Date April 20th, 1882
It has been a couple of weeks since the last case and the A team and tactical team have taken much-needed R&R to recover from the gruesome sights they saw during the last case. At the same time the bodies of the victims and the monster. The monster is given the name Shogeth which is found in the book found at the scene. The Shogoth is then dissected with the entire thing being filed and then the organs are put in vacuumed sealed glass containers and it’s in or it is equivalent to it is taxidermized and put in a freezer to prevent it from degrading in quality. Meanwhile, the human victims are thoroughly documented and autopsied and then put into a morgue that has conditions that allow bodies to be stored indefinitely and able to stop them from decaying. The morgue currently has room for around 50 bodies, but an expansion is already planned to create an area that is specifically designed to store and preserve large amounts of corpses so that they can be used for experiments and used as actual models of actual wounds to them. The planned storage area is planned to fit around 500 bodies which are planned to hold them over for a long time because they are unable to bring back all the bodies they find. The book that was found was studied thoroughly with much information being found. The compiled report took much longer because it was over 500 pages long and had to be put into 2 books so that they would be reasonable sizes and easy to handle when using for it. Also, they are put into online versions.
(A NOT SO) SHORT STORY 4 POV: LUCIA/ALICE
Lucie/Allice means that this story is told from the perspectives of both of them and that it bounces back and forth between the thoughts of the two.
Date April 24th, 1882
On Tanya and Koko’s suggestion, the modern employees with a rank of 6 or higher were asked to give their opinions on the company that was read by the top pr staff and then tallied on the issues commonly talked about. Furthermore, all with rank 9s were able to write a paper on their thoughts on the status of the company and give their suggestions. Through the level 10s which were the A team, Lucia, the head of social research, The commander of the security team and tactical team, and the head vice heads of the public and private side which handle the affairs during major investigations and have to leave to give their opinions in a conference. This had been done in the past and Lucia didn’t pay much attention but as Lucia was going through the reports, they found something that caught her eye. A consistent part of the number 9s report that was mentioned in all the 9s, and 10s reports was that they found it weird and kind of unsettling that Lucia had been living in the Public Hq in a secret room for around 2 years and they all said something along the line that they wanted her to move out of it. When she came to that realization led, she makes a puffy face and said fine out loud. Her secretary Alice who was nearby looked up from her work and asked what she was complaining about. Lucie then replied.
Lucie: They want me to move out of the room in the Hq and I can only assume to move into the dorms. But I will not bow down to them and accept this. They could've just told it to my face but noooo… they did it in a roundabout way, and why is the tactical team saying it. They don’t even work in this building, but they still complain about it. Because of this, I won’t move into the dorms and instead, I will buy a massive home. Though I wanted to do this the whole time I didn't want to be a nice boss, but Alice listened closely. They were the ones that pushed me to do this. So, when they eventually come complaining I can tell them it is their fault that I have decided to buy the house since I don’t want to live in the dormitory, and I was completely happy with staying in the room.
As Lucie is talking, she is crossing her arms and puffing her face as she tries to treat it like a big deal but her attempts at showing it completely backfire as the only thing that Alice sees from Lucia's face is cuteness. While Lucia pretends to be upset which she is kind of, she is most excited since she has a good reason to since she could finally buy what Lucie would say is a cool Victorian mansion. Meanwhile, the only two things that Alice was focusing on during Lucia's rant were the fact that she was buying the house and the expression that she was making. The reason why and the other parts of the rant which Alice was listening to more carefully would not make much since. But thankful for Lucia Alice did not only not catch how it didn’t make sense she simply missed it completely since she stopped paying any particular attention to what Lucia was saying after she said that she was going to buy a house. When Lucia stopped talking. Alice realized that she missed what Lucia was saying and tried to ask about what she did hear.
Alice: What do you mean you go buy your own house? None of us have houses, and where are you going to get the money, wouldn’t they think that you are too young to buy a house?
Lucia: Well 1 I am going to buy the property with a house or rather mansion and maybe an apartment if I can’t find any mansions nearby. Though I probably will be doing a major renovation to the house. Question 2: you guys should've thought of that before you gave all your Bs reasons and demanded that I move into the Dorms. So, I say that you guys had it coming!! (in an annoying and whiny voice),3 I will just bring money in from the modern world and use it to create my wealth and just put it down as my wealth that I had kept hidden for some reason. And 4 no one will care if I am 2 young if the mayor says it is and I have the money.
Alice: Well, okay I am not going to be able to convince you otherwise so let me just help you instead.
Lucia: very well then let’s start house hunting.
Alice: We are not starting today.
Lucia: Yeah, duh I know that.
Date April 30th, 1862, Thursday
Several days later the two of them went to a well-known real estate office in Downtown Boston. The building that the real estate business was in was a medium-sized office building in the wealthiest part of town. The people that were walking past were in formal wear which made the two stand out even more than they already did as they were teenage girls and women were already slightly out of place which was combined with the fact that the clothes they were wearing further caused them to look out of place with Lucie being completely out of place because she was in casual clothing while Alice was less out of place because of her semi-formal clothes. Lucia was wearing short shorts and a T-shirt because Lucia had forgotten or not considered it to be a good idea to wear somewhat formal clothes. By comparison, Alice was wearing a nice shirt and jacket and a short skirt. Though Lucia realized it as they were walking there, she noticed as many people shot her dirty looks. What Lucie realized was the shortness of her shorts. Though she wasn’t too worried about it she did realize that it might have been a good idea to be a little more presentable. But she decided to screw it and just go like that.
When they entered the office of the building that the real estate company is in. The people by the door gave them a glance of confusion before returning to what they were doing. The room they had walked into was a reception room that had marble floors and a high ceiling. Several large chandeliers were hanging from the roof providing light to the room. In it, people were walking toward the early models of elevators. In the center of the room is a reception desk that helps guests out. There is also what looks like a cafe that occupies part of the main hall.
(Whisper) Alice: There are already elevators. I didn’t think that they were already in use. Then why do we keep the ones who have hidden?
(Whisper) Lucia: While it is true that they have elevators, they only have a basic one. The reason ours are kept hidden is that it is done with the 21st-century design which is way different than the one hears because it would be dumb to put in the ones from this period which are a lot less safe and slower. Just so that they don’t have to be hidden. That is the basic reason why.
(Whisper) Alice: That makes sense.
After their quick conversation, they walked towards the receptionists to find out about the real estate office. After giving them a confused look, they gave the location and the two started to walk towards it. It turned out that the entire second floor was used by the real estate company.
They then got onto the elevators and headed to the second floor. They then were in the reception room after leaving the elevator and headed towards the reception desk. The receptionist then looked at them funny and asked Alice who she assumed was there with their kid to buy a house or deliver some documents. She asked what she was there for with a professional smile.
Receptionist: Hello, how is your day going? (Talking while looking at Alice and ignoring Lucia)
Alice: I am doing good.
Receptionist: That’s good to hear, now what may I do for you today? ( while continuing to focus on Alice and continuing to Ignore Alice)
Alice: Well actually I am not here to do anything. I am only a secretary. It's my Boss that is interested in buying property.
As she says that she gestures to Lucia, who has become annoyed from being ignored.
As the Receptionist hears that the smile that was on her face disappears and turns to one of confusion.
