Melia ran as fast as she could in the direction of the High Wall.
“Do you know where they are?” Averard asked.
“No, but I’ve got a hunch” Melia said smiling whilst running. She eventually found herself beneath the High Walls exit. She entered and climbed the tower’s stairs that led her to the top of the High Wall. As soon as she exited the tower, she found herself atop the High Wall were she started looking around, hoping to find Marcus and Amelis.
“Looking for us?” Melia heard a familiar voice behind her. She turned around to find Marcus and Amelis sitting atop the High Wall. Amelis was dangling off of the tower, looking down at Melia whilst Marcus was laying down on top of the tower, looking up into the sky. Melia looked up at Amelis with a smile.
“Yep, found you” Melia said, smiling. Amelis jumped down from the tower to where Melia was and leaned forward with her arms behind her back, smiling.
“SO. How can we help you?” Amelis asked. Melia took a deep breath in and out.
“I want to join you and Marcus on your journey” Melia said, proudly looking into Amelis’s eyes.
“Hmm, and why is that?” Amelis asked, confused.
“This morning when you spoke the truth about who you were and you showed your true power I saw how other’s looked at your power in terror Marcus, but I saw beauty in it. At that exact moment I figured out that this is the path that I want to take. I want to follow you two on your journey” Melia said proudly. Amelis stood up straight, staring straight into Melia’s eyes with a stern face.
“Do you have any idea what you just said?” Amelis said. Melia kept her eyes level to Amelis’s.
“Yes, I do. I know that I am not as powerful as you two and that it will take a long time before I even reach your level, HECK, I might NEVER reach your power. But I know that I want to join you two in your task” Melia said. Amelis looked up at Marcus seeking confirmation.
“Well, what do you think brother?” Amelis asked Marcus. Marcus sighed and jumped down from the tower as he landed straight in front of Melia, staring her up and down.
“Let me ask you something, you have a familiar, right?” Marcus asked.
“Yep, I just got them” Melia said smiling. Marcus looked straight at Melia with a strict face.
“Then have you unlocked your covenant?” Marcus asked. Melia looked at him confused.
“Uhh. No?” Melia said. Marcus sighed.
“Then this a waste of my time” Marcus said annoyed and turned around about to walk away, until Melia grabbed his arm, forcing him to look back at her.
“Then teach me” Melia said, rigorously. Marcus looked at Amelis who simply smiled at him. He looked back at Melia who was still serious about her choice so with one big sigh he opened his mouth.
“Fine, I’ll teach you how to achieve COVENANT UNLOCK” Marcus said coldly.
“YAY!” Melia jumped up and down in excitement.
“BUT. If you don’t achieve in unlocking your Covenant then I will not allow you to go on this trip. DO YOU UNDERSTAND” Marcus said as he pointed his finger at Melia who stopped jumping up and down. She held his finger and slowly moved it away from her face.
“I understand Marcus” Melia said smiling, arrogantly.
“Very well then, let us go down to the open fields and let me teach you how to unlock your Covenant” Marcus said jumping down into the fields from the top of the High Wall. Amelis looked at Melia who seemed stressed.
“Don’t worry, he might look cold but he is very sweet inside and he will teach you how to unlock your Covenant. All YOU have to do is listen and copy what he is doing” Amelis said smiling. Melia looked over at Amelis and smiled whilst nodding her head in agreement.
“Good, then shall we go?” Amelis asked whilst reaching her hand out to Melia. Melia looked at her hand, confused, but took hold of it.
“Great, let’s go shall we?” Melia said.
“What do you me- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Melia said but Amelis pulled her arm and jumped down from the High Wall resulting in Melia screaming whilst tightly holding onto Amelis.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?” Melia shouted, distressed, whilst they were plummeting to the ground at incredible speeds.
“Relax” Amelis said in a calm voice. Melia closed her eyes.
“IT’S NOT NICE!” Melia shouted yet again, distressed.
“ARE WE DEAD YET, OH GOD ARE WE DEAD? I’M SORRY DAD FOR TRUSTING MYSELF” Melia shouted.
“OI Princess! Open your eyes will you” Amelis said in a confused voice. Melia opened her eyes to see that they are on the ground, completely fine. She quickly scanned the area around herself and saw that behind her was the High Wall and that the open fields were right in front of her. Whilst clinching to Amelis, very tightly.
“Yeah, you can get off of me now” Amelis said. Melia quickly stopped hugging Amelis and landed on the floor, rubbed her clothes and cleaned the dust off of them.
“Phew!” Melia said whilst she swiped her head to clear off the sweat. She looked over at Marcus and Amelis who were both sitting on the ground, waiting for her to finally organise herself which made her laugh nervously.
“I’m ready now” Melia said, now with a serious face.
