Case 3: The Effects of Wiliam Perkins

Case 3: The Effects of Wiliam Perkins

DATE MARCH 25TH, 1862, DAY 1

It is early one morning when Lucie gets a visitor. He walks in the door with a brown suit on brown dress slacks. He looks like he is in his late 50s or early 60s with his greying hair and mustache. His face looks fine but his eyes look like that when something has happened. He then shakes his hand and introduces himself As Walter Mavor, he says that he is the mayor of a small city that is several miles outside of Boston.

Lucie: Hello Walter, what can I do for you?

Walter: Well you see that I have quite a strange problem. There is this wealthy socialite that lives in the surrounding area though it still is within the technical limits of the village. four days ago they had guests but None of them were seen after they arrived at the manor. Some say that she was trying to summon a ghost. This might not ordinarily be a problem but you see that the people from the town are quite a superstitious and religious bunch so they took it quite seriously. The police included, they all refused to go near the house. I heard that you guys discreetly do these sorts of cases if I am not mistaken.

Lucia: yes you are not wrong. So what do you want my company to do? What should we say if something did happen by that I am not saying that it is necessarily supernatural but something that is just a regular phenomenon and something happened to the people in the house.

Walter: Yes I don’t care what is going in on there. I set that your company does believe in supernatural entities is that correct?

Lucia Well this company does believe in things that can’t be explained and you could say that it is close to or is supernatural. But this company is not superstitious and while this company believes in it. We would rather have the public not know the truth in this matter and instead believe in and keep these types of things that do not exist. This is to prevent incidents that happen when people mess with things that they do not fully understand and end up causing massive problems that leave innocent people mentally scarred or dead or worse. So that is the answer to your question. Though you still haven’t said what you want my company to do for you.

Walter: Ah yes so I want you to find out what happens and since if you did find something supernatural, from what you just said you would tell the public. I also don’t want to confirm their beliefs, which are annoying to deal with, so I want you to do whatever you can to make a reasonable coverup for this so I don’t have to listen to being told I told you so to the people.

Lucia: Excellent then we will be more than willing to help out with our conditions. That during the investigation we will be able to seize the items that caused it and any paranormal items that we might find. Though if the owner is still alive we will not steal from them if they are a witness or innocent person in the matter, though we might take it if it belongs to the suspect or citizen if they are dead. The second is that we want our involvement in this a secret so while we may set the scene for the cover it has to be your people that discover it and bring it to the public and third is that we don’t have to tell you everything and that the things that we do give you which is the basic outline of what she did to cover up has to remain strictly confidential.

Walter, I understand before we talk about price when is the earliest you can get there?

Lucia: We can be there in 2 days

After that, the two of them spent around an hour long until they had come to a favorable arrangement. The arrangement was that the company would be able to take any items deemed important in the mansion and that besides a small amount of money, the company would secretly receive a portion of the money once the mansion was sold.

Lucia then set everything in motion to prepare for the upcoming investigation. This included loading the cars they had bought because the location meant that it would be easier to get there by automobile and that anything they had to be sent back could be done by train after the investigation. The next thing Lucie had to do was to get the briefing on the case.

Which was done in a similar fashion \

Lucia: IN this investigation we will be investigating a mansion that is believed to have been the place where some idiots summoned some terrifying monsters………… So that's the details of this mission. So let's quickly go over it again, our mission is to go to that mansion and investigate what happens if there is a monster kill it and cover up the whole thing, and set it up to be something that happened there that is not any supernaturals stuff happen and take everything that is related to the supernatural as well. Any questions?

.

Tanya: what is the possibility that the monster is behind this?

Lucia: Practically guaranteed.

Lucie spent the next hour or so listening to and responding to questions from the A team and the tactical soldier's team leaders who would be going along in greater numbers due to the nature of the case.

Lucie plans to head there in two days because of all the packing in the cars that have to be done and some pre-investigation research of the Mansion and the town they are investigating. Then after they arrived there they planned to spend two days there. On the first day, the tactical team is going to be staying at a place the mayor of the village “A” planned for them. While the A team would investigate the village and receive some intel on the mansion and its inhabitants of it. The next day they would then investigate the manor and clear it out of all supernatural beings and objects and depending on what happened to the people staying there. Would determine how they covered it up.

It is going to be the biggest mission for the tactical team as there are around 50 tactical soldiers going which is the strength of a slightly oversized platoon. And the A team, making the force formidable to almost any monster they might face.

