Note before chapter; The warehouses is not small it is around 200 thousand square feet. Meaning It is one of the biggest buildings in the area it is two stories with a basement.
1% of the warehouse is 2000 sq ft ,10% is 20000 sq ft.
The company had been established for several months and during that time the buildings they owned had been refurbished, the supplies and people from the modern era had arrived and were settled in. They had started the Public front in early February and they had started to accept cases in mid-February once the employees hired from c world where trained. Though most already had experience. They were tested to make sure they had enough and given some instructions on company policy. Meanwhile when it comes to acquiring weapons. They change the way they got weapons from buying from gun stores to going directly to the armories and ordering from there. These weapons are mainly for the guards that are in the public areas. And to the employees from the public area and the investigators for low-risk missions. Though rumors were already being spread about the security team at the warehouse who had two uniforms. One was a plain clothes uniform that was meant to try and blend in with era clothing and one was a tactical/ modern. The guards patrolling around the outside and near the entrance wore plain clothes and they were the only ones that interacted with the public. They would be the ones escorting them out of the warehouse. The security in the rest of the warehouse is done by security in tactical gear and they have modern weapons compared to the soldiers in plain clothes which have an era appropriate rifle, but they have a modern sidearm that is hidden. But one thing that they insist upon wearing is a bulletproof vest which was agreed to as long as a coat or shirt was worn over it to hide it. But as time went on the local residents began to wonder what was hidden in the warehouse that required it to be so heavily guarded and investigating it. It required a fence to be put up around it to prevent trespassers from getting close and annoying the guards. In the Warehouse. The space is occupied by 20 percent of the ground floor is dedicated to the armory, 10 percent of it is to vehicles or vehicle related, 10 percent is for the guard's staff room, the rest of it is for miscellaneous storage of items that are picked up during investigations.
It was the first of March. It was around 7pm when Lucia had gotten a knock on her office. The person who walked in was the Police chief of Boston. He is a middle-aged looking man who is slightly overweight and with greying hair. He is holding a briefcase in his right hand. His face has a slight worry and sense of urgency of what he has to do on his face.
Barnen: Hello thank you for agreeing to meet with me on such short notice.
Lucia: Of course, it is my pleasure to assist the police, but I am just a little surprised that you would ask for our help since it isn’t every day that the police go to private detectives to assist them. Though you must have a good reason to do so.
Barnen: Yes, I can see how it would. But this is a case that is on its last legs if no new leads are found soon it's going to be shut down and that the person or group of people responsible might get away. Normally I would just let the case go but this case is particularly heinous and as long as the perpetrator out there the public is in danger. So, I have been instructed by the mayor to do anything in my authority to solve the case. I know that your company normally does not handle large cases. But if I may say. Your company looks like it is planning to if not already handle larger cases with a more private part of the company. But I don’t really care as long as you stay mostly legal.
Lucia: What an interesting perspective you have, and I can’t say that you are particularly wrong either. But anyways we will always be more than glad to assist the police in difficult cases. However, since you are the Police Chief let me tell you this, that this company does have a section of it that specializes in cases that are unordinary, strange, abnormal and well let’s just say cases better if the public stays ignorant of. These are the types of cases that a certain portion of this company runs. So, we will be more than glad to take the case as well as any other case that is too hard for the police to handle or cases that the people want to stay out of the public eyes.
Barnen: I see very interesting; I will keep that in mind and if you do well, I might just give you a recommendation to my fellow police chiefs and friends.
Lucia: Thank you, I would appreciate that very much if you recommend my company once it solves your case.
Barnen: Sure thing, so let's get onto the details of this case.
Barnen then takes out several envelopes and takes out some papers that contain police reports.
Barnen: The case that I want you to investigate is a series of murders that are connected. Over the past two months there have been 10 murders. And they seem to have some of their organs harvested and they have had a mark engraved on their body. (As he says this, he takes out a sketch of the image and puts on the desk as well as several folders with paper on it) We are unsure of what the images are. But because of the time proximity and lack of media coverage on the image engraved on them. We can say for sure that these murders were committed by the same person or group. Besides that, they were killed in different ways. But the engraving is in the same area on each victim. But were unable to get any leads on the symbol that was engraved on the victims. And on top of that we can't track down a single witness to any of the crimes. So that is the jist of it. The rest of the information on the crimes will be brought over tomorrow morning. It's already; we just had to see if you would be willing to help.