Receptionist: OH I-I see what may I do for you? Are you sure you're in the right spot? This is a real estate office for expensive buildings.
RECEPTIONIST POV
Sue had been working for the company for two years now as the Receptionist. The job was nice and had decent pay. She was respected as competent and cool-headed. It was a nice Thursday morning when at around 10 A.M, A woman who looked like she was in her early twenties was wearing a semi-formal shirt and skirt that she thought was a little too short for her likening and a teenage girl that looked like she was 13 or 14 but she had a rather small body and was shorter than the average 13- or 14-year-old. She was wearing a shirt that had some print on it that she didn’t quite understand what it was, and she was wearing very short shorts that seemed more like underwear than actual clothes that people wear outside. Sue then wondered why she had never seen clothes like those before but quickly realized that it was because they aren’t supposed to be worn in public. But she knew that she still had to be professional and not worry too much about the clothes they were wearing for now. She then greeted the woman who she thought was the person who had business and that the girl was her daughter or someone she was looking after. But when she heard that the girl was the women's boss and that she was the one that had the business, she froze. She didn’t know how seriously to take them. She then took a few moments to the way in her options. She decided to be professional and safe and take them seriously and call her manager because in her mind if someone had brought their secretary then she must be rich to be able to have a secretary that goes with her to personal business things. And then in this scenario, Sue knew that it would be dumb to shoo them.
Lucia/Alice Pov
After a few moments of looking at Lucia, she responded.
Receptionist: Okay can you wait here a moment while I get the manager? You are not in trouble or anything, but this is just to make sure that you can afford any property that we offer. I hope that I can understand this.
Lucia: Of course, it’s no problem.
After that, the Receptionist left and headed to the back to get the manager and while Lucia was waiting, she got out two letters that the mayor had. One of the letters was from the mayor personally, while the other was more of a general letter of recommendation that had various signatures in it. Alongside a letter from the bank that had Lucia's financial ledger on it to prove her financial status. But the two letters that the mayor gave to Lucia would help her out more than the bank records.
The reason that Lucia had gotten them was that she had predicted that something like this would happen, so she asked the mayor the day she decided to ask for letters of recommendation to make the issue go away faster and get them to cooperate with Lucia. Flynn was more than happy to help since Lucia had helped the mayor in the past a lot not only through the company but personally as well outside of work. While not asking for anything in return so when Lucias asked for the letter of recommendation, he was more than happy to help. When Lucie returned to pick up the letter. She had only anticipated getting one from the mayor. But she found out that Flynn had gotten a second letter of recommendation and got signatures from other people in the government and business whose letter of recommendation could help personally. So in the end the second letter ended up being 3 with there being one that has signatures on it as well as two other smaller letters. When Lucia read the second one she was quite shocked as to the signatures and 2 smaller letters were from. Among the names on the letter were several aldermen, city leaders as well as a couple dozen state legislators and senators. The first smaller letter was attached on a separate piece of paper since the first page was filled up was from the governor of Massachusetts and contained the signature of the governor, and lieutenant governor, as well as the signatures of all their members of Congress. The second smaller letter was from the machine that ruled Boston and contained numerous signatures from politicians and businessmen who the company and Lucia had helped in various ways. Lucie was thrilled with what Flynn had done and promised to find a way to thank him for his help. Flynn said that it would be a good idea to keep the second letter and only show it to them because it could be used again since it took Flynn quite a few favors to get it done
After receiving the Letter Lucia had taken Flynn to dinner as a thank you. They then talked about why Lucia was getting a house at the time and then talked about what real estate place they were looking to go to. Flynn then told Lucia that it was a good thing that she had gone to him for a letter of recommendation because according to Flynn the larger properties would be only sold to those that had a letter of recommendation. Flynn then said that it was officially in place to ensure that only those who had the money to afford it but that unofficially it was to ensure that only people the machine had favorable views of and that the mayor of Boston's letter of recommendation was usually enough to buy anything. After hearing that Lucia was happy that she had gotten the letter. But wondered what was going to happen since between the two letters she had. The signatures of pretty much everyone is of importance at the Boston area level and state level as well.
Back to the present. As the Receptionist returned to the manager, Lucia, seemed to have quickly realized the Receptionist's confusion and whispered something to the Receptionist who nodded and returned to her desk.
Manager: Hello thank you for coming to us to purchase real estate. But because of the type of business is primarily focused on luxury homes. We need to see proof to ensure you have enough wealth to purchase property from us to prevent not only you but also us from wasting our time. And if you want to buy some of the larger plots we would kindly ask if you had a letter of recommendation to prove as another piece of proof of financial level as well as a piece to prove that you have the ability and motive to keep the land maintained.
As Lucie hears the manager talk about why the letter of recommendation. She had to fight the urge to roll her eyes at that. Since it takes an idiot to not realize the level of bullshit that was. But Lucia didn’t care since she had one, and once he was done Alice handed Lucia the three envelopes since Lucia had to have Alice hold them due to a lack of places to hold them.
When the manager saw the three envelopes he looked a little curious which Lucia thought was due to her having the envelopes and there being 3 of them.
The manager had a look at the 3 envelopes and then the girl while wondering who she was and why she had 3 envelopes because normally he would only get 2 envelopes. So he was curious about why there were 3.
Lucia: here I have two letters of recommendation. One is from the mayor of Boston. The other letter of recommendation is a combined one from numerous people with 2 smaller letters. And the third one is from the bank that has the financial records, alongside a letter from the bank manager as well as a private 3 party audit that confirms that the financial records are authentic.
Manager Pov
As the manager is being handed the letters, he wonders about several things. The biggest one that he screams in his mind is Who the flying fuck is this girl. How did she get a letter of recommendation from the mayor who are these famous people that signed the second letter and why did a letter confirm the authenticity of the bank files? The manager then opened up the letter from the mayor and read it in his mind. It pretty much said that the girl was a valued friend of the mayor and should be taken good care of. He looked a little surprised but not very. He then opened the second one which looked like it was hard to fit in. But as he was about to open it. The girl asked if that one could be returned when he was done looking at it. The manager was at first unsure why she would want it back but soon found out when he opened it and found the first page. The letter part was similar to what the mayor said with it being along the lines of this person is a valued friend of the signers and was to be accommodated. The text was not unusual to other letters of recommendation. Though it was a little more supportive than the average one. But what caught the manager's eyes was the scores of signatures from people ranging from aldermen to state legislatures. The next page blew his mind and caused him to once again scream in his head who the fuck is this girl to have a small letter written by the governor and signed by the head of the Massachusetts government and every single member of Congress from Massachusetts to sign the letter of recommendation. He then skimmed through the rest and looked at the names. He then realized why the girl asked for it back. Because the manager could only wonder about what she had to do to get it done and the idea came across his mind that what she had done was overkill. He didn’t know how the financial records could blow him away, but they still did. He then handed back the documents and told them to head to his office. To the surprise of the Receptionist since the manager rarely handles customers himself.
Lucia/Alice's pov
Allice pov
When Alice saw the manager’s face she wondered what Lucia had done to do that. When the manager had given the second letter back to Lucia who then gave it to her she looked and saw the insane number of signatures from powerful people sighed as she put it back into her bag that she had brought and thought that Lucia had done overkill.