“Good, then I will teach you how to unlock your Covenant. STEP. BY. STEP” Marcus said as he stood up and stepped forward towards Melia’s direction. Amelis stood back and sat down in the grass, watching on as Marcus and Amelis got into position. Melia stood straight and quickly went from nervous to serious as she looked straight at Marcus.
“Good. Then the first thing I want you to do is, close your eyes and breathe deeply” As Marcus said that Melia closed her eyes and started breathing, in, and out.
“Good. Now imagine fire pooling inside your heart, make it flow throughout your whole body, entering every limb, every crevasse you can possibly fit it in” Marcus said. Melia felt and saw the fire within her heart. As she thought about the fire circulating throughout her whole body, the fire within her heart started flowing through her arms, legs, body and head. She could feel the fire within her, warming her up. The fire then spread to her feet, toes, hands, fingers, eyes, ears, mouth, nose and to her breasts.
“I can feel it” Melia said calmly as she felt the fire within her effortlessly flow into every crevasse in her body, warming it up.
“Very good, now let it go, release it into the outside” Marcus said whilst standing across from Melia. Melia opened her eyes and she could see a red-ish glow on her arms, legs and body. She could feel the warmth throughout her body.
“Don’t worry about it. The fire won’t hurt you, I promise” Marcus said reassuringly. Melia let go and the fire in her body released itself into the outside, surrounding her whole body. Because her body took on a phoenix familiar the fire surrounding her started turning her feet into talons, her arms became covered in fire, small wings of fire were being projected from her back, her eyes glowed a deep red and orange. Orbs of fire completely surrounded her as they danced around her body. She looked around her whole body to see what she had created.
“It’s so beautiful!” Melia said, smiling. Amelis started clapping as she slowly stood up and walked over to Melia’s position.
“You know that’s very impressive that you managed to unlock your Covenant so quickly. Well Done!” Amelis said, smiling. Melia looked at Amelis then looked up at Marcus in shock.
“Is. That true?” Melia asked. Marcus nodded, smiling.
“Yes, you have unlocked your Covenant. Well done” Marcus said whilst smiling.
“HURRAY!!” Melia started jumping up and down in happiness.
“However, you still need to get used to it in battle and activate it subconsciously otherwise it will be useless” Marcus said.
“Oh, okay” Melia said unenthusiastically. The fire around her body disappeared, returning her body back to normal. Marcus slowly approached her and reached out his hand to her. Melia looked at it confused.
“Welcome to the team, Melia” Marcus said smiling. Melia looked at Amelis who was also smiling, nodding at her to shake Marcus’s hand. Tears started falling down Melia’s face as she stretched out her hand towards his.
“Thank you!” Melia said, crying whilst holding Marcus’s hand tightly. The two shook each other’s hands whilst Amelis joined the two and put her hand on Marcus’s left shoulder.
In a place far, far away. A Dark Kingdom sat atop a large Volcano. At the top of this Volcano there was a Palace, one made from dark rock and steel as it sat on top of the volcano’s crater and In this Kingdom a huge army was growing.
“HAH! HAH! HAH! HAH!” Tens of thousands of soldiers of all kind, from lizard borne, shark borne, undead, and Weerq were being trained.
“CAPTAIN. CAPTAIN, COULD YOU WAIT A SECOND?” a dark elf shouted desperately, as he was walking up a large, wide staircase following behind a dark cloaked figure. Around him were slaves being used to melt metal and steel into ginormous lava pits where then the melted steel would come out of an escalator and present itself in a dark colour. The slaves were transporting heavy materials and cages on their worn out shoulders, they were being forced to build heavy artillery as well as other structures. The clunking and banging of metal and heavy machinery could be heard all around them. Rabid dogs that looked like they had come straight out of hell were being locked up in cages, whipped, leaving them growling and screaming.
“I don’t have time for your insolence, Ruit” The dark cloaked figure said, coldly. He kept on pacing forward up the staircase that led towards the dark palace.
“JUST WAIT SIR, IT IS A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE. CAPTAIN SOBIAS!” Ruit kept on shouting, desperately. Sobias turned around staring straight at Ruit with the coldest and most terrifying stare as he grabbed him by the collar, leaving Ruit scared for his life.
“Go on then. What is this ‘important’ message that you have for me?” Sobias asked Ruit. Ruit, scared and slightly leaning backwards, gulped.
“His Majesty wanted to see you. He said that he has news about Dalavac’s expedition” Ruit said. Sobias looked stunned, and let go of Ruit.
“Has Dalavac returned?” Sobias asked Ruit. Ruit looked into Captain Sobias eye’s.
“I don’t know sir, I’ve just been told to tell you by his Majesty” Ruit said. Sobias looked conflicted but then looked back up at Ruit.
“I need to go!” Sobias shouted as he started pacing up the dark, cobbled staircase in the direction of the Palace.
