Date June 4th 1881

It has been about a month since the first case which was completed in a day. Something that it holds the title of shortest case for the foreseeable future. During this time the public side was growing quite well with some smaller branches being opened in other parts of Boston as the one place was quickly being overcrowded preventing work from happening as efficiently and making it harder for the private side to operate. So, because of that the private side moved into a different office that was also close to the office. In it the planned facilities that were originally planned for the first building were partially moved to them. Though a crime lab and morgue were still opened to be used in the public side to help the investigators which grew by a large amount. They were now approaching around 200 support staff for the public side and 400 agents that handle the jobs. On the private side as the new building was being renovated more workers were brought in to manage the public side as well as to staff the private side. Along with that. A larger forensic team was brought in consisting of 20 forensic scientists and 2 more pathologists were brought in to create a new forensic team. Along with them. State of the art lab equipment was brought in for the FS (Forensic scientist) team could use to assist the private side. Though several were sent to the lab that works in the public side though without the fancy lab equipment. Since most of the modern equipment was moved out of the public office with some exceptions. Since all private operations were moved to the private headquarters building.

SHORT STORY 1

Here's a small story that is usually between cases. These will have a small story or event that occurs between a team and lucia. These usually have no bearing in any other story and just serve to create some characterization for the main characters.

It was also at this time that Lucia's luck ran out her secret bedroom was found out when Tanya accidently stumbled in when a couple of the members of the A team got up in the early morning to investigate the rumors surrounding where Lucia sleeps. All of them except of Lucia of course got up early and went to the public headquarters where Lucia's office was the only office besides Kirgil which weren’t being transferred to the private side headquarters since Kirgirl handles the management of the public side and Lucias office stayed because she helped run both sides and Since grant oversees both sides and is responsible and the public leader of the public side of the company meaning that Lucia has to keep an office in both buildings. When the A team approaches Lucia’s office, they quickly see that she is not on the couch sleeping which was what they expected her to be. They also know that she is not in the dorm as they had already checked, and she couldn’t be in the new building since it is still under renovation. So, they decide to search the room to see if the rumors of their being a secret room that Lucie sleeps in are true. As they are searching Tanya discovers a strange part of the wall that looks different then their rest of the wall and realizes it is a secret doorway and quietly calls everyone over. After a little bit of investigating, they finally manage to find the mechanism to open the door. After the doorway opens, they all make a collective Uh sound. The sights that made them say that was one of a nice sized bedroom with a queen-sized bed and in front of that being a tv. They then see that a game system is hooked on it. In the corner of the room, they can see a desk and desktop that they can only reasonably guess isn’t for work. They also see a dresser and cabinet that as they look at have what they can think of as Lucia's entire wardrobe or at least a good majority of the clothes she wears on a daily basis. There are also several shelves with nick knacks on it and the floor seems to be plain and Lucie didn't install a proper floor instead using rugs to act as a sort of carpet. The one thing that is different than most bedrooms being a window. Which this one is missing and at the other side of the room they see a door that they guess goes to a bathroom with maybe a simple shower. But the thing that makes them really go uhh is the topless girl in only panties laying on the bed that looks like she is 15 even though her height is that of someone 1-2 years younger than that and is smaller in body size as well to the average 15 year old sleeping on the bed with no covers on making her body fully visible to the a team at the doorway who have all frozen in panic, as they can’t help but stare at her as they think how confident she was that no one would walk into her secret room. Some of them tried to walk out when Monica accidently tripped on one of the rugs. This wakes up Lucia, who gets up immediately coming to eye with several of the A team that turned around when Monica tripped and stopped in their tracks when they saw her staring at them. They then stop in their tracks for several seconds as all of their faces turned a collective red out of embarrassment. The A team who has just been caught snooping in the room red handed and accidently saw the closest person they have to a boss topless. All know that they have collectively fucked up. As for Lucia it is that she woke up to her team staring at her when she was topless. What happened next could be seen as a common trope thing as Lucia out of embarrassment threw anything that can get her hands on the team and cursed their names as they beat a hasty retreat out of the room. Lucia then hastily got dressed and walked out of her room. What followed was an awkward conversation in which an exchange of allowing Lucia to keep a room in the public headquarters building for the time being. They then awkwardly walked away, and all parties involved did everything in their power to forget that incident.