The rest of the day and the next day were developing plans doing research on the mansion and getting some basic information on the Owner whose name they find out to be Agatha Crumb who is the current owner of the mansion. Though they don’t find any more than that in the preliminary investigation.

MARCH 27TH DAY 3

In the early morning around 15 cars set out from Boston and headed to the village of Chrysler. It takes the group several hours to reach the hotel that they were to stay at. To prevent any suspicion they had completely booked the hotel clean. The tactical team then went inside and waited on standby. Meanwhile, the A team drove into town and started their investigation. While driving into town Thee group talks among themselves about what they think is going to happen and if it is going to be worse than the mission in New Bristol,

After driving for an additional fifteen minutes they arrive in the town and are greeted by a small farming village that has a couple of shops and houses in the small village center area. They parked their vehicles on the side of the road and began walking around looking for information. They split up with Kirgirl and Tanya leading a group and searching the northern part of the town where the town's small community library is. While Lucia would bring her group to the south of the Village. Where the church is and the shops are.

TANYA AND KIRGIRL GROUP: TANYA'S POV

As Tanya and her group walked around town they saw how old-timey their houses looked to Tanya. Since Tanya was trapped in a period that was like a cross between ww1 and ww2 and was sent there by being X after in the modern world. Tanya had been in this strange world that was in between this and the modern world in which she grew up in her first life. That was of course before Lucia picked from the strange world she was in and offered her a chance to join the ACF and travel back to the modern age which Tanya accepted.

So because of that Tanya was able to feel not as weird seeing things that they only saw in the history books. (note this is a great idea or a short story nudge wink wink) This is the case for all employees from the modern age to some extent.

But as many walk around the village heading to the library. She can feel the eyes of everyone on her. She wonders if it is because she is an outsider, or if the clothes she is wearing are. One of the only things that everyone in the company including Lucia has said with vigor that they will not compromise on and not force the employees to wear is period clothing. The reason that most girls and women have practically the same being is that nobody wants to wear dresses as casual clothing. So most of the time they wear a tee shirt or sweatshirt and depending on the weather shorts or short skirt or pants. While men wore modern clothes when they were off but some wore suits from the C world because of the lack of difference between the modern world and the price to them was dirt cheap compared to what it was in the modern world.

As Tanya thought about the situation Tanya realized that the people who they interacted with in Boston had grown used to it and the people in power didn’t care what they wore since they were good at their jobs of helping the machine keep going. But here they were outsiders that were wearing strange clothes. So Tanya thought that it was reasonable for people to be curious.

After a couple of minutes, Tanya and her group reached the library. It was a small building that matched the small village it served providing a source of books and an archive to store the town's records. When they walked in Tanya went to talk to the librarian while the rest of her group searched the library and archive for useful information.

As Tanya approached the Librarian was an old woman who was in her 60s had long grey hair and wrinkly skin and was wearing a pair of reading glasses while reading a book. Looked up and raised her eyebrows. And with perhaps a bit of surprise at seeing an outside visiting her library greeted Tanya.

Librarian: Hello, are you doing? If I may ask since I don’t recognize you. I would guess you're not from these parts, are you?

Tanya: Yeah you guessed correctly we are not from this area but we are not from too far away. We are from Boston.

Librarian: That’s surprising since you don’t have a Boston accent. Oh and by the way my name is Charlotte.

Tanya: Nice to meet you Charlotte. To answer your question it’s more like I have been living in Boston than I am from Boston.

Charlotte: I see, so how long have been living in Boston?

Tanya: I have been living in Boston for 2 years.

Charlotte: That's nice to hear.

The two of them talked for the next 3 hours with Tanya inquiring about the town's history with the librarian more than happy to have good company. Brought out coffee for both of them to have. Tanya also somehow got roped into helping the librarian put the books away and help with some of the tasks that the aging librarian was having a hard time with. When they were leaving after they finished the search. The Librarian made sure to thank Tanya and told her that she would always be welcome at the library

The information that Tanya’s team found was that Agatha was a resident of a prominent family that had a large part of the old Quay aristocratic families that lost their place towards the end of the 19th century as the cities boomed and the rural areas started to fall behind. But just because her family was not at their prime didn’t mean she still wasn’t influential in the area or not wealthy. One event in the past that caught their eye of them was that one of her ancestors was tried as a witch and executed by a 17th-century witch hunt. The witch responsible was named William Perkins. This is what They believed to be the reason behind whatever she tried to do.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

After that they spent the rest of the day walking around listening to the rumors and stories of the village folk and then once they had finished their investigation headed back to their cars. As they walked Tanya thought that she could see the outline of what happened and started to fill in as they slowly got the pieces to the puzzle that was the story of what happened.