Lucia pov
The two of them walked past several rows of cubicles and several desks that most customers would be serviced at. Lucia thought that the manager had deemed them super VIPs due to the letters of recommendation. As they walked through the office to the manager's office Lucia noticed that they had become the center of attention for the manager personally taking care of them and the attire they were wearing. After a short walk through they reached the manager's office which was nicer than the offices they had seen through the windows to their offices.
When Lucia entered the office of the manager, which is a medium-sized room with wooden and typical furniture for the office of the manager. Lucia then took a seat at the chair in front of the desk. The manager then asked if Lucia wanted coffee which she graciously accepted. They then got down to what Lucie was looking for. Alice then took out a notebook that had the list of things that Lucia wanted the House to have.
The things that Lucie wanted the house to have were that the house is roughly in the Boston area. Though Lucia Knew that was probably impossible to have it. Lucia wanted the house to be a large Victorian-style house though that part wasn’t an essential part since it could be rebuilt or remodeled. The main thing that Lucia wanted was that it was a large amount of land that could be used to make getting to the house harder and that it be large enough to have many expansions to it. She also wants it to be sort of in a secluded area but not too far to make getting there impossible. The actual time it takes to get there isn’t a big deal itself since Lucia can teleport. But Lucia doesn’t want it to be too hard to get which may cause Lucia to become suspicious of being able to get to the office and her home daily. As well as when Lucia has guests over which are going to be primarily people from the company and maybe a few people from the world C. The most likely being the mayor of Boston and his family.
Though when Lucia was talking to the manager, she only said that she wanted a mansion that came with a large amount of land that came with it that was in the Boston region that could be driven to in less than 2 hours, at the same time be slightly out of the way. Lucia then said that the price was not a factor and that she didn’t care how expensive it was.
The manager then took a few moments and looked through the files that contained the information that had the land that was for sale and looked through them for several minutes before picking out one and handing it to Lucia.
The file that was handed to Lucia had a picture of the “mansion” which was massive to the point that it looked more like a European Palace than a mansion. Though it did look Victorian. The mansion from the document says that it has around 80 rooms and is around 80,000 sq ft.
It is said to have 3 floors plus an attack and basement. The property also comes with 500 acres of land. It is located by the outskirts of Boston and has a coastline the price of the house is set at around 5 million dollars in era money value. Meaning that to someone that is from the era that much money is astronomical. But to Lucia, it isn’t much money. When the manager sees Lucia looking at he notes that it is the most expensive property they have available. Lucia says that is fine causing the manager to try and hide the excitement on his face.
The location of the house is also really good since it is around 8 miles to the southwest of Boston. While there are a few small villages in the area. Lucia knows that this area doesn’t stay sparsely inhabited for much longer due to the suburban sprawl that starts in earnest after World War 2. This is one of the reasons why Lucia wants to buy so much lang now that even when there's suburbanization the location would still stay slightly isolated because at least a couple hundred acres is separating the mansion from the outside world in all directions.
While Lucia was fine if it was slightly larger. She knew that 500 acres less than 10 miles outside a metropolitan area is a miracle Lucia will not be able to find in the future as the city continues to expand outwards.
Meanwhile, Alice sees the face that Lucia has which is the I want this place and begins to think of what is going to happen when the others find out. But Alice knows that there is no way that Lucia can be talked out of buying the place now and that Lucia is going to buy the land even if the house turns out to be destroyed.
After some talking at the house. Lucia managed to get a price and managed to arrange a tour of the property even though the house was already basically purchased since the deed was already given to Lucie since the letter of recommendation made it clear that Lucia was trustworthy. It was agreed that the deed was to be transferred to Lucias's name. The real estate company would hold onto it until Lucia paid. They then arranged a day for the two to tour the property and the day after that they would give the check to the company. The manager talked to them a little more and then they went on their way back to the dorms to drop off Alice then Lucia went to the hotel room she was staying at for the time being.
Date Saturday, June 1st, 1882
Several days later the day of the house tour arrived. Lucia had wanted to do it on a weekend because she didn’t want to have to worry about creating an excuse to get off of work. Lucia was quite happy that Alice was okay with working on the weekend and had promised to pay 3 times the normal salary since it was overtime on a weekend and for personal things. But Alice said that she was ok with it since she was curious about what the house was.
The day of the tour Lucia wakes up early she then puts on a pair of running shorts and a plain blue shirt because she didn’t know the condition of the mansion and didn’t want to risk ruining a nice set of clothes. She then after leaving her hotel heads to the dorm where Alice is staying. Alice, like Lucia, decided to wear casual clothes that they didn’t want to risk ruining nice clothes as well. They then also get the checkbook from Lucia's office so that they could pay them. Originally Lucia wanted to pay with cash, but Alice managed to convince her to pay with a check instead. When they arrived at the place they briefly talked to the manager and agreed to pay after the tour of the property. The manager then introduces the two to the top realtor of the company. Who talks a little about herself, after that they then head back out to a car that's waiting for them outside. They drive for around 30 minutes. During this time, they see how the urban area turns to something akin to suburban then to rural, and then finally to the forest. After about 25 minutes when the rural area abruptly turns to the forest the realtor tells Luia that that is the start of her property. After another 5 minutes of driving, they reach the entrance to the property which they turn into. They drive for another couple minutes before they start to see the mansion which causes all 3 of their jaws to drop at the size of the mansion. They then reach the gate for the main part of the mansion which is gated off. The car stops and the realtor gets out and opens that agate before driving into the parking lot in front of the gatehouse.
After parking the car, they then get out then quickly check out the gatehouse which is a small building that has nothing inside except the gate controls which can be operated manually or automatically from inside the building. The gatehouse is in decent condition but has a Victorian style that Lucia can't stop associating with horror movies. They then look at the Mansion which while having a Victorian style looks more like a palace than a mansion. There are also several other buildings on the grounds, those being the servant quarters which are located in another building and not in the main mansion unlike other estates where they are in the same building, the tool shed which resembles more of a small Warehouse. Where the supplies for the mansion are stored alongside all the tools needed to maintain the outside of the estate. There is also a building where the utilities are. There are also several gardens on the grounds though from where the 3 of them are standing they can’t see it. They first decide to check out the main building and go in from the front and then check the entrance room then head to the basement and then snake their way through the rest of the floors and then after that quickly go through the other buildings.
From outside the gatehouse building, Lucia sees the massive mansion and notices how it is in average condition since it hasn’t been used for a while but the real estate firm which picked it up had done enough to prevent it from completely crumbling to keep the price up. After looking at the building from afar and then looking at the fountain that is in the center of the lawn that while off at the moment still looks pretty cool to Lucie. They then walk towards the front entrance area. Which is all bricked. The front doors are solid wood with stained glass windows. As they walk in they see the main ballroom and the grand staircases that are made up of wood with intricately carved banisters and nice wood flooring. Several chandeliers provide lighting during the nighttime.
The first thing they do after checking out the main entrance is head to the basement. Compared to the grand Foyer it is less fancy and designed more for convenience and practicality since the basement is mainly for the servants to use to store supplies whereas the kitchen is for large events etc. They enter the basement from the stairs in the grand foyer. Which led to a hallway. The wall and floor are made of simple stone bricks and to the right of the staircase is the kitchen and to the left is the hallway that continues to the other side of the basement. They decide to start with the kitchen since it is on the far left of the basement.