“Wait for me, Captain!” Ruit shouted.
“NO! YOU GO GATHER UP FARROT AND JAIUS AND TELL THEM TO IMMEDAITELY HEAD TO HIS HIGHNESS’S THRONE ROOM OR I WILL PERSONALLY GO THERE AND DRAG THEM MYSELF!” Sobias shouted at Ruit as he started pacing up the stairs.
“YES SIR!” Ruit shouted nervously as he ran in the opposite direction. As Captain Sobias started moving up the staircase, he looked to his left to see the wyverns chained up, being punished and whipped, slaves were pushing the heavy metals around the ground whilst throwing the unrefined metals back into the magma for it to be melted into refined steel and on his right he saw three colossal, towering buildings in the distant. These three buildings were made up of Obsidian and they stood taller than the entire Palace that stood on top of the volcano. The three towers had black spikes that would protrude, chains that were locked in place outside the towers allowing them to flow in the wind and at the top of each tower was a statue, a statue of a dragon made up of dark rock called Lunanum. Lunanum was a rock that involved the combination of a diamonds toughness as well as the lightness of pumice and the dark colour of tourmaline. Sobias only knew this because he was there when they created this rock. The three towers on his left were left inhabited by the 10 Commandeers, the strongest soldiers in the Gamor Kingdom, apart from King Gamor himself.
Sobias eventually found himself at the top of the staircase facing the Palace doors, doors so black you would, at first, think that a never ending void was placed there but Sobias walked up to the door and pulled on the handle shaped in the mouth of a dragon. As he pulled on the handle, the black doors slowly opened by themselves revealing a dark room, filled with black pillars with torches mounted to them, lit on fire. The fire itself was pure red, but just looking at it made it feel like it was alive. This made Sobias shake from discomfort whilst looking at it but he walked forward into the room where he looked up and saw a throne, and in that throne was a man. The man sat there at his throne leisurely, one of his legs was propped up on the throne with his right arm resting on top of it whilst he rested his chin on the left hand that was propped up on the throne. The man wore a black armour with a red-ish tint to it that seemed to glow vibrantly. The shoulder plates were shaped in the head of a dragon’s head with eyes that radiated a blood red colour. The black armour on his legs also had tints of red that shimmered a frightening colour. Down the King’s right arm, Sobias could see a blood red tattoo of a dragon that stretched all the down to his fingers. He had two rings on his left hand, one on his middle finger made of gold and ruby and the other one made up of Lunanum depicting hellfire on it. Sobias walked up to the man, lifted his hood exposing a man with yellow skin, red eyes, and black hair. He then knelt down in front of the King on the red carpet laid in front of him.
“Your Majesty” Sobias said. He kept his head down to the floor expecting an answer but he said nothing, he just kept on looking.
“Your Majesty, Ruit said you had a message for me” Sobias said as he lowered his head even lower.
“You know, when I give you dimwits an order, I say it because I know that you can complete it without trouble, but when I hear news like this, it REALLY pisses me off, you know. SOBIAS” King Gamor finally spoke his mind but he released so much pressure as he was talking that Sobias couldn’t do anything but bow down his head to the floor as he tried to hide his fear from the King’s wrath.
“I’m sorry Your Majesty, may I ask what happened to Dalavac on his expedition?” Sobias knew that asking this question could mean his death but he had to, he was already scared stiff and sweating from his forehead from the aura that the King was producing. He HAD to ask.
“Well I guess I can’t expect you to know everything” King Gamor said, coldly. A small pause could be heard before King Gamor opened his mouth again.
“Dalavac failed his mission, not because he didn’t get to the VEIL Kingdom or he just couldn’t be asked to. NO. SOMEONE KILLED HIM!” King Gamor shouted, angrily. The fierceness of his aura increased in the room so much that Sobias fell to the floor and was pressed against the ground, he tried to fight it but he couldn’t. Not until King Gamor suppressed the aura he had released. Sobias got up from the floor, all exhausted from the pressure. As he was about to open his mouth, the palace doors opened up.
“YOUR MAJESTY, I HAVE FOUND THEM!” Ruit came in rushing through the door, shouting and panting from exhaustion, with two hooded figures standing behind him that wearing dark cloaks. The two then entered the room, walked forward in front of Sobias and bowed down in front of the King.
“Your Majesty” the two said together whilst bowing down. King Gamor looked at the both of them and then looked up at Ruit who was still standing by the door.
“What do you think you are doing, YOU BUFFOON!” King Gamor shouted at Ruit. Ruit reacted in fear.
“CAPTIAN SOBIAS TOLD ME TO GET THESE TWO FOR YOU, I WAS JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS YOUR MAJESTY!” Ruit shouted nervously. King Gamor looked down at Sobias.
