Bio: Born Scotland 1962 May 25. Born into a militarist family Yeti enjoyed a variety of sports including soccer, rugby and boxing. Excelling as a captain in the teams he played for he enjoyed a very popular childhood surrounded by friends and supporting family. Finishing his primary schooling Yeti went on to take part in training offered by his father.
Taught how to hold a rifle and the importance of keeping his boots in top condition at all time Yeti picked up many old tricks and methods taught over generations of soldiering as well as developing a strong sense for battlecraft. Already heavily militaristic himself Yeti began to conflict with other people in his age group after attempting to harass him which proved to be a poor decision.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Finishing school he enlisted the first moment he could in the british army after his family moved there. Training vigorously Yeti saw himself with the potential of making his way into the commandos especially when given the chance to prove himself in the erupting Falklands crisis at the age of 20.
Finding himself deployed he fought with merit earning the attention of numerous officers looking to take his ability further. However with the ferocity and vigor Yeti fought with he found himself disheartened over the wage he was offered. Surely his efforts were worth more than that. Risking his life fighting as a hero he could do better.
Returning home he found himself looking for other opportunities finding the mercenary scene as the most attractive at the time. Keeping it a secret from his family who assumed he made his way into special forces somehow he found his calling as a soldier of fortune. A reliable leader amongst the stubborn or inexperienced, most followed his example as a veteran who instilled life saving knowledge when given the chance.
Making quite a reputation for himself he earned the nickname Papa bear as a veteran fighter who looked out for those he fought side by side with. One glaring issue arose from his practices that prevented him from becoming a legendary leader among mercenaries was his poor grasp of squad tactics and strategy at large.
With his reputation inexperienced mercenaries assumed him in control of the overall battlescape and the decisions to be made on it. These few instances left teams immediately beheaded of strategic leadership and often saw unnecessary losses due to the assumption the man of highest prestige took tactical responsibility for the squad.
Disheartened by unnecessary deaths Yeti found himself back on the fringe of mercenary work in an effort to avoid such lethal misunderstandings in the future. Over the years he fought in lesser conflicts keeping his head down until he met Marcus. The man seemed caring and understanding but without the qualities required to assume control of soldiers in the heat of the moment.
Nonetheless Yeti found Marcus to be an incredibly competent tactical officer who could read a situation as if to be a book laid out on a table. Finding they both had the traits the other desired they made the decision after a few operations of fighting together to form their own team. As second in command Yeti took on the responsibility of maintaining morale, enforcing orders and providing a keen battle sense for their recruits.
Quickly finding each other working in unshakable cohesion they quickly made a reputation for themselves and the team they led. While Marcus would assess the situation without fault and provide an almost immediate solution Yeti would make sure what needed to be done was completed. Bellowing over firefights, artillery and the screams of battle he became a beacon shining through anarchy guiding the actions of those lost in the chaos of battle.
Forming a highly diverse and competent squad Marcus and Yeti set out looking for more lucrative contracts trying to find that last big fight that would see them set for life. Finding a contractor looking for ecological and reconnaissance reports of the exclusion zone after years of fighting the two agreed it would be the perfect training run to prepare them in harsh conditions for one last big job.
Infiltrated into the zone the contract quickly became dubious at best. With no constant reports the team completed their orders awaiting extraction and received supplies instead. With new orders eventually coming through it became clear their employer had no intention on extracting them. With moral falling Yeti made sure to keep the team in good practise reinforcing their resolve and discipline while they figured a way out of their situation. As time went by however Yeti felt both himself and Marcus without the skills to find a safe solution.
With time ticking by the growing dread of history repeating itself manifested in Yeti’s mind. Every hopeful look and every smile brought on by his reinforcement brought back the faces of so many who relied on him for something he couldn’t provide. Either way a solution had to be found and for better or worse an escape attempt had to be made soon.