Other developments that have happened are the creation of a research division whose goal is to research objects or creatures found during or after investigations to either understand or to create a way to combat them in the case of beings. Their lab is in the basement of the private building. The area, the research labs and forensic labs and morgue are called the research wing as the area is mainly developed for research and labs. Though the research away can be further broken down into two areas at this time. One being the general research the other being the forensic area. This wing is in the basement 2,3 floor (meaning two floors down ex -3,-2,-1,0/ground floor,1,2,3,. Highlighted numbers are where the basement floors are, so it is inverse of how floors are normally numbered.) With expansions being planned out. The first basement floor is being used as a storage room with a secondary purpose of hiding the existence of the lab on the bottom two floors because the way the labs look like a modern lab compared to the rest of the building which looks like it is from the 1880s. Other things that were brought from the modern room are more staff of all categorically. Which include the research staff which has experienced scientists with backgrounds particularly in chemistry and Biology as with scientists from multiple of their subfields. But there were also scientists with degrees in botany, geology and anthropology. That was brought in, and each field was given their own research area. And each lab room can be turned into a room used into an experiment happens and can be cleaned and replaced with another experiment or a place where lab equipment is kept. The building for the private area is built to be substantially bigger than the public and along with the building the land around it was acquired with the help of city hall. To allow for future expansion and in the future a new building that can be larger once the first skyscrapers start appearing. In order to hinder the technological advantages, they have.

Though at the moment the private HQ is a 7-story building which is one of the tallest buildings in the city. It is around 25000 sq ft a floor meaning it is around 175 thousand sq ft. The First floor is where the reception is and some offices. The reception area is open to the public to keep up the appearance that the building is an office building for the public side which is helped by the city hall clouding the true nature and keeping hidden the plans of the building and building permits to expand the basement of it. The reception is kept open to the public to avoid suspicion and to be able to direct anyone who came thinking it was part of the public building City Hall also promised Lucia to help to deal with anyone who gets suspicious of the actual purpose of the building or activity in that building or any of the company's buildings in Boston. Which at the moment Lucia isn’t worried about but she knows that is going to be changing as the years pass and the company grows and expands operations. But for now, the ability to pretend that the building is for administration purposes only and does not have any part of meeting with customers. Is enough for the building to keep its disguises up. But unlike the Public building and branch which has regular guards that are hired from World C. All the guards of the security team with the ones in the public area wear plain clothes wearing business attire of a suit and tie and dress pants and have the bullet proof vest underneath the dress shirt. They also only carry a sidearm which is hosted under the suit coat to prevent any visitors being scared or becoming suspicious. But in order to leave the reception area and head to the elevators since only employees from the modern area will be working there and soon enough, they wouldn’t have to hide the fact that they have an elevator. They have to go past a security checkpoint that is always manned and past that the security is in full tactical gear and are fully armed. There is also a qrp squad in the first-floor security which triples as a place where the cameras in the building are monitored, a place where the guards can go and take a break and lastly where the qrq can stary and quickly respond to any trouble. It is located by the security checkpoint. Which works by having a hallway going out of the reception floor. On the left side of the hallway is a window that goes into the security station The guard that is in there is the one that operates the security door that secures the rest of the building. 2 guards also stand outside in front of the door as extra security and to shoo away anyone that gets too noisy and tries to investigate. The guard post by the reception and by the deliveries area are manned by plain clothed security. But the two other security stations one being to get into the research wing and to get into the archive area are guarded by guards in tactical uniforms. The reason that they are there is to ensure that the two areas are only accessed by those that have a reason to and as well to provide extra security to the areas. And less about worrying about employees trying to sneak in. This is apparent since unless they are on security alert, they are only managed by one person who controls the doors and sometimes for the late shifts on days there might be times when it is unmanned, and the high-level employees can access it using key cards. Though this type of security station is limited to the internal security stations and the outer ones always have at least three guards manning. In the other people are people in social sciences most notably Psychology, criminology, linguists, archaeologists, and other people in social sciences to establish the equivalent to the research wing which is called the social science area which is located on the second and third floor. On those floors it is where the archive is located, and it is where the reading material that the company has acquired is stored as well as the reports of the investigation and reports from experiments conducted. Apart from those two things it is laid out similar to the public Hq building in how the private section looked like.

DATE: OCTOBER 17TH, 1881

Over the past several months things got into a rhythm for the A team with them handling several small tasks for city hall. These tasks included providing some dirt on a political rival or helping solve some cold cases. Or cases along those lines. While almost everyone on the team disagrees with doing the city hall dirty work. Well except for Lucia and Koko who are the only ones who don’t care about doing. The others do it because they know that it will make things 10 times easier if the political machine of the region sa796f87aupports them in their efforts. So, they agree begrudgingly with Lucie's reasoning. Other things that have happened is that the renovation of the above ground building of the private side HQ was finished and the lab portion was 50 percent done. The public side was quickly getting renown as a reputable pi firm throughout the region and Lucia soon predicted that they would expand to New York in Both the public and private area. Things that were brought in from the modern world were more computers and a server to create their own internet area in the private side Hq. It is planned to be put in the basement in a locked area that would then be put under guard, but it is in the to do list with the construction of the labs in full swing. Walkie talkies were also brought in as temporary communication devices were built after better coms equipment were installed. There is also a new batch of modern weapons and ammo. Among them are several machine guns and more advanced weaponry including a grenade launcher and law. Those being for emergency cases.

