Aaron Fisher

"Would you believe me, officer?"

Aaron seemed to be lost for a moment as he stared at Jake before slowly nodding.

"I understand, Mr. Jake. Sorry for bothering you this time." Aaron stood up and turned to leave the room.

Jake's eyes glinted as he stared at the retreating figure of a police officer, his lips curled into a small smile.

Meanwhile, as Aaron exited the room, the other two police officers rushed over to him. It was his subordinates who accompanied him to interrogate Jake.

"Sir, any result?"

The young nurse assigned to Jake, who was also in the corridor, was staring at Aaron.

Aaron's eyes were a little blurry, but no one noticed. He shook his head at his subordinates.

"No, I think he has forgotten what happened. We must wait for his recovery."

But one of the officer asked hesitantly

"B... But," "The situation has gotten out of hand. We need to collect evidence as soon as possible in order to solve the case."

The murder of four hooligans and a woman has shaken the entire city and instilled fear in the hearts of the residents. Especially after the incident was covered extensively in the national media. Even the country's ruling government has emphasized the importance of tracking down the culprit as soon as possible.

With so much pressure and no idea about the culprit or witness, they received a call from North Mark Hospital that a suspicious individual had suddenly appeared in front of the hospital with four stab traumatic injuries. The Police Department acted quickly and launched an investigation into a man named Jake Miller. However, before they could proceed with further investigation. They were notified once more that Jake had regained consciousness, and Aaron took over the investigation task and came personally.

Aaron snarled, "Do you think I'm stupid? Remember that you are my subordinate. Don't tell me what I have to do."

The officer closed his mouth and looked down.

Aaron shifted his gaze to his other subordinate. "Both of you go and investigate among his colleagues and friends to see if anyone knows where he was last night."

"I will go and check the surveillance footage"

Both of his subordinates nodded and moved quickly while he turned to face the nurse. "Take good care of him. Check to see if he has any brain injuries. He could hold vital information about the case."

The nurse quickly nodded and entered the room. Meanwhile, Aaron had also left the hospital.

..........

After driving for almost half an hour, Aaron's car stooped in front of a ten-story building.

This was the Police Headquarters of Logan City.

Security quickly approached his car, and after verifying his identity, let him in.

The entire building was teeming with people, many of whom were dressed in black uniforms.

Many people nodded as Aaron entered the building, and he returned the nod before moving to the Security department, which was in charge of the city's surveillance.

He scanned his ID at the door, and the door opened, revealing numerous monitors hung on the wall, while two officers kept an eye on it.

The monitors displayed live footage from the city where the CCTVs were installed.

The two officers were startled when they returned to see Aaron enter the room. They immediately rose to their feet and saluted him.

"Captain,"

Aaron nodded at them.

"Relax. I want the last night's footage of the entire area near the murder site."

The two officers nodded, and one of them moved to the table where a computer was placed and he quickly collected the surveillance data.

This was the master computer, where all surveillance data was recorded and stored.

"It's here, Sir,"

Aaron nodded. "Go back and do your work."

The officer gave a quick nod and went back.

Aaron sat in front of the computer, and his eyes looked at the two officers who resumed their work.

The table was set up in such a way that the officer couldn't see what Aaron was doing. His gaze was also drawn to the only CCTV camera in the room, which was not covering him.

After confirming that everything was fine, he returned his gaze to the monitor and began playing the videos in search of the figure who resembled Jake.

And quickly, he discovered a video of Jake among the crowd, walking toward the location of the murder. He looked at the time on the video and noticed that it was almost time for the murder to occur.

Even though he couldn't see Jake entering the alley because it was quite secluded and there was no camera installed nearby. However, this evidence was sufficient to detain Jake.

He nodded internally and quickly removed the data from the CCTV that showed Jake's video. and deleted the data from the previous two days and done a few more modifications before standing up.

The two officers noticed that Aaron has finished his work. They also stood up and asked.

"Did you find anything, sir?"

But Aaron shook his head.

"I had a clue, but I think he is not the one. Anyway, I have to report the progress. You continue your work."

The two officers nodded but did not ask any questions. Meanwhile, Aaron exited the room and made his way to the upper floor of the building.

...........

Special Ward, North Ward Hospital.

It's been two days since Jake was admitted to the hospital and one day since Aaron turned up to question him. He was shifted from the ICU to the Special, personal Ward.

Even a few of his friends and colleagues visited him when they got to know that Jake was injured gravely and admitted to the hospital. Some of them even gave testimony to the Police about the reunion and Jake's Presence.

After two days, the police still couldn't find the clue to the Homicide, and they only left one officer to guard Jake's room. But something changed after Aaron Fisher delivered the brief to his superiors.

Currently, the nurse's lips were pursed and her brows were furrowed as she helped Jake in dressing his wounds.

She took a quick glance at him and noticed that his black eyes were staring at her, and he even had a slight smile on his face.

He caught her off guard. Even though he was severely injured, he never flinched in pain and always maintained a calm expression when she dressed his wounds.

But her body quivered as his calm voice reached his ears.

"What's your name?"

The nurse's hands paused and looked at him and smiled slightly.

"Finally, you said something. It's Alicia. Alicia Brooks"

But suddenly, she saw Jake furrowing his brows and turning his head to look towards the window.
