Red Hats pt. 2

Red Hats pt. 2

Diarem anxiously left the car in a rush. He heard Elaine whispering to herself. At first, Diarem was thinking of not going there but the second explosion accrued. With a slight hesitation, he decided to go there.

"If I heard here correctly... She said Charlotte." Thought to himself Diarem as he was running.

He arrived in front of a parking lot of an abandoned warehouse. In front of this building, he saw a lot of men in red suits like the ones that he met in the back alley. He saw Charlotte, Hans, Alex, and Elaine fighting those guys. On the warehouse roof, there were two men.

One of them had long ginger hair. On his left eye, he has an eye patch. He wears a red coat and dark red pants. On his head, he wears a black hat with a red line. Beside him stands a skinny man with long bright blue hair. He wears a white shirt with red suspenders and dark red pants like the guy beside him. His shoes got metal elements for unknown reasons.

Diarem watched them fighting. He was too scared to move but they were getting overwhelmed by the enemy's numbers. He decided to move when he saw Hans and Charlotte slowly getting their backs to the wall.

He ran without thinking. Some guys noticed him and tried to attack him not knowing who he is. Diarem dodged the water splash and instinctively used the same spell. Surprising man that he splashed.

“Diarem?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!” Shouted Elaine at Diarem. He didn’t hear her or he was so confused that he didn’t think straight.

“Hey! Help has arrived!” Shouted Alex as he was beating three guys at the same time.

Diarem got hit in the shoulder with a rock. The pain was visible on his face but he couldn't think much about it because more of them were coming his way. He tried to dodge their spells and use them against them. Unfortunately, he didn't leave unscared.

“Did you see that kid? He used a few different magic elements.” Said the guy with blue hair who stood on the roof.

“Yeah… he looks interesting. I wonder how he has the same magic as he…” Said the guy with the eye patch.

“Who?”

“It doesn’t matter.” He turned his head a little bit to his companion showing a serious face.

“Can I fight him? Please!”

“Not today Norv… Maybe next time. First, he needs to survive against me!” Said a man with an eye patch.

“Fine… You’re no fun Mark” Said Norv who just wanted to fight someone.

Mark took off his eye patch. His left eye was black. He looked at the boxes and containers by the wall and moved them without touching them. He created stairs for himself to walk down. In mid-way, he stopped and looked at Diarem.

“RED HATS! Block the gate! It’s my time to play with those toys!” Yelled Mark.

The only way out of the warehouse was blocked by forty men in red suits. Mark looked around and the only one who fought his attention was Diarem. Mark looked behind him at the container that he used as stairs and threw it at Diarem with his magic. For some reason, Diarem couldn't use the same magic as this guy.

Hans jumped in front of Diarem and with his saber, he cut the container into two pieces. Mark wasn’t very happy about it because he wanted to see what Diarem is capable of.

“Don’t interfere, Hans! Unless you want to die today!” Shouted Mark.

Alex fired one bullet. It stopped before Mark’s head. He grabs the bullet and turns in toward Alex. Alex was hit in the shoulder by his own bullet. Mark was getting more nervous. He looked behind him again and used containers and boxes to create a wall splitting yard in two. He even pushed Hans to the other side to leave himself alone with Diarem.

“DON’T LET THEM INTERFERE!!!” After those words, Red Hats started fighting again against the others. Meanwhile, on one side there was only Mark and Diarem. Diarem was looking at the big wall that Mark created. He had so much power to lift more than one ton.

“Don’t look away from me!” Said Mark and his left eye turned red. After that Diarem turned his head and looked at Mark. He didn’t want to look at him but something made him do it. Diarem was on his knees as Mark was approaching him. He wanted to move but couldn't

“I’m the top dog of this city!” When Mark said that he put his leg on Diarem’s shoulder and tried to press him to the ground. Diarem grabbed his leg with one arm and slowly tried to stand up.

“How… MY POWER IS THE GREATEST!” Said, Mark as he pushed Diarem away. Again, he was on his knees. Mark pulled out a knife and pointed it at Diarem.

“You’ll never stand up in front of me...again.” Said Mark. Smoke appeared around them from nowhere. It was so thick that Mark and Diarem couldn’t see each other's faces. Something kicked Mark away from Diarem and grabbed him. Mark’s eye changed to the black and dispersed the smoke. In the place where Diarem was lying there were few blood traces.

“Cowards… COWARDS!” Yelled Mark.

“You wanted to play alone… If I also would fight maybe they all would be dead.” Said Norv as he slowly walked toward Mark.

“Shut up… GANG! We’re going back.”

Everybody escaped from Red Hats and stayed hidden behind garbage cans. Elaine was healing injured Alex while others were looking around and checking if they were being followed.

“How is the kid?” Asked Elaine.

“Well… He is sleeping” answered Alex.

“What? After a fight, he is sleeping?”

“Yeah and he is snoring too.”

“What are we going to do with him?”

“Best if he would forget about it. He can’t know anything about us. Charlotte if you could please erase his memory.” Said Hans without hesitation. He knew that this is the best possible outcome for both Diarem and Gang.

Diarem slowly opened his eyes. When he looked around he noticed that he was in his bed in the mansion. There was one more person beside him in the room. It was Elizabeth and she was preparing the tea.

“Wha… What happened?” asked Diarem with barely opened eyes.

“Oh. You're finally awake. Your friend came with her mother. I think it was her mother… and she said that you fainted after school because you used too much magic while playing magic ball.”

“Something like that happened? I don’t remember anything after school…”

"And also... there is another thing..." Said Elizabeth as she approached Diarem.

"Yes? What is it?"

"Why didn't you tell me you can use magic!" Shouted Elizabeth as she grabbed Diarem by the shoulders and began to shake him.

"Well... about that. I found out just recently."

"What kind of magic do you possess?! Tell me or I'll die of curiosity!"

"I'm not sure..."

"What do you mean not sure? Can't you see if this is fire or water or something like that?!"

"Well... I'm probably a unique magician."

"Then show me!"

"I can use only someone else's magic."

"Then let's test it with Helen!" Said Elizabeth as she grabbed Diarem's hand and dragged him out of the bed.

Helen breathed fire out of her mouth by Diarem's head while Elizabeth watched with pure excitement.

"Why did you want me to do it, again?" Asked Helen.

"You'll see!" Said Elizabeth as she looked at Diarem with her fist clenched. Helen knew it was something about Diarem but she didn't hear that he can use magic. As she looked at Diarem, he breathed fire out of his mouth the same way as she did. Helen froze in place because of the unusual sight in front of her. There was a sound of something falling on the ground. They all looked at the doorway where William stood with his case on the ground.

"Do my eyes deceive me?" Said shocked William.

"No! It's real! What you see really happened! Do it again! Do it!" Said excited Elizabeth.

"I can only use it once. Helen, could you do it again?" Asked Diarem.

"Ehm... Sure."

This time Diarem used the spell second after Helen. Once they stopped William ran to Diarem and hugged him and with tears in his eyes he said:

"Your wish came true!”
