500,000 Tutorial Credits

Felix found himself exactly where he expected, in the reward room. Felix quickly collected the credits from the table. The next two items were aesthetically cool with no enchantments, making them essentially just credits for Felix.

The next item on the table looked like a half meter long icicle.

Finally a weapon. I kind of have a bad feeling though.

[E - Uncommon] Frozen Wand

A wand made of pure ice.

Spell-list spells cast while wielding this wand have 10% reduced cast speed and 10% increased damage. Effects doubled for ice spells.

Yup, this isn't part of the tailored equipment. Oh well, more credits for me. The System has probably realized these won't ever be useful to me so it doesn't bother when it's tailoring the equipment. With all the quest dungeons it's seemed like the lower rarity loot is random, while the highest two rarities are tailored. I wonder which is due to the bonus rewards.

The next item on the table was a large hand axe with a shaft made entirely of intricately carved ivory. The blade appeared to be simple steel but had frost coating the blade.

[E - Rare] Shivering Ivory Axe

An axe passed down for generations, originally crafted by two men who considered each-other brothers, originating from rival clans. This Axe carries with it their bond, and collective fury.

Swinging this axe consumes mana to coat the blade in icy spikes that dislodge within your victim. Swinging at the air will spray icy spikes in a cone in front of you.

Maybe the higher rarities aren't tailored…

Felix picked it up and swung it around a few times. The mana cost was minimal and the axe sprayed icicles across the room. Unfortunately, the enchantment was System fuckery rather than something Felix could learn from.

Cool item. I hope it sells well.

The next item on the table was a pile of multiple items. It consisted of strings with hooks on either end, cuffs, a full body suit along with some other random components.

[E - Special] Major Restrictive Equipment

A set of equipment designed to strain a human body to the limit of the E grade.

Wearing this equipment will resist all bodily movements by a variable amount. Channel mana into individual pieces to increase their resistance and pull mana out of them to decrease it. Resistance range is 300 to 2500 Strength.

I definitely do not have 300 strength and I don't think screwing with energy is going to get me there. I guess I hold on to this for a while, I would rather have it with the higher level too because then I can presumably use it for longer.

The next item on the table was a gold ring with a small ruby heart embedded into it. Silver wings extended out from both sides of the gem.

[E - Special] Angel's Ring of Healing

A ring serving the function of a guardian angel. The ring will heal and protect its wielder.

This ring contains the equivalent health of a single [E - Uncommon] healing potion (500 health). The healing effect can be applied simply by willing it. It takes 24 hours for the ring to recharge from empty. Additionally, while equipped, this ring will prevent a single death, instead restoring you to 500 health and destroying itself.

I was just thinking I needed to find some kind of healing potion. That extra bit is also nice to have. I definitely don't want to be in the situation where I need it, but I guess it is there. I wonder what happens if I get beheaded or something.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

The last item on the table was a gem with an identical size and shape to the gems currently slotted into his amulet. This gem was a deep blue color that glimmering in the light, reminiscent of a clear ocean.

[E - Special] Gem of the Frost

A gem with abilities that can be granted to the wielder when slotted into it's corresponding item.

Frost: While equipped, your maximum mana pool is increased by 50%.

Felix separated his cloak and brought the gem up to his amulet, where it jumped into it's socket on the amulet. As soon as the amulet was complete, it started glowing a bright golden color. Felix dropped it back to his chest and covered his eyes. After a few moments, Felix opened his eyes and looked down. The amulet was now a white metal swirling around three gems. The gems were only visible through the small gaps in the metal that contained them. Inspecting the Amulet, Felix noticed that more than just the name had changed this time.

[E - Legendary] Amulet of the Wild

A pendant with three gems of mystical power embedded within. Together, the three gems compliment each-other perfectly, forming a unity more powerful than any individually, or even their sum.

While equipped, your maximum health, mana and energy pools are doubled. Additionally, all of your stats have a minimum set to half of your highest stat.

Uh… This item is ridiculous. Holy shit. I know this is going to encourage bad habits, but man, right now I just don't care. From now on, all my points are getting dumped into intelligence. Speaking of which. All free points into intelligence.