“Is that true? Did you tell Ruit to get fetch Farrot and Jaius?” King Gamor said in a cold voice, staring down at Sobias. Sobias kept on staring down at the floor whilst kneeling in front of King Gamor.
“Yes, I did your Majesty” Sobias said. King Gamor kept on staring at Sobias.
“Well then, may I ask why you thought that was a good idea?” King Gamor spoke so loud that his voice echoed across the whole room.
“When I heard that you had news of Dalavac’s expedition I knew that Farrot and Jaius would want to hear about it since they knew about Dalavac on a personal level, as did I” Sobias said confidently.
“I don’t know what I expected when I asked you this question. But I guess that’s a good enough answer” King Gamor said quietly.
“Farrot and Jaius, STAND UP” King Gamor said, in a strict voice. The two stood up and looked at King Gamor in his eyes.
“Dalavac is dead, he was killed. What are you going to do with that information now that I have told you this. REVENGE?” King Gamor said whilst looking at the two.
“HAHAHAHAHAHAH!” One of them started laughing maniacally, putting their arms around themselves.
“Your Majesty, if I may?” One of the hooded figures said in a joyous voice.
“Go ahead, Jaius” King Gamor said. Sobias for the first time since he entered the Palace lifted his head. The one on the left lifted their hood, revealing a woman with red eyes, long, blonde hair, black skin and a three claw scar on her left eye. The other one also lifted their hood revealing a male figure with black eyes, short, blonde hair, black skin and a scar that travelled over his nose, under his eyes.

“If Davalac died, it just means that he was weak and stubborn because he didn’t notice that his enemy was more powerful than him. I don’t care about his death it just means that there is someone out there who is powerful enough to defeat a Commandeer of the Gamor Army” Jaius said whilst laughing. Farrot also started smiling maniacally along with Jaius.
“Then let me ask you this Jaius, is it funny that there is a person out there that is as powerful as a Commandeer?” King Gamor asked in a serious voice to which Jaius looked at King Gamor and simply laughed.
“YES, VERY. Because it means we get to have fun by crushing those who think they are on our level and see the despair in their eyes when they are the ones who get crushed under our ultimate power. A power so strong that was given to us by our beloved King Gamor himself” Jaius said laughing maniacally along with Farrot. Sobias, who was still on the floor could only think of one thing that could describe those two ‘INSANE!’. All of a sudden Sobias lifted his head to see that King Gamor was smirking at the sight of these two enjoying themselves.
“Very well, you have given me an excellent answer Jaius. It gave me much joy” King Gamor said, smiling. The two simply looked at King Gamor and smiled back.
“Now that all of that is out of the way, I have a mission for you two” King Gamor said. Jaius and Farrot both looked at King Gamor with a serious face.
“Can I join in on this mission?” A voice appeared out of the dark to the right of everyone. As everyone looked over to the right of King Gamor a figure was seen to appear out of the darkness wearing a dark cloak, covering their face.
“Who are you?” Jaius asked, irritated.
“Why are you here, Vayteo?” King Gamor said to the figure. The figure revealed themselves out of the shadows and raised their hood to reveal a smiling male figure with crimson red eyes, short, red hair, and white skin.
“Why so cold, Father. I heard something interesting and thought it would be a good idea to intervene” Vayteo said coldly, smiling at King Gamor. Farrot and Jaius stared at Vayteo in disgust.
“What do you want, WEAKLING!” Farrot said staring daggers at Vayteo.
“HOOOOO! Damn is he a feisty one, well I may be weak right now, but I thought that if I followed you two on this mission that my Father is setting you on then I might learn a thing or two and possibly grow in power. What do you think, Father?” Vayteo explained himself whilst walking towards his Father’s side. King Gamor looked over at his son and then stared back at Farrot and Jaius. Suddenly, a smile appeared on his face.
“Very well, you can follow Farrot and Jaius on their mission” King Gamor said. Vayteo looked at them arrogantly, smiling whilst the other two looked at him with disgust and disdain. Sobias was still on the floor, bowing his head, trying to make sense of this situation whilst Ruit was in the back of the room, by the door looking at the scene envelop before him.
“Farrot and Jaius!” King Gamor turned his attention back to the two.
“YES, your Majesty” The two replied.
“Your mission is to travel to the Luminous Forest and completely eviscerate the Elven Kingdom that is situated there, this is a highly important mission so I can trust that you will deliver good news to me. WON’T YOU?” King Gamor said as he looked at them dourly, leaning forward on his throne, waiting to hear their answers.
“Yes your Majesty. Unlike our late comrade, me and Jaius will not disappoint you whatsoever. Me and Jaius will show the Elven Kingdom the POWER of the Gamor Army” Farrot spoke proudly along with Jaius standing by his side. Vayteo couldn’t stop from smiling frenziedly at the two whilst by his Father’s side. The two couldn’t bear to have Vayteo go with them but they can’t go against the words of his Father, King Gamor.