Lucia: This does seem interesting, and I can see how you are having a hard time. But I have one request. Which is to see if we can gain access to the bodies if that is possible. But other than that, you can be rest assured that we will find who is responsible for the crimes.
As Lucia is saying that the police chief is talking to Lucia, he realized that due to his stress he didn’t particularly register the person he was talking to. But when he started to come down due to Lucias's assurances, he looked at her face and his face went pale when he realized that the person, he was talking to be a girl that looked no older than 15. Once he realized that the brain screeched to a stop as he racked his brain on how she could act like that and how she sounded like she was an adult that was well educated. But how could a girl talk like that and how did she get this job. And how then another though popped his mind as he saw her looking at the photos. He just gave a girl photo of people who were brutally murdered. But the look on his face caused his brain which was waking up once again to crash once more as he pondered or screamed one, I just gave a girl who looks no older than 15 photos of brutally murdered people and two while she seems so unphased. What has she experienced that has decentralized her. But as he was thinking Lucia interrupted.
[author] To be honest I have no clue what I was thinking when I wrote this. Though I most have been watching Youjo Senki When I was watching this and though that having a protagonist like her is cool and funny. I have no clue. Also, I will be adding my commentary. As I feel like a lot of this would raise a few eyes at her age description. Something that I wouldn't do now. [/author]
Lucia: Did you just notice how young I look. You sure must of been worried to be so worried for what was happening that you didn’t realize how i looked thought the way I talked must have been enough to your brain to convince yourself that the person you were talking to was qualified to handle the case and it wasn’t until you calmed down did you realize who you were talking and then froze and you became pale to the shock of you realizing how young the person you were talking to and the difference in how I talked vs how I looked caused you quite a shock and then you being filled in the rest of the blanks with a young looking girl and you face turned to what have I done and then to who is she when you see how I behave. But it is a quite reasonable reaction for someone like you to have. It sure is a lot more reasonable and normal than if someone was in your scenario and didn’t freak out over what they had done. But you can be rest assured that me and my team are more than qualified to handle the case.\
Brenon: I guess you're right. For your request we still do have some of the bodies in the morgue and I can get you access but the first two victims have already been buried. But I can still give you the report on their autopsy. But for the bodies that are still in police custody you can see the results and if you want to and can prove that you have your own autopsy performed. Though they have to be qualified and approved by me, do them. I hope you understand since neither me or the families of the victims would want someone botching the autopsy and mutilating the dead body. If that is it all I do have to be going now.
Lucia: yes of course I understand I will have my agents come tomorrow and perform their own autopsy. And I can assure you that the person who will do the autopsy is very qualified. And that is all. I have to say, Have a good night, Police Chief Brennon.
Brennon: You too
Then Brennon gets up from the wooden chair with a nice leather cushion. And walked out of the room with a much more relaxed look that looks like a weight was taken off his shoulder and that he can now rest easy knowing that the case would be solved. The time was now 8:30. Most people in the building had left. Though Lucia often stayed late and slept on a bed that was in a room that was connected to the office that was unused. That most people didn’t know about by just looking in the room quickly since it is to the left of the door going in. In fact, it took two weeks to notice it. And when she did, she turned it into a secret second bedroom of hers and further hid the door by turning it into a secret door. And by creating a small bathroom in the room which had enough rooms to create a bathroom that had simple shower and toilet and sink. While still having the room be a nice size to fit a full bedroom set in. But nobody was ever suspicious at her staying there at night for multiple days on end since they assumed that she was just sleeping on a couch since she was short for her age since she is the height of a 11–12-year-old even though she was 15 and she looked around 15 and definitely did not look like 11–12-year-old. Her height did though which was to her great annoyance. But because of her height she could easily claim that she slept on the couch. The only person besides her who knew about the room are two of the security team guards who helped her move the stuff in and promised not to say anything after coughing for several minutes at the prospect of her making the room her second bedroom. And the other being her personal secretary who makes sure that she wakes up early enough to not be caught leaving the room when other people are in it. Though she doesn’t know why anyone would object since she is kind of the Boss or the closest thing to one in the company. So after looking over the documents of the case and jotting down a few notes. She retires to her hidden bedroom and goes to bed contemplating the case she had just gotten.
