As John, Isabella, and Ozlo approached the Mirage Marketplace, they couldn't help but marvel at the sight before them. The name was aptly chosen, as the marketplace seemed to appear and disappear like a mirage, thanks to the peculiar angle of light reflected by the heat of the Sandsea Desert.
But there was more to the Mirage Marketplace than just an optical illusion. The marketplace was surrounded by miniature oceans, which were once oases before some investors hired mages to change the landscape of the desert. The oceans were connected to each other by long bridges, protected by magic spells and hidden guards from different families and powerful individuals who kept each other in check.
Despite its beauty, the marketplace had a darker side. It was the most famous entertainment district of the SandSea Desert, filled with casinos, gambling dens, and various other adult and non-adult entertainment. The grand colosseum was the centerpiece of the marketplace, hosting several annual competitions that were gruesome and blood-filled.
As John, Isabella, and Ozlo approached the Mirage Marketplace, they couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sight before them. The hidden gem of the Sandsea Desert seemed to shimmer in the distance, thanks to the peculiar angle of the sun's rays reflecting off the sand dunes. Ozlo, who had never seen anything like it before, appeared dazed and confused at first. But as they got closer, he began to understand the true wonder of this place.
Isabella, on the other hand, was her usual competent self, already mapping out their plan of action. She knew that in order to gather information, they needed to blend in with the locals. Fortunately, they had already purchased a secret route from nomads, which would lead them to the marketplace undetected. Isabella took charge of the group, assigning tasks to each member, and making sure they kept a low profile.
As they reached the first island, John, with his years of experience, noticed that something was off. Despite the lively and bustling atmosphere, he sensed a certain tension in the air. John walked up to a vendor talking to the local people disguised as one of them to blend in with the crowd and avoid drawing attention to themselves.
Approaching the man John took out three little rocks and threw them on the ground beside the man indicating that he wanted to buy information. The man with small beady eyes noticed this.
John: "Big man, do you know where I can find a good gamble around here?"
John took out five copper and threw it over, he had learned that this was the second step towards asking questions.

Big Man: "Sure. The Mirage Marketplace has the best casinos and gambling dens in all of the Sandsea Desert. But be careful, it's not for the faint of heart."
The man coughed quickly putting away the copper coins, while indicating for John to throw a little bit more to help him refresh his memory. John chuckled and threw two more copper.
John: "Thanks for the tip. Say, have you any new wares lately?"
The man’s beady little eyes were satisfied as he hid the two coins.
Big Man: "Sure many interesting new ones, what type are you looking for?"
John paused thinking for a second to think before replying
John: "Well, anything out of the ordinary. The unusual activity, that sort of thing."
The beady eyed man, took a quick glance before nodding.
Big Man: "Now that you mention it, there has been a lot of commotion around here lately. Rumors of a trinkets moving in, and some people have been on vacation."
This was code word for “A new gang has moved in and people are missing”
John's expression darkens as he listens to the mans concerns.
John: "That doesn't sound good. Do you know anything else about these trinkets?"
Big Man: "Not much, I'm afraid. The market keeps to itself and does not like outsiders poking around."
John: "I see. Well, thank you for the information. I'll be careful."
As John and his team move away from the locals, he turns to Isabella and Ozlo with a worried expression.
John: "Something's not right here. Did you hear what they said about the new gang and the disappearances?"
Isabella: "Yes, it's definitely concerning. We should be extra cautious from now on."
Ozlo looks dazed, as if he's lost in thought.
Ozlo: "There is something about this place that feels off to me. It's like the air is thick with magic, but not the kind that brings good fortune."
John nods, agreeing with Ozlo's observation.
John: "We need to keep our guard up and stay alert. We don't want to become another statistic in this place."
With that, the team continues on their mission, determined to uncover the truth behind the mysterious goings-on in the Mirage Marketplace.
As they moved from island to island, John's sense of unease only grew stronger. Something was definitely not right, and he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Ozlo, although still appearing dazed, was now beginning to show signs of wisdom, occasionally offering insights that surprised both John and Isabella. Isabella, meanwhile, continued to be the glue that held the team together, her friendly demeanor and sharp wit making it easier for them to blend in with the locals.
Finally, as they settled in for the night at an inn, the group discussed their findings and shared their individual thoughts and emotions. John voiced his concerns about the strange tension he had sensed, while Isabella provided some possible explanations and strategies for further investigation. Ozlo, in his own unique way, added his own perspectives, sometimes appearing to be lost in thought, but occasionally offering a wise and insightful comment.
As they drifted off to sleep, John, Isabella, and Ozlo knew that their mission was far from over. The next day, they would continue their search for answers, determined to uncover the truth behind the ominous atmosphere that hung over the Mirage Marketplace.