“Very well. Farrot, Jaius, Captain Sobias and Ruit., you may all leave, I have to have a talk with my son for a minute” King Gamor said.
“Very well, your Majesty” The four said whilst bowing. They all left the Palace, closing the door behind them.
“FUCKIN BASTARD!” Jaius said, angrily, kicking over some buckets.
“I feel you Jaius, I hate that despicable bastard as well but there is nothing that we can do about it since it is his Majesty’s order” Farrot said trying to keep himself composed.
“Captain Sobias, I have a question for you” Farrot said. Captain Sobias who was slowly walking down the stairs, stopped in his tracks and looked up at Farrot.
“Yes, go on” Captain Sobias said.
“What do you feel when you look at Vayteo, What do you SEE?” Farrot asked, sternly. Captain Sobias completely turned himself around, looking at both Farrot and Jaius.
“I see a despicable monster that is untouchable due to who he is. I see a SNAKE that will do anything in his power to be able to FUCK over anyone who does not agree with him. THAT is what I see, Commandeer Farrot” Captain Sobias said. Farrot smirked at his words.
“I’m glad that we are on the same page, therefore I ask you that you join us on our mission to the Elven Kingdom. What do you say?” Farrot asked. Sobias looked at the two and thought about it for a second.
“Huh, alright. I’ll join you two on this mission because I’m curious to see the power of the Elven Kingdom” Sobias said. Farrot looked at Sobias and smiled.
“Well then I’m happy to have another comrade on board. Captain Sobias” Farrot said, reaching out his right hand. Sobias looked over at Farrot and then switched his view towards Jaius who was looking over at Sobias, gesturing him towards Farrot’s hand. Sobias walked up the stairs and reached out his right hand toward Farrot’s and they both shook on it.
“Well then, should we get going and get ready for the journey?” Jaius said, interrupting. Farrot nodded in agreement.
“Yes, we should be getting back to our tower and getting packed for the journey since we have no idea what we could encounter once we are there” Farrot said. Sobias nodded in agreement and left, walking down the stairs.
“WAIT CAPTAIN, WAIT FOR ME” Ruit shouted, nervously.
“If you’re going to follow me, then DO IT SO BY SHUTTING UP RUIT!” Sobias shouted as he was walking down. Ruit was about to open his mouth but shut it quickly and rushed down the stairs, following swiftly behind Sobias.
“Let’s go and prepare for this, frankly, arduous and annoying journey” Jaius said. Walking down the stairs already as she put her hood back on.
“Yeah, let’s go” Farrot agreed also putting his hood up as he descended the Palace stairs with Jaius. After some time, Captain Sobias found himself by the front gate to the Kingdom.
“RELEASE THE CHAINS” Sobias shouted up to the red Yuips controlling the Gates. As they operated the gates, they started slowly opening up revealing a barren land full of nothingness expect for darkness and magma that surrounded the Kingdom. He exited the Kingdom and waited outside for Farrot, Jaius and Vayteo to appear, as much as he didn’t want Vayteo to appear.
“Bloody Hell, where are those bastards. They said they wouldn’t be long” Sobias told himself. Sobias was dressed in his Luminum armour that the Kingdom was able to manufacture. The Luminum armour was finely cut and precisely refined to ensure no blade would be able to cut through, at least that’s what the scientists of the Gamor Kingdom told Sobias. The armour extended all the way to his hands where he wore gloves as dark as charcoal. He had his helmet by his side that had the shape of a wolfs head.
“They are really testing my patience those twins” Sobias thought to himself until he heard a loud flapping sound. As he looked into the air he saw them.
“Oh you gotta be fucking kidding me” He looked up into the air in disbelief as he saw two wyverns in the air, hovering above him and on the wyverns were the two twins. The two wyverns slowly descended onto the ground where Sobias was standing.
“Is this your idea of a dramatic entrance?” Sobias asked Farrot and Jaius, confused. Sobias looked at the two wyverns that towered over him. The Wyvern that Farrot was on was red and spilled red hot magma, it had humongous spikes all over its head and its horns protruded out towards the direction of its mouth. The wings were a black colour with hints of a dark red at the lower sides of its wings. Its tail was long and at the end of it a constant red fire was being produced that stretched all the way across its back. The second wyvern was Jaius’s but this one was yellow in colour and lighting kept on coming off of it, when it opened its mouth Sobias looked inside it to see that inside its mouth there was what seemed to have been a storm brewing by itself in there. This one was a lot smaller in body size compared to Farrot’s but its tail was longer and split into two at the end with one creating a blue energy and the other one creating a pink energy at the same time. Its wings were smaller than Farrot’s but it had three claws at each wing instead of two that Farrot’s had. As Sobias watched on he noticed that Farrot and Jaius, who were still in their dark cloaks, have jumped off their wyverns, looking like they just did something impressive.