Date: March 2, 1881
Lucia got up at around 5 and took a quick shower and then she changed into a dress shirt and short skirt from the spare clothes she keeps in her second bedroom. She then went down and got breakfast at a local cafe that is a short walk from the cafe and had become popular with the employees from the company and have become regular customers to the cafe. Lucia then heads back to the office and then while waiting for the rest of head investigators she went over the data that was given the night before and the data that was brought over the morning as Lucia had asked the Police chief to do. The files were brought into the building though the loading docks while there were only a few employees and while that was happening a security team in plain clothes had brought them to the 5th floor though the freight elevator designed for large amounts of files Though they would go to the 4th floor soon. Lucia had asked them to be put in her office. So, she could go over them before the meeting. Lucia then went through the files and prepared some notes that she could go over when she would brief the team which consisted of the investigative team and the lead security team A squad leader would also be present at the meeting as well as the Pathologist that Lucia had brought who was a Princeton graduate and 2 forensic scientists who will make up the forensic team for the case. They are planned to be in the basement of the office building when the renovation of the basement is done. But for now, Lucia plans to only use them to give their opinions. At about 8 A.M all the people in the meeting are present. It is in the top-secret conference room which is in the restricted part of the 5th floor which only the higher ups are allowed in freely. Since there is technology that contains sensitive information on it and it is the area designed so that they could use their modern technology without fear that an employee from World C might barge in. The conference room is a long room with a long wooden table in the center and on each side, there are 8 office desks on each side and at the front of the room is a large screen on wheels.
When Lucia thinks that everyone was ready, she started her presentation.
Lucia: Okay everyone today is an important day in this company as it is our first major class and a way for us to establish good relations and reputation with the local police department. So, we can’t mess this up. So are task being to solve a case that is on the brink of being declared a cold case and being shut down due to a lack of leads but due to the nature of the case it would be rather bad press wise for the police and mayor for it to stay unsolved so the mayor through the police chief have asked us to solve this case for them. This case also looks like it is up our alley for the types of cases we are looking at so. If we do well, we will be able to start a good relationship with the local police and hopefully allow future cases to go easier with police backing our actions. So that’s enough of the background of the case let’s dive into the info we have on this case. In the past two months 10 people have been killed and engraved with this marking on the same position on their body. (As she says this, she puts an example on the screen) This appears to be the only thing connecting the murders as they have been murdered in different ways. But the police have determined that these have all been done by the same person or organization.
So, know that we have the case info. I will be sending you a copy of the police file, but I believe that the fastest way to solve the case. Is to find out the meaning behind the symbol and find out what group is linked to it since they are probably related to the case. So, we will be splitting up into 3 main groups. Oh, and the pathologist and the two forensic scientists will be heading to the morgue and performing other autopsies to check the police finding. So, prepare your things to perform an autopsy. So let me get back on task the three groups will be group 1 which will be investigating the symbol, group two will be going over the police files and lastly group 3 will be trying to find any other connections between the victims.
That's all we will be meeting back here at around 5 p.m. to report our findings, so we are only investigating, and we are not acting on any leads we come across. If we find any information that can point us to a target location and provided it is close by, we can raid it tonight. So, assault team A should be on standby for a possible night raid. -----
Lucia then goes over all the information in depth, and I don’t feel like specifying the entire conversation.
That's all any questions. Everyone should know what groups they are in.
After that everyone got up and walked out the door. Leaving only Lucia in the room. Who is not a part of any group to do paperwork. Lucia cleans up her stuff and returns to her office and starts doing some paperwork.
Tanya/ group a Pov
With the image of the symbol carved onto the bodies of the victims of in their hands the group heads first to the archive in the office to see if they can find any information on the symbol which has several strangers and intricate patterns on it and some strange language written on which they bring to Lucia who is able to translate it for them. The words they find end up being a saying. They then travel to a nearby archive to try and find any organization to it. As they are walking to the archive they chat about the case.
Tanya: What do you think about the case?
Hermine: Strange and unsettling why would someone does something like this.
Tanya: Yea I agree but I can’t help but realize that this is nothing compared to what we will probably face off against in the future.
Hermine: You're probably right.