The kitchen is a large room that has several large gas-burning stoves that have exhaust intakes above to prevent smoke accumulation. There are also several wooden countertops and a sink that has basic plumbing in it. The floor is a tile that contrasts with the floor of the hallway since it is slightly whiter than the floor in the hallway which is a dark grey color. The group uses gas lamps to light up their way which allows them to light up the area well enough to see the entire room with the combination of lamps and the small windows that are at ground level and provide a surprising amount of sunlight. The next room they visit is the pantry which directly connects to the kitchen. Several rooms make up the pantry which mainly holds the perishable foods like raw meat and produce etc. because they have to be housed in different ways several rooms for the pantry are close by and connect to the kitchen and a small auxiliary hallway. Following the pantry and the auxiliary hallway is the dry storage which contains nonperishable foods. In both the dry storage and pantries, the rooms are filled with storage racks to try and maximize the space. The last major room in the basement is the wine cellar which is different from the other rooms as it has a wooden floor and a large door that leads to the outside, so it is easier to get the barrels in and out of the cellar. Some other minor room in the basement is the elevator that is used to bring the food to the main floor. There is also a small canning room in which foods can be preserved. There is a silverware polishing room in which the silverware is maintained. There are also several small storage rooms in the basement for misbalance storage.
They next visit the ground floor which contains most of the rooms where they entertain the public and where pirates occur. The biggest room in the building besides the grand foyer and perhaps the library on the second floor is the dining hall which is directly above the underground kitchen. The room is massive with light wood floors and large windows that provide large amounts of natural sunlight during the day. Several large chandeliers provide light to the room during the night. But due to being maintained enough to not crumble no electrical lights were put in yet so the entire building still relies on candlelight or gas lamps. After finishing looking at the dining hall and looking at the elevator that connects it to the kitchen in the basement. They head to the empty game room. The game room is a medium-sized room with lights in the corners of the room with a bar table being the only thing in it. It has a wooden floor along with most of the first floor except for the hallway which has intricate stone floors and a sitting room which has carpet. The sitting room is a room with carpet and several empty bookcases and a fireplace. It is normally used to welcome guests to the house. Well, this is what Lucis thinks it is for. The other minor rooms are several bathrooms and pantries.
After quickly going through the basement they head to the second floor which contains some of the more private rooms. The first room they visti is the library which is the largest room on the second floor and is filled with bookshelves that look like they can hold around a hundred books each at most. The library in Lucia's opinion can hold at least several thousand books if they try to maximize the space. They next go through the several guest bedrooms that are on the floor as well. There is also a more private kitchen that supplies the food to the private dining room in which most meals are eaten because it is much smaller and designed for a few people than the grand dining hall which is meant for parties and large groups of people. There is also a living room that is meant for use by the owners and guests and not for parties. There are several small storage rooms and bathrooms.
The three of them finally go up to the last main floor where the master bedroom is which can be described almost like a small apartment with a bathroom and small living room attached to it. There are also several bedrooms on the floor alongside the closest to hold the clothes and a place where clothes can be tailored. Other rooms on the third floor are another game room which is slightly larger than the one on the first floor and a small study that has several bookshelves in it as well. There is a small conservatory that seemed to be used as a small greenhouse.
While the attic of the house is finished it is usually used as storage for furniture or other pieces of art not being used at the time. But at the time it is empty seeing how large the attic looks because instead of there being multiple rooms there's one large room with multiple pillars that keep the roof up.
After that, they leave the main building and check out the rest of the estate. Some of the major buildings beside the main building are the 2 servants' quarters which is a 2 floor room that is around 25 percent of the size of the main building that acts as a dorm/ apartment for most of the servants. Right next to the street from the two buildings are the senior servant quarters which was where the senior members of the staff live. Other buildings being the several warehouses that contain everything the estate might need, a gardening shed that contains the gardening supplies, and a guest building that contains several guest rooms for when the main building is full but more people are staying over. Several buildings have no obvious purposes.
After walking around the grounds for a little bit they head back to the real estate office and finish the purchase of the house. When they leave the manager presents Lucia with a bottle of champagne as a house present. They then head back to the office. To celebrate the purchase of the house by having the champagne the realtor had along with another bottle of alcohol that Lucia had recently gotten. As Lucia and Alice are drinking. Kirgil, Tanya, and Monica walk in with not-too-happy faces.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
Tanya: Lucie, why are you drinking?
Lucia: Umm because I want to
Tanya: Well, are you instead drinking because you bought a fucking house and didn’t any of us.
Lucia: Wait how do you know I didn’t tell you because you won’t have allowed me to?
Tanya: Did you forget that we monitor the balances of the team, of course, we wouldn’t have allowed it and I don’t have to ask you why because I can already guess why. Ahh, I don’t care since we might have a use for it later and we can use it as a vacation house.
Lucia: but it’s my house that I bought with my own money so I would prefer it if it wasn’t used for business reasons. But I wouldn't mind allowing you to use it. But it’s going to be a while before you can use it because there are going to be major renovations to the property to bring it up to speed in modernization.
Tanya: Wait how are you going to modernize it? And keep it hidden.
Lucie: Well, I only plan for it to be used for personal use and not for major parties though there are some people that we probably can allow in on it since we have already done so.
Tanya Yeah, that being the mayor and his 2 kids. Yeah, we can allow that if they ask. So that's all, enjoy your drinking.
The three walk out leaving Lucia confused as to why Mukaro and Monica had to be there since they didn’t say a word. But Lucia didn’t think about it for long before continuing to drink. The two of them drank the 2 bottles leaving Alice slightly drunk and Lucia very slightly tipsy. But mostly unaffected. They then at around 10 went their separate ways with Alice going to the Dorms and Lucia going to the Hotel she was staying at.
The next day, after she gets up Lucia Immediately starts planning on the renovation. Her plans include installing 2 elevators that reach all the floors, modernizing the freight elevator, Add modern utilities to the house. This means tearing the house apart to add electrical and modern plumbing to the house as well as ethernet cables and adding new fixtures as well. She also plans on replacing some of the flooring Some of the other major projects that affect the entire house are new insulation being installed, smoke detectors being installed, new roofing, the removal of toxic materials that used to be in old houses, new appliances in the bathrooms and kitchens. She then breaks down the renovation projects based on their floors.
The major projects going on in the basement are installing a walk-in refrigerator and freezer where the two pantries are because they are much more effective than the pantries changing the flooding in the kitchen and changing the wood countertops to stainless steel to make it safer and cleaner. The appliances are also replaced with modern ones. In the storage areas. New shelves are put in. and in one of the storage rooms a quantum server is put in that connects to the modern internet to be used as the ethernet server of the house. The other rooms are also modernized with one becoming the Utility closet where the A/c and heating units are. And the wine cellar is remodeled as well. There is also a security room put in with the monitors for all the security cameras in the main building being controlled from there. With the rest being done from the security building.
On the ground floor, the major projects are furnishing the rooms. With several statues and paintings being put in in the grand foyer. In the Grand dining room decorations are also put in but also tables and chairs in that is how it is planned to be most of the time. In the game room a small fridge is put in along with a table and chairs and a pool table and a dart board and a wide screen tv and a couch is put into the room. The bar table is being renovated with the small fridge going where a cabinet used to be. In the living room, several couches are put in along with a table and chairs a cabinet with a China cabinet with a tea set in it. There is also a tv put into the room but part of Lucia’s design ideas is to try and balance the modern parts with the Victorian design, because of that many of the old parts that don’t have toxic stuff in that are kept and the artwork that is kept is art from the era and none from after the period.