“So, are you that mesmerised by our Wyverns that you just can’t stop staring at them?” Jaius asked, smirkingly.
“While they are very impressive I was mostly surprised that you thought that this would be enough to make me forgot that you are late to meetup spot” Sobias said, disappointed.
“Ah yeah, well we are here now so it doesn’t matter anymore, does it” Farrot interrupted. Sobias just gave a long sigh as he planted his head into his palm out of sheer disappointment. The two stared at him with confusion but everyone’s mood completely fell when the gates opened.
“Hello there, everyone” Vayteo came out of the gate, waving at everyone with joy, but everyone just stared at him with disgust and hatred.
“Woah, woah, woah. Why the long faces everyone, I’m not gonna try and pull something on you all. I’ve been explicitly told by my Father to let you guys do what you have to do and that I can’t intervene” Vayteo said whilst surrendering his arms into the air. Sobias looked at Vayteo and noticed that he also was wearing his dark cloak. Vayteo eventually made his way over to them and joined the group.
“So there are two wyverns. So who is going with who?” Vayteo asked, curiously. Farrot and Jaius looked at each other.
“Jaius will take Captain Sobias on her wyvern whilst I will take Vayteo on my wyvern. We good with that lineup?” Farrot asked. Jaius nodded agreement.
“I don’t mind” Vayteo said, the others looked at Sobias for his approval. He just gave out a big sigh.
“Yeah, I don’t mind either” Sobias replied. And with that Vayteo made his way over to Farrot’s wyvern whilst Sobias made his way over to Farrot’s where they mounted the beasts and set off on their journey to the Elven Kingdom, situated in the Luminous Forest.
Back in the VEIL Kingdom, night was starting to fall and Melia was in her room getting ready for the journey that was ahead of her.
“Phew, I think that’s everything” Melia said to herself whilst zipping up her rucksack. She took one last look around her bedroom and closed off all curtains, shut her wardrobe, turned off all her lanterns, and made her way to her bedroom door. As she reached her hand out towards the door, she momentarily stopped. Tears started appearing on her face, surprising her, but she quickly wiped them off of the her face and replaced them with a smile.
“I’ll miss you, my bedroom” Melia whispered as she opened her bedroom doors and turned around to face her bed once again. She had once last look before she slowly closed her doors shut. After she shut the door she laid her head on the closed doors. A look of confliction could be seen on her face as she stayed there, staring at the door.
“You okay there kid?” Melia looked around to see that Malian was there, smiling at her as he silently walked up to her. Melia took her head off of her bedroom door and faced her brother.
"Yeah, I'm okay” Melia replied. Malian moved forward towards Melia and hugged her.
“I’m proud of you, you know. You finally found your path and intend to follow it through, stopping at nothing. That is something that even I have not managed to do yet” Malian whispered into Melia’s ears whilst hugging her. Melia hugged him back tightly.
“Thank you, Malian” Melia responded with her head buried in his chest. Malian lifted up her chin, so that he could see her face and smiled at her.
“Should we get going then, we don’t want to keep your companions waiting now. Do we?” Malian asked. Melia nodded and the two let go of each other and started walking down the dark corridor. Their steps filled up the silence as they leisurely strolled through the corridor.
“What are you thinking?” Malian asked as he looked down at Melia. She looked up at him and then looked down at the floor whilst they were walking.
“I was just thinking about how I will miss you all, you know? I’m going to miss you, Dad. OH MY GOD, EVA! WHAT AM I GOING TO TELL EVA!?” Melia started panicking. Malian simply laughed.
“Don’t worry about kiddo, I’m sure Father will sort it out. I promise” Malian responded laughing. Melia looked at him confused. She sighed and kept on going. As they entered the Throne room they saw that Bradamis was there waiting for them to appear.
“Ah, there you are!” Bradamis said, joyfully, as he faced towards Melia and Malian standing tall and proud. Malian and Melia eventually came up to Bradamis.
“You ready to go now Melia?” Bradamis asked. Melia looked up at him with a stern face.
“Yes, I’m ready” Melia responded.
“Lighten up a bit, you’re too stiff for someone of your age” Bradamis said whilst pinching her cheek.
“Ow, Dad that hurts!” Melia shouted.
“HAHAHAHA!” Bradamis burst out laughing with Malian joining him and Melia also joining them both shortly after. The three had a laugh until Bradamis wiped away his tears of joy from laughing too hard.