Kirgirl : I wonder how Lucie was able to translate the words so easily. Since I don’t even know what language, it is from.
Tanya: I don’t know but some of the others probably know. It probably has to do with one of his jobs that he has that he learned it somehow.
When they arrive, they find that the saying is the motto of a strange religious congregation called the seekers of Shoguth that worships in an old church in central Boston and when they link up with group B soon after they find that they murders surround the building proving the church's involvement. They then meet up with group c which found out a connection being the fact that all the victims had visited the old church once for different reasons. Some being curiosity and other being that they wandered into. But it was clear that they were threatened when they tried to leave even though they didn’t actually join. With that information the connection between the Seekers of Shoguth and the murders.
Lucie Pov
When Lucy gets the information that a suspect organization has been found. Lucie relays the information to the police and asks for permission to conduct a raid on the building to gather information. The request is granted because the police want to keep it out of the public's vision and the church had been revealed to have been pulling strings to stop the investigation in its tracks and the police would be unable to raid it without typing them off. So, after getting approval for the raid. The investigation team loads up with modern weaponry. Monica, Koko and Valmet decide not to participate in the raid and instead keep looking for evidence. The 7 investigators and a 10-man assault team in tactical gear wearing coats over it to try and hide their weapons and clothing head from their office to the church. Most of the members of the raiding team have a bulletproof jacket on and are wearing special ops equipment. The tactical team all have tactical weapons for cquip and suppressors. Though they aren’t needed since most of the investigators didn't bring any, they brought their own weapons and even though Lucie could have brought a primary gun choose only to bring her desert eagle and dual beretta pistols. She changed into a tactical uniform grey shirt and black tactical pants and a tactical chest rig.
As they approached the building, they took off the clothes over their tactical gear. They could see candlelight coming from the building and before they entered the clearing, they could see two people carrying what looked like a body that was struggling. Once they entered the building. And prepared to breach. The Tactical team was the one to do the breaching as it was her specialty.
They decided to split into 3 groups to prevent anyone from escaping.
Group a(front entrance) Lucie, 4 tactical soldiers, Kirgil
Group b Tanya, Chronos 3 tactical soldiers ,cholcolta
Group c Mukaro , Anya 3 tactical soldiers Hermine
Group A is responsible for the front entrance of the building. Group B Is responsible for the side entrance and lastly Group c is responsible for the back door.
Lucia Pov
After Lucia gave the orders. The groups quickly split off and head to their breaking points. As Lucia headed to the door with her desert eagle drawn, she thought about how useful establishing radios would be since they would be able to communicate and organize better. But thankfully the disadvantage of a lack of communication was reduced due to the skill of each of the group leaders and the tactical squads that provided skill that would easily outmatch any foe they might encounter on the mission.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Lucia's group approached the large metal door that could be seen as a pretty secure door in this time period. But Lucia couldn’t help but smirk and think that they aren’t from this era and this door is no more of an obstacle than a plain wood door. When the team reached the door, they stacked upon the door. Then one of the tactical squad members prepared a breaching charge on the door and another got a stun grenade ready.
Tactical POV
Meanwhile with the other squads. They performed similar routines and prepared for Lucia's signal which is the charge of the door.
Lucia's POV
When the breaching charge was ready the soldier backed away from the door and handed the detonator to Lucia. And then prepared a flash bang so that they could throw both a flash and stun grenade in the room. Since would prefer to capture them alive as their client is the police. Though Lucia thought that with the way the mayor and Police chief didn’t seem like the type that didn’t care how it was done as long as the public was kept safe, and the perpetrators stopped.
After that though Lucia gave the signal to prepare and then detonated the charge. The door was sent flying forward. And a noise soon followed that it hit one of the cultists investigating the noise that was coming from outside. A flash bang and stun grenade soon followed and further caused confusion and chaos as some fled and others just stood there in shock not knowing what to do. Then after the two detonated Group A Stormed the room and captured.