LUCIA’S GROUP: LUCIA'S POV

Lucia’s group’s main building to get information was the local church which was run by an old pastor who had spent his entire life as the pastor and was well-known and respected in the small village. He told several stories to Lucia that should the superstitious beliefs that the mayor had talked about and quickly understood why he would want the beliefs dispelled since they only talked for half an hour and she was already fed up with the superstitious Bs that he was saying. After hearing the Pastor, Lucia failed to comprehend how the mayor didn’t have a mental breakdown from the stress of dealing with the extremely superstitious villagers.

..

But one thing was for sure, which was that all the stories that were told by multiple different villagers were consistent to the point that they had to be written down and compared side to side to find the differences. And even then the only differences were the phrasing and some minor details. The major points were nearly identical in every villager they talked to. It would surprise Lucie if they were similar due to the small size of the village. But having them all near identical was strange. But at the end of the day, it wasn’t why Lucie came to the village. And on that end, they only get the basic information. Lucie then headed back to the cars and they drove back to the hotel they were staying at

DATE MARCH 28 DAY 4

The next day at around 2 am the A team and the tactical team geared up with tactical gear and suppression due to the proximity to the village. They also brought Night Vision goggles due to the mission taking place at night 2 soldiers were sent to guard the staff at the hotel. The rest headed to the Mansion by car. It took them 20 minutes to get there. As they approached a mid-sized manor could be seen with visible damage. Though the cause was not obvious to what the cause was. But Lucia could guess that it was some monster.

The cars stopped around 100ft from the front entrance as the three team leaders for the mission: Mukaro, Tanya, and Schokolade Those 3 are going to be commanding a squad while Lucia is going to be the overall commander and have a smaller command squad and is going to be sitting in the rear while the rest of them investigate the area. This mission is the first that radios are going to be of use. Since they had them from slightly after their first mission but they weren’t needed in the New Bristol mission due to the small area. This mission presents them the first time that they would operate like a military unit partly due to the size and partly due to them having radios.

Groups

Command Lucia, Monica, Anya .5 tactical soldiers

Squad 1: Tanya, Chronos, Kirgirl, 14 soldiers

Squad 2: Schokolade, Koko, Valme, 14 tactical soldiers

Squad 3 Mukaro, Hermine, 15 tactical soldiers

COMMANDER POV (LUCIA)

After the Groups were assigned the plan was quickly assembled. It was that Squad 1 and 2 would cover the ground floor. They would sweep the building from 1 side to the other.

This rough drawing shows what Squads 1 and 2 are going to do. Squad 3 is going to do the same thing except on the 2nd floor. The Basement and Attic are going to be done by squads 1 and 3 respectively once the 2 main floors are cleared. The Command squad follows up behind squads 1 and 2 and directs the 3 squads and gives orders. It is also to prevent the 2 squads from being attacked from the rear.

Once that happens they start heading to the side entrance on the closest. Side. The plan is for them to enter the 1 way and split up. Once they did that everyone put on the night vision goggles and started walking towards the mansion.

SQUAD 1 TANYAS POV

As the briefing finishes Tana can’t help but feel nervous since the foe that they are going to face is said to be not human by Lucia. As Tany walks towards the door with her rifle pointing downwards. Tanya can’t help wondering how or why Lucia thinks that the thing responsible isn’t human and how she seems that this is somehow a normal threat that can be easily dealt with and also what's up with the tactical soldiers. Who are they and why are they a bunch of teenage girls that seem to be the same as Lucie? Did being X do the same thing to most of the ACF security teams? But I can’t think about that now as Tanya reaches the door. As they approach the door the smell of death starts to grow and she immediately knew that everyone was probably dead, and they were only there to clean up and cover up something that Tanya knew would be something that will probably become a reassurance in the coming missions of dumb people doing dumb things and getting themselves killed.

