I woke up to humming coming from behind the sofa, so I sat up on the sofa and yawned deeply.

"Ooh boy, you must have been tired. Its been nearly 15 hours since I left the food for you. Sorry if I woke you with the humming, normally I listen to music when I am sculpting........ wait I will be right back."

And I heard he exit through a side door I hadn't know was there, but I hadn't gone over every inch of the room to be honest.

She came back and seemed a little less tense, "Sorry I normally don't wear clothes in my room when I sculpt, because they would just get dirty. Even if you couldn't see me, it felt weird. But I am done sculpting for now anyway"

"Also, I spoke to a friend I know that has a ripper we can trust enough and that said the op to get your eyes replaced would should be about 12000 eddies. Honestly I don't keep this amount on hand, so I wanted to ask how much you had to add to mine, to see where we stand."

"The guy who dropped me off said he gave me enough to take care of it, but didn't mention an account. Here is my Credit chip, you can check it."

"Right, no eyes and all that, so you would need to use a chip. One moment" I felt her take the chip and slid it in the rooms Vending machine for burritos and then stop for a moment "I think there might be an issue, I show there is 22000 on this chip"

"Well I had 10000 before he gave me the money from just doing odd jobs for him, so its not completely not understandable. So I have the eddies for the op, when can I get it done? I miss having eyes that worked."

Rita just chuckled lightly and grabbed my hand to put two chips, "I split the amount from your credit chip for you, the one in your right hand has all the funds you will need for the op, and the one in your left is what is left. We can set it up for later today, doesn't take long to get them replaced, was just a worry regarding the funds."

"Thanks, that will help a lot to keep my eddies safe until I can have them transferred to me."

"Well lets go out to the bar to see whats been served. Its actually around noon now, so I think they are starting lunch for other people. Normally I work the later shift so I eat a later lunch."

"Yea, still hungry, and thirsty. Even after the food and drink last night for sure."

We both headed out with Rita leading me by the arm. I would be lying if I said having a hot women hold your arm against her was not a massive turn on, and it was showing.

If I hadn't had this massive coat on, I would have a full display right there for everyone to see, damn hormones and puberty.

Well it wasn't all the bad, just means I am growing up, just a little awkward.

We made it to the bar and I awkwardly got onto a bar stool.

Half from the tent I was pitching, and half from my height being slightly smaller then the stool itself.

When I finally got up on the stool I heard rita laugh a bit. I just turned my head to her and acted like I was glaring at her.

At which point the chuckle was stopped instantly and I chuckle at that.

"Cheeky one are you, well looks like nothing is made right now, so we can grab a drink and a burrito and then when you are done, we can head out. The doc isn't far as well."

After chowing down on the burrito, apparently she liked the Hot one and expected I might.

Well It was good, just very hot in terms of the spice, and I went through a bottle of soda quick with rita laughing next to me as we walked outside.

We made it to her car, it felt like a slick sports car. Guess I will find out soon.

We arrived at where we were going and I opened the car door as rita came around to lead me again. I stepped in and was met with the voice of a man.

"How ya? A kid and a mox walk into a ripper doc, sometimes the jokes right themselves."

"yea, just here helping get this one new eyes, his are blinded somehow, didn't get the deets, but I will be back in around 30 minutes to an hour. Here is my number when he is done, have him call me when he is done."

"Will do, what do you want him to get?"

"He will actually decide, he has the eddies and will pick what he needs."

"roger that. Ok kid come this way."

At this rita leg go of my arm and was walking away, so I followed what the doc said and went forward following the desk around.

I kept following the wall until just ahead of me I heard someone open a Door and I stopped.

the man grabbed my arm and lead me to a chair that I knew.

An almost dentist chair that was used by ripper docs.

"Ok, lets take a look.....hmm Oh boy, these marbles are fried nice and good, when we are done I will actually put them on display for how bad a burnout can look, so I will take 2k off the total price for something rare like this!"

"Ok, go through the list and ......... Nevermind, lets see, what style/brand are you looking for?"

"Looking to get some Kirochi if you have any."

"Ok, they aren't on the normal list, but I have a pair, Mk.2 as well. Normally with a trade in to upgrade it keeps the cost lower, and I had accounted somewhat of a cost into the original price provided to rita but with no real trade in, they aren't cheap and with installation, we are looking at 14000. Think that is good?"

"For kiroshis? yea, more than good, do you have an Ex-disks, cheapest right now."

"Ahh, yea, I have an older model, 6k for them with installation included."

"Sounds good to me, want me to pay before or after? And can you throw in a Bounce Back, I don't have any and they are to useful."

"You can pay after as long as you have the eddies, normally with any cyberwork, we will include it in the meds incase there is a bad reation, so no extra charge there. I just have some things I want to go over with you, I am Robert Rainwater, you doc for today."

"Most people don't realize the brain functions better when its tied to real non-synth Musculature, replacing even a single hand can make you notice a dip in concentration or your overall well being. Cyberware is more harm then help in most cases."

"Well I guess that last bit doesn't apply for you in this case, since you didn't have ganic eyes for a while by the looks. But I want to make sure you understand."

"Sure do rob, its why I am keeping the chippin to a Min currently, well that and the eddies." I chuckled at that which made Rob chuckle.

"Yea, Chromers like you keep it busy round here at least. Well, time to tinker."

It was almost relaxing as he was working on me, and after around 30 minutes, he stopped and set back.

"Ok, kid I am about to turn the eyes on, closed your eyes and prepare to get adjusted to sight again."

So I closed my eyes and shook slightly in excitement.

"Ok, they are on"

I slowly opened my eyes to the dimly lit room and looked over to the big man that had worked on me.

His voice has made it sound like a big man, and his stature didn't disappoint.

"Man, you are like 3 tough guys stuffed in one body, how are you so careful."

Robert laughed at this and just clasped me on the shoulder before standing up and stretching slightly.

"I will take that as a compliment, ok kid, where are the edds."

I reached into both of my pocket and pulled the chips out.

"Left one has 12k and the right have 10k, If I remember right, leave all thats left on one and give it back to me."

he nodded and took the chips away.

I took the chance to stand up and look at myself.

I didn't look good, I was dirty, and had soot around my eyes.

But me being able to see was a powerful feeling, I was now free in Night City, I can only wonder as to the trouble I will get into in the next little while!