“Right. Now that that’s over with, let’s go. I don’t want to keep Marcus and Amelis held up too much” Bradamis said. Malian and Melia both nodded in agreement and they started to descend down the Palace stairs. As they walked through the town, Melia noticed how quiet it was here at night. How peaceful it was. She saw that some of the houses around her still had some lights on, probably some young kids who wanted to stay up late and wanted to have some fun. Other houses were in complete darkness. As they walked down the cobble road she could hear the sound of bugs around her, buzzing away, and cats that were meowing. As she looked up into the starry night, she noticed something. There were no clouds tonight, the night sky was filled with stars and with beautiful colours that made it hard to look away from, the two moons were right next to each other, colliding their colours of blue and red into a majestic purple.
“Tonight is the Violet Moon. You can see how our two moons have collided and created a purple colour right?” Bradamis asked. Melia looked at Bradamis.
“Yeah, I can see it. It’s beautiful” Melia replied as she stared into the night sky.
“I’ll tell you a story of what happened the last time a Violet Moon appeared over the VEIL Kingdom, you want to listen?” Bradamis asked.
“Yes, I’d like that very much” Melia said, smiling.
“Wait, what about Malian?” Melia asked, concerned. Malian simply smirked.
“He’s already heard this story. I told him years ago, when he was your age actually” Bradamis said, casually.
“What? How dare you tell him and not me!” Melia got annoyed. Malian and Bradamis laughed hysterically before Bradamis patted her head gently.
“It’s okay, you are about to hear it yourself” Bradamis said as he removed his hand from her head. Melia watched on as her Dad looked at the night sky.
“Many, many years ago, when I was still your age, I would escape from my home, time and time again just so I could watch the stars that enveloped the night sky. And every night I would climb the High Wall just so I could get the best view possible. Then, one night, when I ventured up there, I saw a young woman sitting down on the edge of the High Wall, she had beautiful, long, curled, red, hair, her eyes sparkled a majestic red, her humming was as heart wrenching as her fair, white skin. I walked up to this young woman that had put me in a trance and introduced myself in, probably, the most goofy way possible. I was proud of myself at that moment and as I looked down at her I could see that she trying to hold in her laughter. But she couldn’t hold it in anymore so she started laughing and I joined in with her. We laughed for a bit, so I sat down next to her and asked her what she is doing here. She told me that ‘I’m always told to stay inside and that I’m not allowed to show my face to strangers unless my father approves of it’. I sympathised with her and told her that I enjoy running away from home at night and look up at the night sky because it calms me down, to an extent. She smiled and said even though this was nice, she needs to go back home because if her father found out about her little escapade then she would be grounded, again. So I saw her leave, but something told me to say something to her, so I called out to her and asked her if she would return to this here spot. I remember that she simply winked at me and left on her own and at that time I felt overjoyed. Every day after that, we would meet up in the same place at night. We would talk, laugh, punch each other, she hit me harder though. Until one day, when a Voilet Moon appeared, we met up in the same place, same time and watched the two moons collide together, forming the Violet Moon. That day, was the day I met Avedale and on that day I was made the happiest man in this world. Of course, we had to be discreet about it, since I didn’t know that Avedale was a part of the Royal Family” Melia looked up, surprised.
“Wait, Dad. You WEREN’T Royalty?” Melia asked confused.
“Hmm, oh GOD no. I was a simple man who worked as a simple sword instructor whilst living with my parents. I was anything but Royalty” Bradamis said, leisurely. Melia, shocked at the fact that her Dad wasn’t Royal to begin with baffled her.
“Wow that’s a surprise” Melia said.
“You think you are the only one who was surprised, even I thought at first that he was joking” Malian said looking back at Melia.
“ANYWAY. Me and Avedale fell in love quickly and after I hit the age of 20 I proposed to her, she said yes by the way, and I declared my engagement to the King who looked at me and his daughter and simply asked me one question ‘DO YOU SWEAR TO PROTECT MY DAUGHTER?’ to which I responded with a yes and he simply said ‘That’s good enough for me’ the King said. After that, me and Avedale married each other and shortly after, Malian was born” Bradamis’s face mood suddenly dropped to which Melia caught on quickly as she looked down at the ground she was currently walking on.
“But shortly after his birth she came down with a disease, a horrible one that we couldn’t treat no matter what. We tried for many months to find a cure. But a year after Malian was born, she was already on her deathbed. The amount of pain and frustration that took over me was unimaginable, even now I can’t imagine, not anymore. I held her hand tightly, trying so, so, so hard to not cry in front of my wife. I knelt down as she whispered in my ear ‘Bradamis, take care of our son, he will grow up to be as strong as you, I know. Don’t treat him too roughly, okay? I know that I’m going to go away somewhere far away now but I will still be here, looking over you’ and I’ll be honest, after that I bawled my eyes out. I felt her hand go cold suddenly, as I looked up I saw her now lifeless head on the pillow as the colour in her eyes faded away into nothingness. As I lowered her hand onto the bed one of the doctors came up to me, tapped me on my shoulder and told me ‘Your Highness, I know you love her, we all did, she was the kindest soul we have ever met. But she is gone, and we need to give her a funeral. One that is worthy of someone like her’ to which I agreed and slowly got up from my knees, looking at my now dead wife, sleep peacefully” Bradamis stopped for a bit. Silence enveloped them all as no one thought that it was appropriate to speak right now.
