"So tired..." I felt my will to stay awake waver laying down on the floor, which felt very comfortable right now.
Whatever Momona gave completely got rid of the pain that I realized was all over my body, and the medication she gave me got rid of the nausea as well. It's over, right?
"..." I stared at the ceiling with a blank expression. Thoughts about what happens after I leave this bunker crept to the surface.
I find my friend, right? I might be able to find her with what I know. I went to drag my hands down my face but stopped because of the blood staining one of them. It wasn't my blood, and that upset me more.
Will people let me do that? They won't treat me like a monster, will they?
It felt frustrating. I wanted to find her so bad, but if I did something bad to her because I didn't understand myself anymore... "Hey, I'm back with some food and a change of clothes! What are you doing on the floor?"
"Too dirty for the bed." I glanced up to the bunny eared medic, Momona. They were carrying a silver tray along with a light blue gown.
She put the tray in front of me. It had a large piece of cooked meat, a brown lump cut open, and a glass full of water. "What is this stuff?"
"Food. The meat is mikof liver, and the water has some stuff to help your bones in it." I nodded as I poked the brown thing, trying to figure out what it was.
"That's a potato... it's edible?" Is it? I went to grab it, but Momona gently stopped me.
"What are you doing? There's a fork right there." She put a fork in my hand and gestured for me to use it.
I used it and took a bite out of the potato and winced at the taste. I expected the food to taste terrible because of the changes made to me, but it wasn't bad. It tasted fine, great even. I felt so much better knowing that food still tasted fine.
My eyes drifted to her wrist, which was bruising, and felt bad that I hurt her that badly. "Sorry I grabbed you that hard. It's been hard to control my strength lately, and being numb doesn't help."
She seemed surprised that I noticed or cared about hurting her. She sighed in relief and put the tray down. "Apology accepted. I'm sure you're stressed. Do you want any drinks or more food?"

I scarfed down the potato and turned to the water. I downed the entire thing in less than 5 seconds. "No, I don't. Thanks for asking."
"Slow down. I'm not going to take it from you." I turned to the liver and took a bite out of it.
It was good, really good. It tasted like actual savory meat and not some strange, rotten stuff. I quickly ate the rest of it.
"Thank you for the food, but could you leave? I need to wash this stuff off of me now."
"Do you need help washing off the blood, dirt, and... paint in your hair? You can't walk right now." I squinted at her, confused for a moment before I realized she was talking about my blood.
"That's my blood. Don't ask why it's like that, I don't know either."
"And no, I'll clean myself." A flash of me at my friend's apartment crossed my mind as I got up and grabbed the gown from Momona as I limped to the small bathroom in my room.
"Alright, but I could help you get clean faster so you can go to sleep faster." My mind screamed for rest, and it was going to take forever to get around right now.
"Just... no undressing, ok?" She gave me a nod and helped me into the bathroom. The room was larger than I thought it would be with a large tub that could fit someone twice my size and a closet full of various towels.
Momona led me to the tub and sat me down in it. She never got rough and made sure I saw everything she was doing to give me a sense of control. That or she didn't want me to snap at her again. "How thoroughly do you want to be cleaned?"
"Not very. I just need the worst of it off so i can go to sleep. I wash the rest off then. Be careful" She nodded and grabbed 3 small towels and a bottle of bright blue liquid, soaked 2 of them in the sink, and 1 of the wet ones she splashed with the bottle contents with 1 staying dry.
She mentioned the bottle was a kind of soap that handled blood well. She got my hair wet and started scrubbing my head with the soap towel. "So, what were you doing for these 9 hours? That's way too long to be alone in a fracture."
I glanced at her. She just seemed curious and not questioning, so I told her a bit. "Being a lab rat, I guess."
She stopped scrubbing my hair for a moment as she thought about my words. "What? You're not serious... right?"
"I really wish I wasn't. I.." We stared at each other as a deep need to vent built in me.
"Do you want to talk about it? I won't tell anyone you don't want me to, I swear it." Her words finally won over my wariness, and I started spilling my worries out.
"I woke up in a metal box with wolf or cat ears, scary eyes, and white blood. I feel amazing doing things that I shouldn't." I curled up and shoved my head into my legs so I didn't see her reaction.
My voice felt so loud as I yelled through into my legs. "I'm not sure what's going to happen to me after this! If I'll be left alone or get taken against my will because I'm seen as dangerous!"
"Oh... What do you want to do with your life then?" I thought about it for a short moment, but I knew what I wanted to do.
"I have a best friend. She means everything to me but I don't know why. I can't even remember her face or name."
"So you're going to find her?" I looked up to Momona. Her face was hard to read, but It seemed to be sorrow.
"No. Not yet. I have no idea what I am now or how I'm going to have to live. I'll find her after I know I won't hurt her."
"Why don't you tell me what you do remember about her?" My head spun in confusion at her request.
"It helps to say it out loud."
I didn't have anything to lose. "She's...