On the second floor, the different bedrooms are given modern beds because, in Lucia's opinion, they are comfier and better to sleep on than beds from the period. Hey, are also given a tv and alarm clock. Though most of the other furniture is from the period. The content in the library is one exception to the rule of trying to keep as much as possible of the things from the time zone they are in. But when it comes to the books the nonfiction section has to be as accurate as possible and for the fiction area Lucie isn’t that interested in the period's literature. Though the furniture does apply to the rule and is of the era with wooden chairs and tables providing the places to read. In the private dining room, a modern table and chairs are brought in since it is private and, in the kitchen, it is mostly modern stuff. Like on the first floor, most of the rooms and hallways are filled with art of paintings, statues, and other types of art. In the living room on the second floor, it has a TV, some couches and chairs, and some other furniture.
The third floor is the most radically changed since Lucia wants it to be a little more modern since it is where she plans to spend most of her time when she is alone. So, in her bedroom all of the furniture except the dresser and cabinet are modern. Lucie then places a wine refrigerator in the room to hold alcohol in it, so she doesn't have to always go to the basement. Since even according to her age she would be underage if they were 21 or 18 but at the time there are no laws that establish one (authors note: According to what I quickly looked at online there were no clear laws in Massachusetts relating to the drinking age until after prohibition.) In her bedroom, she also puts in a tv. In the other bedrooms on the third floor, they vary on how the ratio varies for each of the rooms. In the study, a carpet is put alongside a desktop. And several filing cabinets. The bookshelves may have records that Lucia needs to have relatively easy access to. In the game room there's along with everything put in that was in the one on the first floor minus the bar area. There is also a larger TV that is hooked up to several of the consoles and plenty of games and there is also a table that is designed for gambling.
The attic is further renovated into a storage space with a freight elevator being installed as an extension to the building to allow for easier movement of the cargo.
Idng s
In other major projects in other buildings. In the servants' quarters they are given the basic utilities(water, electricity, and ac/heating) They are also given new furniture and the layout is slightly changed to be able to accommodate modern furniture. The same is done in the senior servant area. The warehouses are modified to fit more things and have basic utilities. And have larger doors so that forklifts could fit inside. In the gatehouse, the gate is given an electric motor that allows it to operate easier. It also becomes a checkpoint of sorts. Next, the gardening shed is expanded slightly to fit the lawnmowers and other supplies. The gardens are decided to be kept the same as they are before. Lastly the guest house gets a similar renovation as the main house.
Major new additions. While there are already some major renovations. Lucia decides to add several things. Though she is at first unsure of what level to bring it to. But decides to bring it up to modern standards which most of the companies (that are from the modern world) think they are. Though at some levels she can go above so with the quantum server which only a couple members of the team know about. Some of the major additions are the security building which acts as the security station and armory for the estate in which the security forces are when they are not on patrol, and it acts as the headquarters for them as well as the command center that controls all security devices. Except those in the main building. The next is a swimming pool and two buildings one being a building that is a changing room and the other is where the gear is for the pool. Several other additions are the redoing of the road to get to the place to the best it can be for the era. Closer to the gates Alice puts in streetlights. There is also a small state-of-the-art fusion reactor which is built in an underground facility that most people don’t know about what is in there except for part of the A team who even then, most of me don’t know the specifics of it or where Lucia got the tech from. But none question it and the staff that work with the reactor. The reactor powers the entire estate with little waste. The water comes from groundwater and rainwater which is processed on-site by a small water plant.
While Lucia has plans for more, she knows that with the load that is already there, it would take about a year at the least to finish and be ready to move into.
When it comes to staff. Lucia is forced to pay for the staff herself, something that she has a little problem doing. She then uses staff from the ACF for the entire staff. Which Lucia thinks is the cheapest way to get the staff at the cheapest. Though after considering it for a little bit the brief thought that it might be weird to have the entire staff be beings of various species that were forced to join the ACF army and because of being X have been forced to have the appearance of teenage girls, similar to Lucia.
After finishing the plans she then prepares to put them into full motion by starting the long and hard process of renovating the mansion and its grounds.
SHORT STORY 5: LIFE STRUGGLES
The A team who mostly come from the modern period often face problems living in a period that they mostly thought they would see in textbooks and the fact that they know what happens but have no plans on interfering in it also puts some stress on people. Some exceptions Are Cronus and Hermine aren’t human and Lucie isn’t entirely human though she is around 90 percent with the only difference being unusually strong strength, better agility, and dexterity, and unbreakable mental defense that means that she can’t be possessed or influenced, She is also immortal which some of the other A team members have realized or thought that she is a lot tougher than normal people which is because they saw her take a shotgun shot to the face and have it do nothing to injure her. Though the only people that Chronos and Hermine aren’t human are Lucie and Any who both work for Chronos. So, while the 4 of them (Lucie, Anya, Hermine, and Chronos) may not be affected and have a mental defense that can’t be affected by anything the rest of the A team certainly do not and are definitely women who can’t see several rotting dead bodies and not be affected. Though they have some level of desensitization the events still bothered all of the A team but the 4 that didn’t So because Lucia gave them a vacation.
Tanya, Kirgirl, and Moncia took this to go to Europe and visit the European structures. While Koko Valmet and Schokolade headed on an American tour to visit some of the sites.
During this time the 4 stayed and headed down the fort and managed the company.
----Authors note their tales regarding their vacations will become short stories---
SHORT STORIES 6
DATE: MAY 2ND, 1883
It has been a year since Lucia bought the house and finished the renovation in late April,
One day when Lucia was invited to have dinner with Flynn which she had been to too often, Lucia doesn’t really dress formally and just wears semi-formal clothing, so she went there wearing a button-up shirt and skirt. Lucia then walked there as it was easier to do so than to walk to the warehouse and then get one of the cars which would have their problems getting to work and get there. So walking was the easiest way to get them
Once Lucia got to the door. Lucia was let in and allowed to walk on her own to the house because of her relationship. As she knocked on the door she was greeted by Lily who was wearing a shirt and shorts that Lucia had given them. Ella was wearing something similar to what Lily was wearing.
They then had a nice dinner in which they talked about what was happening when. Flynn had brought up the topic of the home that Lucia had purchased last year.
Flynn: How’s the home that you bought last year?
Lucia: Well actually I only managed to finish the renovations a couple of weeks ago and I have been only living there for a couple of days now.
Flynn: What took a year to renovate,
Lucia: Well a lot of things had to be fixed or redone and new stuff had to be installed since the house wasn’t particularly well maintained before I bought it and I also added several additions to it. The biggest is a pool.
Flynn: A pool, what does it look like?
Lucia: Well it might be a little hard to explain so it would be easier to explain if I show it to you when you eventually come to visit.
Flynn Ok. Oh, and speaking of me and my wife going on vacation, and we have nobody in the area that can take care of them. So if it wouldn’t be too much of a burden could you watch the kids for about a month or two depending on the travel times?
Lucia: No problem I wouldn’t mind at all. So when should I get ready for them?
Flynn: Can it be in about 2 days?
