if he would be able to achieve the same effect one day.
"In light of this, the Armageddon area shall be open to all Explorers who wish to spelunk into its depths. However, as the discoverer, the IUAS will take a 30% tax of all earnings made during any explorations."