SHORT STORY 2

NOTE TAKES PLACE IN JULY.

Lucia’s POV

Lucia is eagerly walking around her room holding her two-piece bikini in her hands as Tanya and Monica walk in

Monica: What do you have a bikini out for.

Lucia: What do you think I am going to go to the beach,

Tanya: So, you're saying that you are just going to go by yourself.

Lucia: No, I was planning on inviting you.

Monica: So, when do you plan on going to the Beach or wherever.

Lucia: Today. Oh yeah, it's not a good idea to invite someone on the day of it. But to be fair it was quite a spontaneous idea on my end as well.

Tanya: How about we postpone it until tomorrow.

Lucia: Sure thing.

So, after that conversation the entire A team and Lucia prepared to go to the beach inviting some of the tactical soldiers as well. Much to the disappointment of those on duty. Causing a second beach day to be planned several. But what everyone forgot about was the cultural difference and what was appropriate to wear at the time. So, what practically everyone wore to the beach. Could best be said as in the view of the social norms of the 1880s until the 1960s because described in the same way as being totally inappropriate as the swimwear looked more like a one-piece blouse or just to put it simply a lot more conservative.

The planning of the trip took the rest of the day because Lucia was actually just planning to go by herself. But ended up taking the entire A team as well as the entire assault tactical team to the beach. So, in preparation. Around 40 swimsuits had to be brought in from the modern world since it was a unanimous refusal at wearing the time period swimsuits. Though it was easier since all 40 were girls that were around the same size so sizes would be similar. just choose their own. The only thing left would be to get enough food and water. Then Lucia called city hall and talked to the mayor Flyn. But Lucia was surprised when he asked her to bring his two daughters to the beach who are about the same age as Lucia. Lucia quickly agreed after asking if she could give them the swimsuits to wear. Which the Mayor allowed but was confused as to why. So, after getting two sets of a bikini, and once piece and two pieces. After getting off the phone Lucia took off the military stylied Uniform that she normally wears and put on a tee shirt and shorts (girl length shorts) and then Lucia went to the mayor's house. Which was a nice sized Victorian looking mansion. Just as Lucia was about to enter Mayor Flyn called out to Lucia. The two of them then walked into the mansion grounds talking about her plans tomorrow with the mayor nodding with interest. They then reached the entrance where two girls who looked like they were a year apart stood.

They then introduced themselves. After basic greetings they went into the house and went to living room and started talking about the trip

Flynn: I am kind of curious as to why you want them to wear the swimsuits you have. I can assure you that they have their own swimsuits.

Lucia: Yes, I can assume that they have their swimsuits. It is just that it would work better if they wore the ones that everyone else is going to wear. Oh, and keep in mind I brought several types of swimsuits. The reason that it would be better for them to wear a similar type that everyone else is wearing is one that it would be easier to blend in so they would stay safer if they do. Because I can guess that is one of the reasons you asked alongside meeting people their own age. And there reason why we aren’t wearing one that are similar to the ones you're wearing are one they don’t have any and two is that they don’t like that type that your kids probably have.

Flynn; I see can I see what types of swimsuits your people are going to wear,

Lily: I wonder what they are going to look like.

Ello: I can’t imagine how much different they are going to be then from ours

Lucia then took out the 3 types of swimsuits. Which caused everyone in the room to stare at the swimsuits as Lucia grew a confused look onto her face. This lasted until Flynn said something.

Flynn: Are these what you and your people are going to be wearing tomorrow?

Lucia: yea what about them they are what everyone is going to where. I am not sure what is weird about the…

As Lucia says, she realizes what was wrong with them. They are way too skimpy by 1880s standards that is. At that time Flynn’s face is between confusion and annoyance. While Lily and Ellas have a confused look on their face as they haven’t seen anyone else wear or at that rate even see any bathing suits like those. But at the fact that Lucie said that she and all her people would be wearing similar swimsuits caused the two girls to become quite curious and want to try them on.

Flynn: I see so that is why you brought them over. From the look on your face, it looks like you are unaware of the laws about clothing. But because of everything you have done I will tell the police about you and make sure you aren’t hassled by the police. As with my two girls. I Am unsure but it looks like they are quite curious, so I am going to leave the choice up to them.]