Lucia: No problem
Flynn: I appreciate it oh it might not be just the two since I am going to be traveling with the governor, who has 2 daughters as well who want to spend the time with my two children. Is it okay if you take care of them as well? I know that you have worked so I hope it won’t cause too much trouble.
Lucia: of course, I would be more than glad to. And you don’t have to worry since even if I am not there I will have my staff there who I will have no problem taking care of when I am not there. Also if you don’t mind where you are going to.
Flynn: Of course, I have no problem telling you. We are going to be going to a place I have in Scotland. We are there to enjoy the scenery, play some golf and enjoy some Scotch, and maybe even stop by Ireland for a bit.
Lucia: sounds like fun. If you don’t mind could you bring back a bottle or two as a souvenir for me, please?
Flynn: Sure thing, It would be my absolute pleasure to bring back a bottle or two as a thank you. But don’t you seem a little too young to be into Scotch?
Lucia: Well maybe a little but don’t often and I mainly just collect.
Flynn: thin when was the last time you drank?
Lucia: New years was the last time I had alcohol and the time before that was when I bought the house.
Flynn That does seem that you are a light drinker. Those all do seem like time that having a little drink is a good thing.
As the conversion between them is going on Lily and Ella listen to the conversation and are almost jumping for joy at the thought of staying at Lucia's house with their friends that they haven’t seen in a while. They also can’t imagine what Lucia's house will look like. But the excitement they had gotten from the conversation quickly dissipates when alcohol becomes the topic of it.
The night carries on with lively conversation primarily being dominated by Flynn and Lucia but the other 3 there (Ella, Lilly, and Flynn's wife) Also that time contribute to the conversation.
Then at around 10 Lucia says her goodbyes and heads to the office where she then teleports back to the house to begin the preparations for the 4 girls. She begins by getting their bedrooms ready and preparing several options for sleeping arrangements. Lucia then prepares more clothes for Lily and Ella that they had asked for from Lucia if they could have that they could bring back home with them, but they said that they would bring their own. Lucia also prepared modern clothes for Anna and Tilly who are completely not used to them. Lucia then talked to the head maid about it. As they were talking, she realized that most of the staff looked like they were the same age as the 4 girls. But Lucia knew that there was nothing that she could do in that regard. So, she just continued her conversation without mentioning it to her. The next thing she prepared was the pool and everything related to it. The last thing and most important thing are how to explain the technology to the 4 girls. But as she was thinking about it. Tany called and told her that several of the team wanted to stay at Lucia's house for a little bit. Lucia then told Tanya the situation and what was going to happen if they did since Lucia didn’t want a drunken party to happen. So, after some time Tanya responded that only a couple are still coming because most just wanted to have a massive party. The A team still coming is Monica, Tanya, and Chronos. After the call, Lucia continued preparations by getting food ready. Which included modern food because Lucie just said screw it with trying to hide it from the 4 girls since it would be too difficult to.
Two days later Lucia and the 3 members of the A team were in the cars they had prepared with 2 of them being passengers that can each fit 1 driver and 4 passengers and 2 cargo trucks to carry the stuff the girls bring over. The clothes the 4 are wearing with Lucia wearing jean shorts, and a tee shirt. Tanya wearing something similar. While Monica and Chronos decide to wear short skirts instead of shorts and a shirt. When they arrive at the house, they find the 4 girls already there. Lily and Ella both wearing shorts and a T-shirt. While Ana and Tilly are wearing era clothing.
Tilly Pov.
When I heard that I would be staying with a friend Flynn with Lily and Ella I was super excited. And as me and Ana drive to Their houses we can hardly contain your excitement at how two friends are but also at who we are going to stay at. Since it is unusual to stay at someone’s house that we barely know. But she is good friends with them and because of that dad is ok with it. When I decided to wear a nice summer dress which matches Anas. As we approach Their house, we see them waiting outside but instead of what I normally see them in, I see them in strange clothing that they would have probably yelled at but surprisingly they weren’t. The entire outfit that they were wearing was confusing. From where did they get it to how come I didn’t see it and why is it so short? When the car stopped, we quickly got out of the car and greeted them. Even though their clothes were quite strange they still looked good in it.
Lily's POV Couple starts a little before Tilly Pov
I am so excited to be able to spend time in a big mansion for too many months. Though I am going to miss my dad. I am still super excited to stay at a house bigger than mine, which most houses are not. And I will also do it with my sister and friends that I haven’t seen in a while. We were both so excited that we had gotten up early and gotten things ready, which had been packed the night before. And began waiting for a little too early. But while we were waiting, we were talking about the clothes that we saw in a list that Lucia had given us that were at the house. So we could see them when we got there. After waiting for a little while we saw the governor's car which had Ana and Tilly in it and it stopped and they got out and we quickly greeted them. But seeing them in the dress reminded me that neither I nor Ella wears normal clothes that often. We only wear them during parties or social gatherings, which is ok, though I sometimes wish I could wear these clothes. I think it is a good compromise to wear them for social gatherings. While we wear the clothes that Lucia gave us pretty much always when we are not attending major social events. So, we often wear a skirt and dress shirt to the small gathering. We even wear them to school most of the time. But I can’t remember any time in the past year and a half or so that we wore regular clothes that most people our age wear in casual settings. Since both me and Ella agree that they are way more comfortable to wear, they are easier to wear, and they seem so natural to wear. Both Tilly and Anna seem to be quite curious as to what we are wearing so while we wait for Lucia to come and pick us up, we talk about our clothes. After waiting for about 10 minutes or so. Lucie's car finally arrived, and it seems like she has brought several of her friends. They are wearing similar clothes to me and Ella which confuses Tilly and ana even more.
It doesn't take too long for the stuff to be put on the trucks we then say our goodbyes and then head towards Lucie's house. It takes us around 30 minutes to get there. As it comes into view, we realize that it is bigger than we thought it was going to be. We stop at a gate for a second before entering what I can only describe as an estate. We are then greeted by the maids. Strangely all seem to age but act like adults similar to Lucia who doesn’t act her age at all at times. But I guess they only look young or something.
The main building that we will be staying at looks huge and we can see several buildings in the area. And when Lucia was having dinner with us last time she said something about a pool being built. Which is making me more excited. But for right now we are going to tour the mansion. Before we start Lucia introduces us to several of her friends who are also going to stay with us. After the introductions, Lucia asks Ana and Tilly if they want to change clothes into clothes similar to what the rest of us are wearing. They agree and Lucia signals a maid who was holding two sets of clothes. Each set of clothes seems to have a pair of socks, shorts, a shirt, panties, and a bra. The maids hand them to them and then lead them to a bathroom. While the rest of us wait in the Grand Foyer which is just stunning with the artwork hanging from the wall and the statues. The weirdest thing is the lighting which doesn't look like they are coming from a flame. But instead with electricity. This is something I have seen a couple of times before but, the way it is here I haven’t seen it before. It seems so advanced that it doesn't belong to this era. But I stop thinking about that when Tilly and Ana returned in the clothes that Lucia had given them. Even though they haven’t worn anything like it before they seem to wear it so naturally like they are used to wearing those types of clothes which I can be pretty sure they haven’t. But that just probably speaks to how easy it is to wear these clothes compared to the clothes they are used to wearing which are not particularly easy to wear.