Quest Dungeon B

All Rewards Collected

Would you like to leave this room?

Warning: You may only remain in this room for a maximum of 15 minutes.

Yes.

No.

Yes.

Felix looked out at a starry night sky through the tops of the gigantic trees that marred the otherwise pristine, snowy landscape.

Wait a minute, I can probably hit 300 strength with energy buffs now. Man, The System must have planned this all out. Oh also, now I'm done with quest dungeons. That means all that's left is raw leveling, with just a smidge of learning.

Peeking at his map, the next dungeon was straight to the west about five hours of travel away. Felix was eager to get there, but decided he should probably sleep first. He quickly approved the backed up expenditures then climbed up into a tree, which was noticeably easier due to his increase in stats, and laid down on the lowest branch.

Felix woke up right as the sun was rising over the horizon. He decided to check the tutorial screen to see how much time he had left and just in case anything had changed drastically.

Tutorial Status

There are 80,341/100,000 people.

There are 80 days, 17 hours, 3 minutes remaining.

You have completed 5 dungeons.

You have helped kill 0 world bosses.

You have captured 1 fort.

I feel like that's more than enough time, but at the same time… maybe not?

Felix pulled out his flask and decided to reroll it. He was enjoying the tea, but he wanted to try something new. He settled on a fruity slushy drink reminiscent of the drink Mike served him back at Tiki Kahuna, though not quite as good.

Felix ran through the snow straight to the west.

I really hope this one is a puzzle dungeon. I really need to work on my profession, it is falling way behind. Also if it is, I should be able to take on a higher difficulty combat dungeon.

The trees became sparser until eventually there were no more and bare snowy plains stretched out in front of Felix. Just beyond the snow, Felix could barely make out some kind of dark green and brown biome. As he got closer to it, he realized what it was because of the stench carried by the breeze.

Swamp. Gross.

Unfortunately, the dungeon he was looking for was a half kilometer into the swamp. Felix trudged through the murky swamp water and mud covered ground. He weaved around trees for half a kilometer before he managed to find the stone that contained the next dungeon buried in tree roots and moss.

Puzzle Dungeon A

You have found a dungeon. Would you like to enter?

Yes

No

Oh score, exactly what I was looking for. Yes.

Felix experienced a nostalgic sense of deja-vu looking down the nondescript corridor laid out before him that ended in a simple fork. Felix walked down the corridor and stopped at the fork looking left and right. Looking to his right, the corridor ended in a left turn, looking to his left, he was surprised to see a door.

He walked up to the unexpected sight and cautiously opened the door. Inside, he saw a very familiar looking rest room with some slight differences. In the room lay the same fountain and table filled with a feast Felix had expected. On top of that though, there were also five doors leading off of this room which were not in the last dungeon. Felix opened them one by one.

The first room was a large room with desks all the way around and a table in the middle. The desks had clamps of all different kinds, magnifying glasses and other miscellaneous tools for tinkering. The next room was what appeared to be a weapons testing facility. There was a half wall with a hole in it and a window on top of that. On the other side of the wall, through the window, there was a single target dummy. The third room had a single desk spanning one wall with a different set of tools from the first room. The fourth room was completely empty but the walls were made of a slick black material. The last room was simply a long corridor.

I know I've spent most of my time recently in dungeons, but this one feels different. The quest dungeons were indistinguishable from the outside world, this one feels like a dungeon. Nothing to do but get started.

Felix excitedly ran out of the rest room and through the corridors jumping off of walls to change directions. With his memory skill mapping the paths for him, he just ran. After running in a random direction for 10 minutes, he turned back and started mapping out a radius from the rest room. It wasn't long before he found his first room. Judging from the map of the last dungeon, this room was most likely a green room.

Now that I have a profession though, these are probably very different. Not sure how much of my experience in the last dungeon will translate to this dungeon.

The room was square with walls that were about 10 meters to a side. In the middle of the room, was a workbench with tools similar to those found in one of the rooms Felix explored off of the rest room. On the table was a simple, common longsword. Across the room from the door Felix entered from was another longsword on top of a pedestal on the left side with an empty slot for another to it's right. To either side of the room, covering the walls, were more longswords. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