Most of all of them
When Lucia entered the room, she saw that most of the people there were seemingly normal people. It seemed that they were forced to be there. But then she saw someone tied to the table in the front of the room with the person that she saw being brought into the room. Then two more blasts went off. Meaning that the two other teams had breached a little late. But Lucie thought that was not too big of a problem. As Lucie was investigating the room. Which seemed to resemble a church except for the fact of the occult symbols spread out through the room and the person tied to the altar in the front of the room. As that was going on Kirgirl and 3 soldiers were handcuffing the people in the front. Lucie and the fourth soldier approached the altar that the girl was on. But as that was happening several of the cultists that had originally fled returned in with weapons. And shot off several shots before momentarily being put off with confusion at the attire of their attackers. They then tried to unite the women and drag her off.
When the first shots fired, Lucie and the soldier with her fell back to the nearest set of pews and returned several rounds towards the cultists. Hitting one in the arm and driving them back deeper into the building due to their overwhelming firepower. As that happened gunfire from different parts of the building started to be heard. Once the group ties up the cultists in the main room. Kirgirl and 2 soldiers went to assist. Lucia's fireteam. The remaining soldier was kept there to prevent escape as well as to keep an eye on the cultists. The Girl on the altar was untied and led to the soldier there. She was relatively unharmed with only a couple of bruises. After that Lucie's now 4-man fire time started to go deeper into the church.
\
Group B Tanyas perspective. Before Breach.
As Tanya was waiting for her signal, she couldn’t help to wonder what they would encounter and how this was probably nothing compared to what they would face in the future. But she was confident that no matter what it was. They would be able to handle it. The Breaching team was configured in the same way for all three groups so all they had to do was set up the charge and wait for Lucia's group to breach the front door. After a minute or so an explosion was heard but due to the design of the door it took a little longer than expected to set the charge so as soon as it was finished being set it was quickly fired off. When they entered, they found several cultists coming from the front who had just armed themselves running towards the back of the building. But at the sight of seeing another group of heavily armed individuals. They shot a few rounds and then ran back the way they came. The 3 soldiers quickly formed a line and returned fire. Then as Tanya walked in, she saw the hallway with 2 doors on the left and 2 on the right and in the center another hallway intersects it leading to the back entrance. Two soldiers stood guard in the hallway to watch the backs of Tanya and her group as they cleared the rooms.
The first room on the left was an old office with a creaky wooden floor and only a small window in the corner of the room providing light. The desk in the room was falling apart and apart from that the room seemed empty suggesting that the cult didn’t use the room.
The first room on the right was a small stockpile with some provisions and cleaning supplies which surprised Tanya she didn’t know why they wouldn’t maintain at least somewhat the entire building, but it showed that at least some parts of it were maintained.
The second door on the left was different from the first door. It was a locked wooden door that had carvings on it. In order to not damage it as it seems it could be of interest the door was picked by Chocolata. Tanya then entered the room to the sight of a dead cultist that had seemed to have committed suicide in a panic of the place being attacked. Tanya saw that the cultist was trying to burn the records which Tanya quickly pulled out to find that they were still in decent shape as they had a leather cover which took most of the fire damage. On the desk were also several stacks of paper. Which would be investigated further. The office had a similar layout as the other office but It was better maintained and had a chandelier and small fire pit that was being used to attempt to destroy the evidence. It was quickly put out do the risk of creating too much co2 and creating a carbon monoxide risk. There was also a filing cabinet in the corner of the room. As Tanya was leaving the room gunfire erupted as three cultists armed with rifles revolted. Flew out of the second door on the left which turned out to be a small stairway leading to what is presumably the basement. The 3 cultists didn’t get far as they only managed to get off a couple rounds each before, they were cut down by the tactical infantry which were then ordered to watch the stairs and wait for the 3 teams to meet up. The rest of the rooms where relatively ordinary except for some of them having symbols carved into some of the wooden objects.
Lucie POV
Lucie and her fire team swept the floor and quickly cleared their part of the building. In the process capturing the two cultists they encountered before. They then brought those two to the man room before meeting up the teams B and C which had already met up. As Lucie looks around, she sees the bodies of several dead cultists near a room to the door. As she saw this and had a passing thought that it would have been a good idea to get the plans to the building to be able to plan better. But then Lucie quickly ended that thought and that it was just a good thing to know for next time, so the three team leaders met for a quick meeting.
Lucie: Anything to report before we head into this basement.
Tanya: We should leave one of the soldiers to guard one of the offices. Since they must be important if the dead cultist in there tried to destroy them in a panic before committing suicide. Oh, and the door to the room was filled with strange carvings.
