Diarem was getting ready to leave and go to the bar since it’s Black Roses base. He was thinking about two things. First, what would be the test? Is he going to fight? Or maybe see him in action in their normal job. The second thing was where the test would be held because they didn’t tell him where to go. He saw the whole gang waiting in front of the gate to his house.

“They are here to pick me up?” Thought to himself Diarem. As was walking toward them, Alex waved to Diarem and said:

“You have a garden, right? I mean, big garden.”

“Yeah… It is quite big. Why do you ask?” Said confused Diarem.

“We’ve got a test ground boss.” Said Alex as he looked at Hans. All Hans did was show thumbs up and finish his cigarette.

“What… What do you mean?” Asked Diarem.

“You’ll be tested in your garden, my boy.” Said Hans as he was passing him. He dropped his cigarette and step on it “Don’t wanna burn your garden.” He said that even though Alex is a fire mage.

After Hans, everyone was going to Diarem’s garden. Most of them admired his mansion except Charlotte who had already been there. The only person who stayed behind was confused Diarem.

“What kind of test?!” Shouted Diarem.

“Fight test of course! What else a gang could test? If you can rob an old lady?” Said Alex as he waved his hand and signal Diarem to follow them.

Shocked Diarem finally decided to follow them with his hands and head heading down. He was concerned about what damage could the test cause to his garden and mansion.

They all lined up and waited for Diarem as he slowly approached them. He whispered: “please... just... don’t damage my home… thank you.”

Jasmine and Charlotte feel sorry for him because they also didn’t want to fight in someone’s home but they couldn’t stop Hans and Alex. Yup. That was their idea to fight in Diarem’s garden.

“You will fight members separately that you choose.”

Diarem closely looked at them. His first thought was “I definitely don’t want to fight against Charlotte. Not that I’m scared or anything… I… Just don’t…” He knew part of Elein’s magic since he has seen her once in action but the memory is vague because of Charlotte erasing his memories. Then he looked at Alex and remembered that he has a gun and he noticed Hans’ saber.

“If I’ll choose Alex or Hans… will you use your weapons?”

Alex and Hans looked at each other’s weapons and said at the same time.

“Yes.” Said Alex.

“No.” Said Hans.

Hans slapped the back of Alex’s head.

“No.” Corrected himself, Alex.

Diarem moved his finger around thinking about who to choose but he stopped while pointing and Hans. “I’ll fight you. Hans.”

He has chosen Hans because he knew that he is good with a saber so maybe he would be worse without it. And also because Hans is old. Forty-five years to be precise.

Only Elaine and Alex were left to choose. After some thinking, he decided that he wouldn’t punch a woman. At least the ones that don’t want to kill him

“And I’ll fight Alex.”

His first fight would be against Hans. Boss of the Black Roses.

As Diarem and Hans were getting ready, behind fences, in the bushes, there was Diabolo watching them. He was there to watch and see what Black Roses and Diarem are capable of.

“Oh! By the way kid. I’ll be focusing on defense! We want to test your both sides.” Said Hans as he placed his hands in his pockets.

Elizabeth and Helen were watching them from the window on the second floor. Alex raised his right hand “READY!” and waved it down “GO!”

Diarem started running toward Hans as he stood without moving with his hands in his pockets. As he was getting close to him, Hans pulled his right hand. At the same time, Diarem tripped and fell to the ground. Everyone started giggling because of his fall. Even general Diabolo tried to not start laughing.

Diarem felt something and noticed that he tripped because of Hans’ magic. He didn’t know how he used it so he couldn’t mimic it.

Diarem tried to punch Hans with his right fist but Hans raised his right hand and stopped Diarem without touching him. Diarem tried again with his left fist but Hans pulled his left hand and also stopped Diarem’s attack. He had 2 hands by Hans’s head but he couldn’t move them.

Diarem noticed that he only couldn’t move his hands. This time Diarem tried to kick him but Hans fastly reacted and punched him in the stomach. Diarem bent a little bit but also smiled.

“Now I see… Interesting magic…You can stop two things at a time because you have only two hands.” Said Diarem as he tried to catch a breath.

“You have a good eye. Yes, I can freeze time in a small area.” Said Hans.

Meanwhile, Diabolo in the bushes was surprised that Diarem found out it faster than he but he denied that even in his mind. “Of course, I knew! I only didn’t think about it that much because I’m not the one fighting! That’s all!”

“So are you going to fight without magic or what?” Said Hans.

Hans didn’t actually know how Diarem’s magic works. It was his mistake to explain his magic clearly to Diarem.

Diarem started running again. This time before Hans pointed his hands at Diarem, he did it faster and stopped Hans. Hans was surprised and got kicked by Diarem when his hands were still in his pockets.

“Good job… You defeated me...” Said Hans as he was laying on the ground. “Ouch, my back… Maybe I’m too old for this…”

“Did Hans hold back? Or is this kid stronger than the boss?” Thought to himself Diabolo. Elizabeth was cheering for Diarem while Helen was surprised that he was able to fight.

“Do you need something master? Something to drink or a towel?” Asked Elizabeth.

“No! I’m fine.” Said Diarem.

Alex faced Diarem and said:

“I’ll be focusing on attacking. AND! You’ll see my full power compared to those other fights you’ve seen me in.”

Both of them went to their position and faced each other.

“Are you ready?” Asked Alex.

Diarem took one leg in front and his fists close to the chin. Alex took it as being ready to fight.