“On the day of her funeral the whole Kingdom came together to mourn her death. Children, adults, and old came together to mourn the death of their Queen. Me and Malian were the ones in front of everyone staring down at her funeral. After that day, I must admit, I was conflicted on what to do next. All I knew was that every time I fell into a deep hole, Avedale was the one who pulled me out of it and helped me through it. I fell into a deep depression but I had to stay strong, in honour of Avedale’s last words as well as for Malian who was only one and a half years old then. It took a while for me to return to my normal self but it eventually happened after I met my three best friends and with them I created the VEIL Kingdom that you know now” Bradamis said and as he looked over at Melia he could see that she was tearing up. He hugged her, rubbed her eyes and knelt down to be eye level with her.
“You okay now?” Bradamis asked. Melia nodded and they went along their way to the High Wall. They eventually arrived at their destination, they opened the gates and outside the gates stood Amelis and Marcus. The three exited the VEIL Kingdom and walked out onto the open fields.
“We’ve arrived with her, I hope you don’t mind” Bradamis said. Amelis and Marcus simply smiled at them.
“No, it’s not a problem at all” Amelis said. The three walked up right to where Marcus and Amelis were standing.
“You ready to go?” Malian asked.
“Mhm” Melia said, reassuringly. He hugged his sister one last time before saying goodbye. Bradamis also embraced his daughter one last time before saying goodbye.
“I’ll miss you, you know. I always will” Bradamis said, whispering into Melia’s ear. He kissed her forehead and they let go of each other.
“Your eyes remind me of Avelade’s, precious and full of conviction. Take care of yourself” Bradamis said, quietly.
“I will. Don’t worry Dad, we will see each other again” Melia said as she walked towards Marcus’s and Amelis’s side. As she stood next to them she looked back at her Dad and Malian, waving her goodbye. She looked up at her Kingdom that she is leaving.
“I promise that I will come back one day, I swear” Melia said to herself.
“Come on. Let’s go, Melia” Amelis said, smiling whilst placing her hand on Melia’s shoulder.
“Goodbye, Dad, Malian” Melia looked back once more before turning her back and leaving them all behind.
“MELIA!!” A voice could be heard from behind. As Melia looked back she was pushed onto the ground. As she looked again, it was Eva, all teary.
“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE LEAVING!” Eva shouted at her whilst crying. Melia also started bawling her eyes out.
“I’m sorry Eva. I’m so, so sorry I didn’t tell you” Melia said whilst hugging her best friend on the ground. The two reconciled with each other and Eva, slowly, stood up from the ground and off of her best friend. Eva looked at Marcus and Amelis whilst wiping away her tears from her face.
“Are these two your partners now?” Eva asked. Melia looked back at Marcus and Amelis.
“Yeah, I’m going to be travelling with these two from now on” Melia responded, looking back at Eva. Eva looked at them both with a serious look.
“You two better take care of my friend here!” Eva shouted at Marcus and Amelis.
“Eva I-“
“Don’t worry, we will make sure no harm comes to her, I swear!” Marcus replied, interrupting Melia.
“Good, that’s good” Eva responded. She looked back at Melia and hugged her one last time.
“You take care of yourself now, yeah” Eva said, quietly.
“Yeah, I know. I’ve heard it a hundred times by now” Melia said, smiling. The two look at each other knowing that they won’t see each other for a year or two, a few months if they are lucky.
“Melia, I know that its hard but we need to get a move on” Amelis said, looking at Melia with a stern face. Melia looked disappointed but she knew she had to move on.
“Bye, Eva” Melia said, smiling, quietly.
“Bye, Melia” Eva replied back, also smiling. Melia then turned her back on Eva and started walking with Amelis towards where Marcus was situated.
“How long will it be till we get to this Luminous Forest?” Melia asked Amelis.
“Well. Looking at our normal speed as well as time to train you in between, we are looking at 3 months to get to the Continent of Adela, that’s where the Luminous Forest is situated. Plus another month to get into the Elven Kingdom” Amelis said leisurely whilst walking with Melia.
“You don’t seem surprised” Amelis pointed out.
“Do you really think that after everything I’ve seen and heard that I will get surprised?” Melia said whilst looking at Amelis. Amelis smiled at her response and kept on walking. Bradamis, Malian and Eva all returned into the safe walls of the VEIL Kingdom whilst Melia who has left the safety of the High Wall is now on a journey along with Marcus and Amelis to get to the Luminous Forest. And like that, HER JOURNEY BEGAN.