Mukaro: Nope nothing to report the part of the church we were in was deserted and it seemed to be the living quarters or something to some of the cultists. They were probably scared into going into the basement by your Group Lucia.
Lucia: Ok we will leave a guard to guard the office. Once we finish the sweep of the basement. We will conduct a quick investigation and take any important documents before telling the police. The reason there is no police is that they know that it is us that is doing it. They are probably getting calls about the gunfire so we should try and make it not seem that the police aren't reacting, so we have to finish in the next 15 minutes or so and be leaving in 20. I will tell you more once we finish clearing the basement. And one last thing, these people that fled to the basement seem to be the core members that are the culprits of the murders. So, while it would be nice to get them alive. It doesn’t matter much if they are killed if they are resisting so don’t go out of your way to get them alive. Understood.
After that the tactical team slowly made their way downstairs. Lucie being the lightest armed among them. Though still better armed then the cultists is in the back. The stairs are suppressing well kept, a drastic contrast to other parts of the buildings which look like they are decaying. Which means that this is where they use frequently. As they walk downstairs, they can hear the panicked voices of the cultists.
Cultist A : Who are these people? Are they the police?
Cultist B they can’t be we haven’t heard anything about it.
cultist C But then who are they their weapons and gear look nothing like anything we have seen the police have. I haven’t seen anything they had. What are we going to do? The two Bob and Jim haven’t returned, and we heard gunfire. Did they kill them?
Cultist B We can’t just surrender to them. They already probably already have the people in the front in custody and the person who was going to be our sacrifice was probably rescued by them.
Cultist A: Shut up people are coming.
After they stopped talking Lucia signed to the person in the front to prepare to double bang them with a flash and stun grenades to hopefully disorient them enough to get them to surrender peacefully. The tactical team then passed around as they got prepared and they threw 2 flash and stun rounds, and they went off after a few seconds creating a loud bang that disoriented everyone even the assaulters to a certain degree though substantially less than the cultists do to their location and training which taught them resistance to the effects of it. And with that they stormed in and captured some of them who were too dazed and lost the willpower to lose their lives in what appeared to be an unwinnable fight. While the diehard members that knew they would probably die either way since they would probably get the capital punishment for their crimes shot their guns wildly around at the door before being shot dead by the tactical soldiers as the breached. Those that didn’t shoot were promptly disarmed and cuffed. And the small basement was cleared. It turned out that the basement had three rooms. The main one was filled with cultists and company men Were filling the room and blocking Lucia's view prevented her from getting a good look. So, She decides to look at the 2 other rooms in the basement. Lucia heads first to the room on the right with a tactical soldier as her bodyguard. The door is a wooden one that has a sign on it saying supply room. Lucia opens the door to find it to be a supply closet with cleaning supplies and a rack of guns as well as a table that has several revolvers on it. Most of them being some variation of a colt revolver. Though it seems that these were their back up guns since they seemed to be older and more worn than the weapons the cultists had on them. There were also 2 henry repeating rifles and several boxes of ammunition. Seeing that there was nothing else of interest. Lucia (Quick note When is say that someone is accompanying her or is a part of her group. In this case it is a tactical soldier acting as her bodyguard When I say that she goes somewhere Assume that the person or group of people are following her, especially for unnamed characters. After I say that for the first time and establish it until I say that the person is not following her explicitly or until they leave the area, or they leave the area or finish the mission if it is during a mission. For convenience just assume that I mean them and the people with them. In this case when I mention Lucie after specifying that a tactical soldier is accompanying her, Assume that i mean Lucia and the tactical soldier. This is done for connivence. So that is it for an explanation that could have been done way shorten and way better, but I do hope this might prevent any confusion if I say that someone is with a group and then not mention the group for a while. So now you would know that I would mean that person and the group unless I mention otherwise.). Past the rest of the group which is bringing the captured cultists upstairs. As Lucia approaches the door, she can hear mumbling. She is somewhat confused. She then slowly opens the door to be met with a shotgun blast to the face by a cultist that appears to be middle age and is wearing a hood that obscures his face who is armed with a double barrel shotgun and another who looks like he in his thirties is holding a young woman who is in near rags. Lucia is blown back by the force of the blast and the gunshot immediately causes nearly every single company just about to look and if not for Lucia being on the ground in the doorway, they would have all charged in the room and dogpiled on the two cultists.