Flynn says the last part with a sigh.

Lucia then after making sure they are the correct size gave them each 3 types and over the next 1 hour they tried them on. Lily ended up choosing the Bikini and Ella chose the one piece. Lucia also gave each of them a tee shirt and shorts to go over the swimsuit when they headed to and left the beach. The two girls looked quite curious at the strange looking clothes and asked for more. Which Lucia agreed to as long as they didn’t give it away to them or say who they got it from. Which those two happily agreed to. Lucia told them that she would give them some tomorrow after they went to the beach. After that Lucia headed back to the office and got around a box of clothes for each of the girls which contained some pajamas, underwear, tee shirts. Shorts and jeans and short skirts and put them their names on it and put it by the exit to her office

The day of the beach trip arrived, and everyone had got ready wearing their swimsuits and just wearing a t- shirt and shorts over them. All of them also had the bags that had the supplies for the beach day as well as several umbrellas. They had then loaded it onto a carriage they had rented for the day. They managed to fit everything quite easily. But to make it easier While they were packing, Lucie and several from the A group Picked up the girls from the mayor's house. When they arrived there, they discovered they were already ready to go. So, after a quick talk they quickly headed back to outside the Dorm where they were just finishing up preparations. Before they left the A team and leader of the tactical team had a quick chat about what was happening. The big points of the quick talk were the safety of the girls they brought with them meaning that they would have to bring a couple sidearms in case of an emergency. And have one tea with them at all times. The other one was their clothes and what Lucie realized at the mayor's house. As Lucie said that there was a slow progression of OH yeah as they realized it. The conversation then was that it was fine since the only thing they have to worry about is people staring since the mayor promised to get the police to turn a blind eye to them for the day as a thank you for bringing his children to the beach. After that they got several pistols with suppressors for emergency use as well as a couple of tasers and put them in their things. They then gave a general talk to everyone about expecting to be stared at which was followed by oh and the girl's security detail was assigned. The security detail would be lucia for most of the day with several others pitching in at various times so Lucia doesn’t have to be with them the entire time. After that discussion they started to head towards the beach. The beach was one of the best in Boston and because of the day it is reasonably busy with the beach being lively with several thousand people at the entire beach Lucie guesses. But thankfully they find an area that is open and then they park the carriage. And take things out.

As they do that the people around them start to look up when they see around 45 teenage girls and several women who they had mistaken as their caretaker.

Once they finish taking everything out the girls start to take off the clothes, they have over their bathing suits and put them into their bag and then start to put on suntan lotion.

But as that happens the onlookers go from confusion to horror and disgust as they see how the teens and adults both alike wear clothing that (from the 1880s) was skimpy. Some went up to them and asked them if they were ashamed of them. They were replied by a no or some version of it. Causing them to become disgusted and confused as to why they would wear that. When they then asked the adults who they think were their guardians to only be thrown for another loop when they see one of the adults being ordered around by one of the teens in a way that made them even more confused. Most of the people that tried to ask them directly just gave up with the satisfying conclusion in their mind that they just had no shame. Meanwhile others who were disgusted more specifically those that had brought their children to the place took a different tactic along with some people who were more conservative and thought that the authorities that were in charge of would stop them and get them to wear clothes. But that failed as they refused which meant that they would have to get the police involved so they got the beach officials to get them to come. But that never happened and whenever they saw police officers, they tried to get them to stop the group of primarily teens to cover up. They always suddenly had something to do. So, thanks to the promise from city hall, they were able to enjoy the day with minimal interference. So, when night came, they first headed back to the dorm and unloaded the carriage with the beach stuff and put around 8 boxes filled with clothes. In total each girl got around 200 pieces of clothing. They ranged from underwear (underwear includes bras) and socks to skirts to shirts and pants, and even a couple of military uniforms and school uniforms because they thought they might be interested in them. When they saw the boxes full of clothing the two girls went jumping for joy and Lucie could tell that they couldn’t wait to put them on. When Flynn saw the boxes, he was equally shocked and thanked Lucie profusely. Lucie then thanked him for putting in the call to the police. After that Lucie went back to her personal apartment.

Authors note: That's it for the second and last short story before case number two. That was quite a long short story and that is probably the longest there going to go and most will be a little shorter. Though compared to the cases they are already short. The short stories are meant to put a break between the cases and the long list of things that the other part of the in between which doesn’t really involve the characters. So, these short stories help with characterization and are for short, interesting things that they a team might do and how they interact with the C world. These are meant to be light and fun and not too serious. So, in the future expect in the In between at most two short stories.