After that Lucia began the tour of the Mansion, while our stuff was being brought to our rooms by several of the maids. The first room that we went to was the game room, the first thing that caught my eye was a strange device that was attached to the wall. I think that all the other 3 were equally confused by it. Lucia though picked up on the confusion and told us that she would explain things in a little while. After that, we spent around an hour walking around the mansion, touring it, and in the process seeing many strange things that I have never seen before. When we finished the tour, we went to one of the living rooms, and there, Lucia explained some of the strange things and we walked to some of them so she could give demonstrations of what they did. It was all fascinating and while she didn’t explain in detail how they were invented we all saw no harm in accepting what Lucia was saying as at most she was probably only leaving information out as to where she got it from. The things that we all found interesting are what she called video games and the tv. But it was more of a passing interest since we were really intrigued by the bathroom at the place since it looked so futuristic with plumbing and how we could control the temperature. Then after going over that for a little bit, we had lunch. That was made by the staff which was equally fascinating as I had never tasted anything like it before but at the same time, it tasted so familiar. Then after that Lucia took us to see the pool that she was talking about, and it was interesting, to say the least. Since it wasn’t a natural pool but a man-made pool that was built into the ground. While we were unable to swim today since we had only gotten there. Lucia had promised to allow us to swim plenty. We then toured the gardens which looked lovely and in comparison, to the house seemed like it was entirely familiar with no hints of unfamiliarity to it. We then headed back and started exploring all the strange games that were in the game room and we spent hours having fun and playing not only the games we were familiar with but also unfamiliar games. While a lot of the house is strange, I have a strange feeling that this is what life is going to look like in the future but how far into the future I am not sure. But what I am sure is the time I am going to spend at this place over the summer is going to be interesting.
Author's note: This short story was shortened a little to only have the first day talked about since I didn’t want this in between to have two large, short stories. These are probably not going to be like this since the Cases will get longer and the time in between will decrease for the start of the 1890s and the 4 cases there.
Case #3.5 Anticosti Island
Date September 12, 1883 (authors note. This is the not actual time that the case starts, the catch-up goes back and explains what some of the team did during the summer and is not told from any Pov and is just stating what has happened to catch up with the reader, hence the name Catch up. This note is just to prevent any confusion. The data given above is where the catch-up ends. The date that is the actual start of the case is given after the end of the Catch-up section)
CATCH UP/ ISLAND OF ANTICOSTI
The time that Lucia spent with the 4 girls and the 3 members of the A team at her house could be described as one of Lucia's Fondest memories that she has of this period. During this time Lucia took it easy and spent more time at her home than at the office due to the lack of major cases and her ability to do some of the work at home at night. When the time was left to go Lucia gave Ana and Tilly a bunch of clothes that they had also fallen in love with just like Lily and Ella had done.
Flynn had given Lucia several, 3, bottles of Scotch and a bottle of whisky as thanks for taking care of his kids. Lucia then spent the next few weeks getting back into the swing of things.
Some changes that have happened are that the investigations of the objects of previous cases have stopped and all construction has been finished. So, to take advantage of the lull Lucia has had the public side to finally start the expansion to New York City. This is part of Kirgirls and Lucia's plan to start by slowly expanding down the east coast, then expanding to the Midwest, and then after an office is opened in Chicago which will act as the Company's Regional Hq in the Midwest. Lucia currently has no plans to establish anything overseas at the moment but the first spot that they would be is London Since it is the Capital of the British Empire and would give them a spot to get jobs across the world.
Meanwhile, on the Private side the biggest thing expanding are the two science groups. Since to be prepared for anything, Moncia wants to be able to build the facilities to handle anything. Under Lucia's supervision. She starts looking to buy an island where the vast majority of the artifacts found will be moved and where most of the labs will also be moved though there will still be some of the basic labs in Boston to be used for investigations while on the island will be where the long-term studies of items will happen. Another reason Monica wants to transfer the bulk of the research facilities to hold specimens captured during the investigations. That was utterly impossible to do in the labs in Downtown Boston due to the risk of them escaping and the lack of room underground to hold them. So, while the girls were over Monica was also looking for islands that could be useful that could be used to house laboratories, storage facilities, and containment facilities.
Monica wanted the island to be slightly larger and remote with a small population. But Lucia wanted it to be somewhat located on the east coast of either the U.S. or Canada. But finding an island on the east coast that is large but sparsely populated was easier said than done but after searching through all the islands. The island was ultimately Anticosti an island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Which surprisingly fits all the requirements better than they had hoped for. Though since it is Canada it means that the private side has to get a foothold in Canada which was easy enough but just extra effort that might have been avoided if it was in the U.s. But both Lucia and the rest of the A team agree that expanding to Canada to acquire the Island is well worth the hassle.
After several weeks of intense negotiation and the amount of gold worth 10 million dollars (1983 value), they acquired the island of Anticosti. Thankfully didn’t have to give the reason as to why they were buying the island. But they had to allow the locals to fish uninhibited and allow them to keep living on the island. This is something that the company is more than willing to do since most of the base with some exceptions is going to be built on the eastern side of the island away from the inhabited part of the island.
After several weeks of planning the design of the base was finalized. The final plan was that most of the initial facility would be in the mountainous (or hilly area) in the southern part of the island. And the above-ground part would be in the valley in the central part of the island. The Supplies for the facility would first come from a port that will be built at the southwest part of the island which is where the valley begins. The port would be built to accommodate the imports of everything the island needs. A road will then be built to connect the two for a little bit, while the first part of the base is built. Then a railroad will be built once the base is finished in its first construction cycle. Everyone on the A team knows that the base on the island is probably going to be in a state of continuous growth and the size of the island provides them with a lot of space to do so. Once the railroad is finished it is going to be what brings the bulk of the goods from the port to the inland base. Though a future plan in the far future is to build an airport to add another way to bring supplies to the island.
The layout of the base is that along the roads there are going to be checkpoints to limit outsides and residents to only part of the island, since technically they control the entire island if they wanted to evict the residents, but they had promised not to as part of their agreement. So instead, they decided to limit them to the far western part of the island. Since the eastern and central part of the island is enough for the company for a long time. But to maintain security they had to establish security zones.
The island was divided into twenty security zones. Each have a security labeling of 1-5
1 is a civilian zone and autonomous. This is only the western part of the island, and the security force is there the least. They are only there to sometimes assist the local cops in some matters. It has the smallest number of guards and those are assigned for the longest time to establish ties to the locals to make interactions easier than if it were done in short rotations. So, because of that those in section 1 are usually kept there and never rotated unless they are deemed unable to get along with the locals and then are never put into section 1 there again. These rules and organization of Section 1 cause it to be run in a way different way than the other 5 sections. The section is also unique as it is the only one where they are commonly unarmed and only occasionally bring handguns on extremely rare occasions, when there are disputes.