Lucia was blown back but relatively unhurt which caused a little to no surprise for the people with the company who knew that she was immortal. But it was a different story for the surviving cultists whose faces went from shock to from gunshot to absolute horror as they saw the girl not take a single scratch from a shotgun from practically point-blank range. Their faces became like ghosts as they struggled with the absolute fear terror at what they just saw as they were unable to believe what was happening and then after that just gave up as they were too occupied with thinking about what just. Meanwhile the two cultists in the side room realizing the futility in resisting dropped their guns and put their hands up. Then the tactical team then charged in and cuffed them. And then quickly led them out. They then saw that there were around 5 people held captive. They varied in their conditions with some seeming near death while others were still in decent health. Lucie directed that they be given medical aid and directed the tactical team to secure the area and bring the captured cultists to the main room with the rest of them and for the investigators to investigate and document their finds. Meanwhile lucie went to the nearby phone booth and called The Police Chief
Lucie: Hey chief it’s Lucie.
Brennen: Hey did you find the suspects.
Lucie: Yeah, we found the organization responsible. Though we still don’t know the exact person who killed them we know that all of them were done at the behest of this religious cult. I will give you a brief rundown of what happened. We managed to capture the majority of them alive and that cultists don’t seem to take part and that some who went in out of curiosity were threatened into staying. So, it seems that the murders were people who were killed for trying to leave after they attended one event. Next, we raided them just as they were about to murder or harm someone they had just captured and were found that they were being held captive. Several cultists were killed trying to resist and one more. We think being a ranking member, but we can’t know for sure committed suicide in a panic after trying to destroy evidence. But thankfully most of it was intact when we found it. We will conduct a quick investigation and then most of the team that participated will leave before the police arrive. While me and several high-ranking investigators will be staying to keep an eye on the cultists we captured and then we can talk about what happened more in detail in person. Then that’s the basic rundown.
Brennon: That is excellent news. I am glad that I made the right decision. Do you know how long you need to finish? Because I have a police station that can be there in around 5 minutes. I am among those that are waiting. It isn’t a big deal if we catch your unit on its way out since the police that will deal with the case are ones that are used to sensitive operations, and I will be personally commanding it so you can talk to me then.
Lucie: Understood we will be done in less than 10 minutes. So then talk to you when you get to the scene.
Brenen: See you then.
After that Lucie headed back to the old church where the investigation was well underway as the team was handling all the evidence was found and taking photos of the dead cultists for evidence and they cleaned up all futuristic items. Meaning they picked up all the bullet casings from their weapons. Which wouldn’t be normally done but to clean up the tracks as much as possible it was decided. With the Police chief's permission, they were taking all of the paper evidence as possible. When they finished up. The tactical team retrieve the jackets they had on over their tactical chest rigs. While the only person who didn’t was Lucia as she didn’t bring one. Once they finished everyone but Lucia,KIrgirl and Choclate left the scene in stealth and quickly headed back to the warehouse. Where they plan to hold debriefing. Several minutes after most of the team left police started to Filter in. Then the Police Chief was in the middle with two officers on each of his sides. The police who knew that people were there were told not to ask any questions and to ignore any of the things that the cultists said about the attackers. Who started pointing at the three of them shouting for them to be arrested for murders. The police chief had to hold back from laughing when he heard that. And when they saw that they realized that this mysterious force was even though not a part of the police and not connected to police officially. They realized that because of the policy's absence until it was over. They knew that the actions of this mysterious group of heavily armed girls and the raid that happened was at the least tacitly approved of and at most was supported by and possibly even the people that directed them to go up against it. As they considered the possibilities, they realized that nothing was going to happen to the group as the police probably knew it was going to happen and allowed it to intentionally ignore the calls the local residents made of the gunfire. ‘
Lucie gave Brennon a quick tour as well as a detailed rundown of what happened and what they found out so far and promised that they would send a report that had everything they gained from the investigation to the police as soon as it was done. As Lucy was talking the police chief could be seen with a big grin on his face. It was the look of, look at this group of people that solved the case in under a week or look at what group I stumbled onto that can do the dirty work of the city. He then thought about how he could get a lot of points from being the one to recommend this unit to his friends in the other machine of other cities and how he could gain a bunch of favors for just making recommendations. HIs eyes looked like he had hit a gold mine that could help him maintain his position and that he knew he would support this company as it grows anyway possible and that it would pay back nicely as a force that could do the dirty work of the machine that runs the city.
