CHAPTER 32: THE RACE AGAINST TIME, UNCOVERING THE DEMONIC PLOT IN THE SANDSEA DESERT

Whilst John and his companions were at the Mirage Marketplace, the morning sun rose over the Dwarven Kingdom, King Holymir paced back and forth in his throne room, his mind racing with the information he had received from his scouts. Demons gathering in the north could only mean one thing: trouble. He needed to act quickly to protect his people.

He summoned Lirien, his most skilled scout and hidden protector. "Lirien, I need you to investigate the demon activity in the north. Find out what they're planning and report back to me."

Lirien nodded, understanding the urgency in the king's voice. "I will leave at once, your majesty," she said before departing the throne room.

Days later, Lirien returned with grave news. "Your majesty, the demon generals have left their posts and are moving towards the SandSea Desert. It appears they are planning something big."

King Holymir furrowed his brow. "This is troubling news indeed. We must find out what they are planning and stop them."

He made his way to the royal library of the dwarves, determined to uncover any information that might help them in their quest. He spent hours poring over books related to the SandSea Desert, searching for any clues as to what the demons might be up to.

Eventually, he came across a tome hidden deep in the library. The book described the story of the Holy Knight and the Evil Wizard, and how the Sandsea Desert came to be. The tale spoke of an advanced civilization that once thrived in the lush forest that now lay buried beneath the sand.

King Holymir's heart sank as he read of the sorcerer's corruption and his battle with the Holy Knight. He was relieved to read of the knight's victory, but troubled to learn of the sorcerer's plan was related to the abyss.

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

As he finished reading the tome, he realized that he needed help. He called upon the newly formed Council of Dwarves, asking for their advice. "We need to find out more about these current matters," he said. "They could hold the key to stopping the demons and resolving a grave situation."

The council members exchanged worried glances before eventually inviting Shield Bearer Tholmir, the former king of the dwarves, to their meeting. Tholmir's weakened state had caused him to abdicate his throne, but he had recently been transformed by an ancient dwarven relic that had restored his strength.

Tholmir listened intently, his eyes gleaming with great wisdom, as King Holymir recounted the story of the Holy Knight and the Evil Wizard. "There is more to this story than you realize," Tholmir said, taking a deep breath. "The tale speaks of Hidden Underground Mana Towers that the sorcerer created as a backup plan. They were meant to invite the abyss into the SandSea Desert and turn the continent into a subsidiary part of the abyss."

King Holymir's eyes widened in shock. "If the demons are after those towers, then we must find them first. But where do we start?"

Tholmir leaned forward in his chair, his eyes gleaming with determination. "We start by searching the SandSea Desert. If those towers exist, then they must be buried deep within the sand. It won't be easy, but I believe we can do it. But before that, let us find council with the Elven King Elwyn."

King Holymir nodded, feeling a newfound sense of hope. "Then let's begin our search. For the sake of the light that exists, we cannot let the demons succeed."

As they left the council chambers, King Holymir couldn't help but think of the immense responsibility that lay upon his shoulders. He had to find those towers and stop the demons, no matter the cost.

He turned to Tholmir, "My father, your wisdom and experience would be invaluable in this quest. Will you join us?"

Tholmir nodded, his eyes full of determination. "I will do whatever it takes to protect our people and our kingdom, my son."

Together, the group made their way to the Elven Kingdom to seek counsel with King Elwyn. The journey was long and arduous, but they finally arrived at the magnificent palace of the elves.