When they finally reach the door. They see that the door is closed still but seems slightly damaged. Tanya being in the front of the group tries to open the door but the door seems to be locked or damaged. So Tanya stepped out of the way as one of the soldiers kicked the door down. They then filled in and split off into their perspective groups. But Tanya saw when she walked in the door caused her to back up and throw up. And Then she waited for as near all members of the A team to step out and throw up at the sight of several desecrated and rotting corpses. Even though most of the people in the A squad had experienced combat With only a few notable exceptions almost none of them were prepared for that level of death. But Tanya wasn’t looking at the bodies but at Lucia, Chronos and Hermine, and all the tactical soldiers who didn’t even flinch at the dead bodies but simply took note of them and were planning to continue until the members of the A team went outside to throw up, did they then stop. In Tanya's mind, she could not imagine what they experienced or did to get to the point of desensitization to not even flinch at that. When Tanya and several other A-team people were catching their breath outside, they briefly talked about what they just saw and talked about what they thought of those that didn’t even flinch. They quickly agreed that they were inhuman to be able to ignore that level of grotesque disgust. As Tanya walked back inside, she knew that was just the beginning of probably several more bodies in a similar state. The only thing that she could do was to mentally prepare herself and not think of it too much. After that, they split up and started walking down the hallway.

The entrance point they did was a living room area with a couch and several chairs. The light was normally provided by a chandelier, but it was out. The coach was tipped over and slung over it was the first body that had been badly mutilated and was in the process of rotting with maggots and flies seen bussing around it at all times of the day. The other boy was leaning against the door trying to get out but once the door was opened it was thrown to the side.

The hallway where Tanya and her group were ransacked with things knocked over all the floor and the wood floor was damaged and several trails of blood that leave behind the final movements of the owner of the blood. The trails go into several of the rooms There are a total of 3 doors before they enter a main room. Tanya’s group slowly goes through each of the rooms finding another body in the kitchen and several sets of bloody footprints leading out of multiple the exits. The kitchen is in total disarray. The scene looked as if the people were trying to desperately arm themselves while something was hot on their trail and got to them before they could get weapons, or they might have been able to have weapons but seeing one get killed caused them to rethink their plan and cause them to scatter. Has Tanya left the kitchen she hears a low humming noise coming from the other side of the house. When Tanya relays it over the radio the two other squad leaders also confirm that they heard the noise. After hearing that Tanya becomes more cautious and slows their search. They manage to reach the middle part of the building, not finding any more dead bodies. They then wait for Squad 2 to meet up and give an update before searching the second half of the house.

SQUAD 2: SCHOKOLADE POV

As Schokolade leaves the living room and advances from the living room when they reach the start of the hallway they see 2 more dead bodies. That seemed to have been trying to run away from something. In their hands, she sees that they had makeshift weapons that Schokolade thinks came from the Kitchen. Seeing that makes her fear worsen which makes her wonder what did they see that even with those makeshift weapons they still tried to run away and still failed. The next thought that came to her mind was what did that to their bodies. She couldn’t think of an answer, but the one thing that she did know was that she wanted to get this over with and get something to eat. Though when she thought about that she realized that she didn’t have one after what she saw. Her team then began speeding through the room clearing not finding any more bodies. After a little bit, they heard a strange humming noise coming from the other side. Schokolade was shocked a little with terror after hearing it and thinking about what she had gotten herself into. Koko and Valmet also reacted similarly. They then quickened their pace to the center area to meet up with Squad A,

SQUAD C: MUKARO POV

As Mukaros' squad goes up the stairs that led up from the living room she sees a hole that destroyed the wall and part of the ceiling. They see scattered over the their first side of the Mansion Sees the blood trail that leads downstairs and 1 body in the hallway that looks like that person couldn’t outrun the monster that was chasing them. They then search the rest of the first half of the second floor. It is a Victorian style that would probably look nice if it wasn’t an absolute disaster zone that was caused by some terrifying monster that was lurking somewhere in the mansion. Mukero thought of the past two cases as she swept the rooms and thought that they really were indeed nothing compared to this and probably still not among the worst things they might have to encounter. Since there's only 1 squad on the second floor. They would wait at the halfway point until they are confirmed to continue by radio.

SQUAD 1 TANYA POV 2

As Tanya and her squad are waiting for Squad 2, the humming that Tanya heard when she was in the Kitchen. Had come back and was getting louder, she could now get a location from where it is coming. That being from the end of the hallway. When Tanya with her weapon raised peaked into the hallway and saw a hideous and unnatural creature with multiple eyes covering the entire body that was slowly walking down the stairs. She then connected the victims she had seen to the monster and instantly understood a basic idea of what happened. Tanya then immediately raised in the monster's location and then after a deep breath she ordered her soldiers into combat positions and she knew that the monster had to be killed as quickly as possible. So even though she suspected that Lucia and Monica would prefer the monster to be in as good a shape as possible for them to research on. Tanya couldn’t care less and got an rpg that one of the soldiers was holding and quickly backed to the hallway entrance. The monster had only walked one or two feet still not aware of Tanya. Tanya then ran in front of the entrance aimed the shot and fired and quickly reloaded and repeated firing a total of three rockets. Tanya quickly fell back and gave the rpg to the soldier and then picked back up her Aug and aimed it at the entrance to the hallway.

