Logan couldn't help but feel that gaining mana had gotten easier lately, but since there was nobody he could ask about it he decided not to think too much about it. After all it was probably just cause his core had gotten huge lately. It was nearly a good three meters in diameter after all. Big enough to make him glad he thought ahead and made the core room twice as tall as the other underground rooms. He wasn't sure of the exact amount but even back then he noticed that every time he expanded his core grew. It always grew by the same amount as well. To be honest he still wasn't entirely sure if expanding the territory was causing the core to expand or if expanding the core caused the territory to expand in the desired direction. It hardly mattered though so again he gave it little thought.
What did matter was now he had the entire town finally. Well, most of it, there were still a few bits poking out here and there. Which basically means without his new skill of seeing through his creature's eyes he would still be wondering how far away the edge of the town is. Over the next 10 months he got 26 more east-west expansions and 34 more north-south expansions. Logan then spent another two months building a wall around the entire town. The wall was far enough out that it allowed plenty of room for the town to expand. It was also about 3 meters wide which along with making it sturdy allowed for archers to be stationed on top of the wall. Something that until Logan planted the idea of a bow and arrow in their heads wasn't needed. Sure, mages and lookouts were stationed on walls, but they didn't need all the extra room for ammo and extra bows. Logan also made the wall taller on the outside with slits to shoot through.
After that he spent the next two and a half years grabbing 51 eastern and 51 northern expansions. This was done in preparation for keeping the promise he made all those years ago to expand into the other human city to the southwest. He wanted to be sure his creatures had plenty of room to fight outside the wall before making the big push towards the other city. Once he headed southwest in earnest this town would be in the corner of his territory but that didn't mean he wanted it right on the exact corner.
He was continuing to search for the other dungeons as well but so far was having no luck. Either this planet only had one continent, or it was much bigger than earth because he still hadn't found the ocean yet either. Originally, he had assumed that this planet was the same size as earth, or at least close to it, due to having similar gravity. He reluctantly forced himself to admit that he might still be a bit narrow minded when it came to magic, and it's uses. He even considered that perhaps there were types of magic other than those recorded in that book about magic he found all those years ago. perhaps it was simply unknown to the humans of this world. It could also be that they chose not to teach it for whatever reason. Either way it didn't matter at this moment in time. All that really matter was that he had no way of really knowing how much more exploring he had left to do before he found something.

To be fair Siobhan and the recon teams were still mapping out the area around the sanctuary as well. It's just that while they were focused on creating an actual map and finding other humans lost in the wilderness Logan was single-mindedly focused on the other dungeons and where they might be hiding. The fact that the creatures he sent out were basically expendable, since they didn't need to care for or ensure the safe return of nearby humans, meant that they could go much further. It was just unfortunate that he was only a passive observer and couldn't actually issue orders outside of his territory. This meant that if he did see something that was worth a closer look he had to send another black eagle with instructions to circle around that area for a while.
He originally thought of using giant black eagles because that's what had been being used for recon missions, but he wanted to be a bit less conspicuous. In case he came across a settlement they would be less likely to notice a normal bird. Even if they did notice it, he doubted they would know it came from a dungeon. Now that he thought of it though he was surprised he hadn't found a settlement of some kind. Granted he had mainly had the creatures he sent out fly in a straight line, with they only exception being those he sent out to keep an eye on potential cave entrances. Still, they were flying high enough that they should have at least seen signs of a settlement if not the settlement itself. Unless they did and his perspective was elsewhere at the time. Another possibility is that they were underground settlements, and he just hadn't found the correct cave entrance yet if there even was one.
Between his searches and Siobhan's maps he was starting to worry that he wouldn't be able to do much if he did find one of the other dungeons. The last thing he wanted to do was feed his creatures to it after all. This was partly why he was starting to believe that there had to be a way to interact directly with the other dungeons, as absurd as that idea sounded. There were no written accounts of something like that happening as far as he knew. Then again, he had a hard time picturing someone sitting down and interviewing a dungeon. Not that there was anything stopping said dungeon from lying if it was smart enough to be interviewed.