Section 2 is the port area and the only other run that outsiders (aka everyone not in affiliation with the company are allowed. The personnel of Section 2 are there to make sure that the people that arrive on the ships don’t wander out of the section or create trouble. They act as police and usually only carry sidearms to keep low profiles. Section 3 is the area that borders sections 1 and 2 This section is to act as a buffer zone in terms of punishment from entering since the start of the section is marked as being off limits and being a private area. But people found are section 3 who are found there for the first time from wandering in from section 2 and every time the residents are only escorted out of the zone in an attempt at keeping friendly relations with the locals and trying to stay fair with the crew of the supply ships. But for the sailors that wander in their multiple times or in a suspicious way, as in a way of trying to intentionally avoid guards or a way that looks like they are trying to investigate. They are then detained and interrogated to find out what they are doing. The personnel assigned to this area were in full gear and most of the time was spent manning checkpoints that are on the roads leading out of the ports or in strategic areas that act as outposts that the patrols can use to rest at. The task of the section is patrolling and investigating any cases of the sensors that are set up as a security measure, being tripped. Besides sensors, the section also has an array of hidden security cameras. Section 4 is the area on the eastern side of the island and the area that is not in the base area. The guards here do similar functions as those in section 3 but instead of escorting back anybody they find all trespassers are detained and interrogated and then often after having their memory altered and then escorted out Level 5 is the Base and the immediate area surrounding it. The personnel here not only protect against intruders but also ensure the safety of the research staff by acting as the guards of the objects being held. As well as any creature that may be held there. Any intruders are detained and interrogated and then the memory is altered, and they are escorted out.
The organization of each section is that at the top there are island commanders which are Valmet and Koko who easily agree to have 2 commanders instead of 1. Then they have their unit which acts as a Qrf force to anywhere on the island that may need it. It is one of the larger units. Then each of the sections has its commander who commands the day-to-day operations of each area. Under each section commander, they have a vice commander, and each platoon is commanded by a captain who each has 3 12-man squads and 1 9-man command squad. This basic structure is used by all sections except for 1 and 2. 1 is organized like a light state trooper unit that assists law enforcement in any way they need. Section 2 is organized like an actual police unit.
Section guard numbers (for the ratio of the guards in the different sections and qrf)( or just how they start as since they increase over time)
Section 1 50
Section 2 100
Section 3 200
Section 4 300
Section 5 250
Qrf 300
The layout of the base is that of the 5 areas of the actual base. In the underground parts, the area is color coated. They are also not located in all the same places since some might be scattered around and be in small sections that are grouped by the function. The first area is the admin area It is mostly outside it is where most of the offices are. The area is responsible for the admin duties of the base including the PR, Hr and finance and some of the legal work since most of it is done in an office in the regional office in Montreal where the bulk of the legal and finance-related personal area since they have to interact with the outside the world the most and having the office in Anticosti would be too difficult to manage.
Area 2 is the dorms, It is entirely outside to make sure that none of the researchers are underground all day. Most of the dorms are separated by the role they play with the guards sleeping in 1 area and the scientists in another and so on.
Area 3 is the security area, and it is scattered throughout the base as in the form of security points that guards can ensure that the area around is secure by having it be worn the local patrols report to, they control the local security cameras, Though the security cameras can also be controlled from the security command center. The security stations also act as places where the Acf waits to be activated. In the detention areas where the guards act more like prison guards the security stations double as checkpoints to search all those that go in and out. The security staff also handles the admin for the detention centers along with the respective area. The security rooms are situated into __ categories. 1 The regular guard stations that handle the surrounding area in ensuring security and organize the portals for it as well. 2 checkpoint stations regulate the traffic in and out of the base and in between the different parts of the area. Their job is to make sure that people only go in the areas they belong in, and that artifacts and creatures aren’t smuggled in or out. 3 is the containment station. These stations oversee the containment areas and ensure that nothing that is being detained escapes. They work together with the staff of the attainment areas and the guards that are stationed here are the elite and, in the mythos, section are the heaviest armed on regular duty. While the guards are the human section use more non-lethal weapons to alleviate the risk that they are taking. But the qrf forces are still heavily armed. 4 the department station which acts as an area command center and the regular stations in a department. Lastly, 5 is the headquarters that commands all security stations in the base and is where the section commander's office is at.
Area 4 is the storage area which is divided into two sections 1 being average storage of supplies and the other being mythos storage which is in the higher security part of the base.
Area 5 is the research section of the base; it is the most important part of the base since it is where the main function of the base takes place. Area 5 is divided into chemistry, biology, engineering, physics, anatomy in which the decisions of creatures take place, and detainee involves testing. The area where testing involves the detainees happens. It is one of the most secure parts of the base and the one most pinned over to be as secure as possible alongside the detainee area. Because it would be bad if any of the detainees escape after an experiment or at all. The other parts of area 5 are microbiology, epidemiology, and several other departments. Alongside a lot of future departments as they are needed. Each department contains a large field and, in each department, not only general studies but also more specialized fields within it. Though some are given their department due to unique hazards that they face that need special construction to maintain safety. The offices of the head researcher are part of area 1 through. The social sciences have a smaller role on the island as most of the books are decided to be kept in Boston to ensure their safety if something happens on the island.
Area 6 is the detainee area; it contains any mythos creatures captured during any operations as well as any humans caught up in the operations that may have been affected by the mythos or not. This is so that they could use them as test subjects as those found during investigations can easily have their deaths covered up and can be used to find out more about objects found and the creature that they capture. In ways that the staff wouldn’t do because most of the time the experiments are planned to end in death. The creation of this department while not controversial for the mythos section is quite controversial for the human part. Lucia’s concerns though not outright objections are overruled and Lucia tells Monica that She is the one to take full control even though Lucia may not have any moral qualms. She doesn’t necessarily think that is the best idea and decides at least until a major accident or near accident to be laissez-faire with the research department with what they do and leave it all up to Monica. While at most asking them to occasionally prioritize the research of an object or phenomenon. To which Monica and the research project are happy to prioritize the things that Lucia asks them to if it means that she will let them do mostly their own thing since the rest of the A team and Lucia still have veto power to stop anything they see as excessively dumb and dangerous. Though it is rarely used.
Monica, Koko, and Valmet are 3 members of the A team that are assigned to be in control of the day to day operations and they provide weekly updates to Lucia who then relays it to the rest of the A team in email form.
Lucia predicts that the base will take around two years to be completed and they don’t plan on taking any big missions until it is fully operational so they can fully utilize it for after-mission reports.
The main research base of the private side of the company may be the most disturbing thing that ranks in disturbing Ness along with some of the forces they battled in terms of immorality and unethicalness of the experiments that were taken there in the guise of knowledge. Though sadly most researchers that have gone over the mountains of files of the millions of experiments that have happened on the island have reluctantly admitted that the experiment were quite praises and they followed all the proper parts of the scientific method. Well except that of the section related to ethics. Which were ignored. They also admitted that the information from these experiments has a lot of very useful information that advances the understanding of almost every major field. This is one of the most bitter moments of how so much information has the potential to help so many people, especially from the information related to the human body and chemistry. But at the cost of the suffering of famous prisoners that happened to be involved in something that ruined their life.
What should become of everyone that worked at the facility especially the scientist is among the big controversies because of the numerous current and former staff that are still alive. I doubt that anything will happen to them due to the protection that they have from several large countries including the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and several other countries, which means that even if other countries want to charge staff for crimes. They will be shielded from prosecution at all levels. The reason from this point in the investigation is unclear but I will assume that it will be made clear as we go through the files and continue to dig through them and uncover the truth behind this organization. The fate of the island is that it will also keep being owned by the company, but its fate is still unsure.
But as this investigation continues to investigate the company. The true scopes of the company will probably continue to grow to a level none of us will be able to predict and they will probably be found to have their hands in a lot of places across the globe.