COMMANDER POV (LUCIA) 2

Lucia was in the living room that they had breached into looking at the bodies and commanding the squads. When Tanya reported contact Lucia immediately started to head to Squad 1s location to act as reinforcements So that Lucia could take command of the battle personally. But Lucia knew that Tanya wouldn’t wait and didn’t care about the research or trying to get it in decent shape. Which was quickly confirmed as several rpg shots rang out. This caused Lucia to be kinda upset that Tanya was so quick to go loud and do something that made the reason for bringing suppressors pointless. The RPGs were for a last resort if bullets couldn’t be used to kill it easily and it was taking too long. But Lucia then just gave up on thinking about that for now and rushed towards the central room that Tanya said that she was in. As Lucia got closer the sounds of suppressed gunfire increased and she could soon see the monster. It was in the process of trying to fight two tactical soldiers who had taken out their short swords that they use for melee fighting and used them to keep them away from the soldiers who were shooting at them. At the same time, Lucie's command squad joins the battle. Squad 2 enters the room and the tactical soldiers immediately open fire while the 3 team members upon seeing it lose focus and stare at it before snapping back and starting to open fire as well. The monster that had taken 3 RPG shots and quickly taken hundreds of rifle wounds was injured from. The three shots the at it had taken at the start of the fight had significantly hurt the monster and after the squad b at gunner fired 4 more shots at the monster. It dropped dead, almost crushing the two tactical soldiers in the process. But luckily, they dodged them.

After the Battle, the rest of the house was searched with 7 more bodies were found, including that of Agatha the owner of the Mansion who was found dead in a room that Lucia believed was the room where the beast was summoned Since there were two other dead bodies in there alongside Agatha. Next to her was a strange book that looked like it was where Agatha was. Upon a quick inspection, it turned out it was from a witch hunter. Lucie guessed that that is where she got the instructions. Several other occult items were taken. They then gathered all the information on what happened which included a full mapping of the mansion and all the damage that had occurred. The Bodies of the monster and the victims were taken by the Company back to the company for autopsies and analysis. The coverup involved creating a believable scenario. Then after that was done the team left with the occult items and bodies. They then headed back to the hotel briefly and then set out back. Though Lucie made a quick call to the mayor to inform him that they completed the mission and Lucie also set down a CRS (cellular relay station) They then headed back to Boston Just as the sun was rising.

AFTERMATH CASE 3

The county police had been planning on doing a welfare check that day because several of the victims had been reported missing by relatives. When the Mayor of Village A heard about when they talked to him when they asked if the local police could assist them. The mayor agreed and forced the police with the threat of being fired which they didn’t want to be so agreed to do so under protest. Once they left the Mayer sighed in relief because he knew that the problem was already under control and that letting the country police investigate would be a good way for the coverup that Lucie's company could happen in a better way than planned.

When the police arrived at the mansion they searched it and found it to be ransacked and blood trails around the house but no matter how hard they searched they couldn’t find any bodies. But they found evidence that was planted which suggested that they ran out into the forest. The police then searched the forest but still couldn’t find anything. They were even more stumped by what happened to cause the damage. The investigation ended up going dead after several months of searching.

Some reporters suggested that an outside party tampered with the crime scene due to several large bangs being heard in the village. But those were dismissed by the police as having no basis.

EPILOGUE CASE 3

The investigation report on this case is one puzzling case. Though to be fair all of this committee's work involving this dang company can be described as bizarre and puzzling. This case is a prime example. When they report that the thing behind it was a monster. Even with the proof given by the company and even when we saw one in the morgue. Which by the way even though it was dead it was still really damn creepy, and it felt like it came from another world. This case is one that the committee has reluctantly agreed that it was in the public's interest for it to stay hidden but then quickly adds that they should have done it in conjunction with the government and not just at the behest of the government. Though the victims that were killed were discovered to be in one of the company's many morgues that has stored hundreds of victims that were attacked and killed by unnaturalistic creatures. Though the fate of the bodies of most of the victims is still under intense debate with some saying that they should be studied. Others saying that they have already experimented enough and that their descendants should be contacted and given the choice of what happens to the bodies because some have been denied the final fate of their relatives for 100-plus years. But that will be solved eventually along with the hundreds of other things that have been decided. They will all be decided eventually.
