The cat spawner was certainly a welcome surprise. It had been so long since he had gotten a new spawner, he had almost forgotten it was even a possibility. What really surprised him though was the healing tigers he got as the final upgrade. From what he could tell it wasn't as fast as even a basic healing spell, but it was constant. Given enough exposure time it might even be more powerful in terms of what can be treated. The healing tigers can't cure death but short of that it seems like if they have a healing tiger lying next to them, they can recover from anything. Another surprise, which in hindsight shouldn't have been that surprising, was the popularity of the lesser cougars. They were especially popular among the children which now made up a rather large percentage of the people within the sanctuary.
Outside the sanctuary the recon teams still hadn't found any sign of another dungeon. He knew it wouldn't be easy. By his estimation depending on how big the continent they're on now is it could take years to find the other dungeons. Even that is assuming it expanded similar to himself. If they expanded almost straight down with relatively very little horizontal expansion it might be nearly impossible. With such a large safety net around his own dungeon though, he isn't really worried about how long it will take. What he is worried about is being hopelessly out gunned. They've had over a thousand years to grow after all. He doesn't even want to think about the number of spawners they could have. Not that he plans to wait idly by while they search. Though his main focus right now is on reclaiming the rest of the last human city. With that done he can focus on moving his spawners to more strategic location allowing him to keep his core and his people safe.
With that all that in mind all he can really do right now is expand as quickly as possible. So, he does. Gaining an extra 17 northern expansions and 14 southern expansions over the course of the next 3 months. Unfortunately, aside from territory he didn't really gain much. He can send out larger waves of forces now but with nowhere to send them it's kind of a moot point. What he is excited about and something he can't believe he almost didn't realize, is that his sanctuary now covers over half a square kilometer. This is admittedly more impressive sounding than it actually is, but it does represent an important milestone. He can already envision a time when he gets an area of multiple square kilometers per expansion.
Of course, the residents haven't exactly been idle either. Now that the outside the sanctuary area is as safe as it can get Allyson the alchemist has started wondering around the nearby woods looking for various ingredients. Siobhan insists that she have a few guards with her at all times even though the chances of an enemy sneaking up on her is low. She would much rather enjoy the tranquility of nature but understands the necessity of the guards. The result of these excursions was the development of several new potions and alchemical weapons. Including but not limited to various types of poison and venom cures, a potion of stone skin, A sleep gas bomb, and many more.

Queen Siobhan has also managed to organize school times lead by some of the more educated among them. Which is impressive given how few adults understand even basic math, much less reading and writing. It just so happens that she agrees with what Cid claims the sanctuaries thoughts are on education. Which is that an educated populace is a productive populace. Martial and magical training is still top priority for now, but it's generally understood that to truly save human culture they need to start cultivating scholars and historians as well. As for the population itself it is 'continuing to expand' leading to the average age in the town being about 15 and falling.
Yangus and Adam for their parts are barely able to keep up with the expansions anymore. What with having to build both above and below ground when it comes to the residential area. To be honest though if it wasn't for their crews that probably wouldn't be able to keep up. Not that either one would ever dream of complaining either way. As for the residential area itself it's starting to resemble a proper neighborhood instead of just a few houses close together. Between the small children playing in the yards and the cats and dogs (lesser cougars and lesser wolves) roaming around it could almost be mistaken for a suburb on earth. If not for the lack of modern technology that is. Oh, and the giant creatures that wonder by on occasion.
Just as the sun was about to set one of the recon teams returned rushing straight to Siobhan's throne room. Listening in on the report Logan learns that they just witnessed a meeting between elves and kobold. The meeting is a long way away from the sanctuary so there's no worries of an immediate attack. While he does want to be ready for the worst-case scenario, he is grateful that Siobhan chose not to panic. After all it's still possible they blame each other for the loss of their respective camps. The recon team didn't dare get close enough to eavesdrop nor did they stick around very long fearing they would be noticed. So, all Logan can do right now is speculate. That and keep an eye on how things develop. Something Siobhan whole heartedly agrees with as she has already instructed them to get a good nights rest and set out again in the morning to monitor the situation. If the sanctuary is attacked, at least they have a fairly good idea of what direction it will come. Not to mention the fact that they will have months to prepare for it.