Lucie thought that they were both. Lucie was also happy that they managed to make an important ally and that the mayor was also going to become a quick ally and supporter of the company after he heard from the police chief his ideas of what happened. Those ideas that the police chief has though not the most ideal for the company to get the reputation as a company that does the dirty work of machine politics. Wouldn’t be a big deal and even would help them gain favor with the local government quicker. Though she wasn’t sure if the others of the team (Note when I refer to a team it is the named investigator. This is to make it easier to talk about only the named investigators and make it clearer.) would share her views on this development. But she knows that none of them would disagree too badly since at most they would prefer not to be the puppets of the mayor of Boston. Thought Lucie wanted to make sure that didn’t happen, and she had to make sure that didn’t happen but at the moment Lucie knew that wasn’t going to happen and that at the worst they could just create a new part of the company to handle the dirty jobs that the city gives them.
After they toured the crime scene Brenen invited Lucie to dinner. After dumping his duties on someone. They then were brought by a police carriage to a high-class restaurant where the two of them talked about a future partnership between them and the police. It was that the police would hand out any assignments the police couldn’t handle or that they wanted to be done in secret. While they were talking about this, Lucia asked to be told about any cases revolving around strange cults or organizations that seemed unnatural. And then said that her company would be more than willing to help the police in any investigation that they needed in any way. Brenen thanked her and told her that he would recommend her company to all his friends and that he would be more than willing to give a good word to anyone that Lucia needed. They then continued their evening when they parted ways.
Lucia was happy at the development because it would allow them to get help easier and not have to worry about police interference as much in the nearby cities that would hold the police Chiefs recommendation in high regard. Though Lucia would have wanted to talk it out more with the other members of the A team that weren’t present at the dinner (Note Kirgirl and Chocolate were present at the dinner. With the police chief) The suddenness made it difficult to do so and Lucia wanted to take advantage of the situation to get a friendly relationship with Brennon and the Boston Police department.
As the three members of the A team headed to the warehouse, they talked about the thoughts on what was happening. Once they arrived the team was still there waiting for them. Leading to a quite awkward situation as the three of them had just come back from a fancy restaurant where they had dinner with the police chief. Once they heard most of the stairs were on Chocolate and kirlgril who were being stared at with jealousy. Their eyes weren’t on Lucia though since they knew that she was one invited by the police chief and that they were there to deepen ties with the police.
After a minute Lucia got their attention and quickly gave a debriefing. She talked about what happened and then about what she thought could be improved on open to make future operations better. During this time all of them listened carefully and once Lucia was done with the critiques of group A and her overall thoughts the two group leaders gave their critiques as well. Some of the individual members gave suggestions that were replied to by either Lucia or the 2 other group leaders. Once the debriefing was over, they left and returned to the dorm. Lucia and the two that had gone to dinner put their gear back into the armory and then headed back to the dormitory while Lucia headed back to the office to sleep in her secret bedroom which was becoming a suggestion among the members of the A team. Since she has gotten to the point where she never sleeps in the dorms or even goes there. The rumors that she has a secret bedroom/bathroom continues to grow. But Lucia doesn’t mind as they don’t have any proof of it.
The Aftermath of the raid which at the time kept quiet and was not well known to the public since those that witnessed the event from their homes and tried to call the police because of the violence happening and watched as the police took their time. Some tried to walk to the police station or look for the police as they weren’t showing and ended up running into several policemen waiting even though gunfire could be heard in the distance. And the Cultists and rescued survivors who talked about the strange girls in strange weapons and armor who attacked and how they were supported by or turned a blind eye to by the police were covered up. In the later the witnesses were told to keep quiet by the police and those that refused to and threatened to go to journalists. Soon they found themselves in jail and for the later they were told the same thing. The people who were rescued didn’t really care who rescued them, only that they did, and they survived their experiences because it happily agreed that most of the cultists were sent to sanatoriums for the criminally insane to shatter any credibility they might have had. The official story given to the public was that the police had got a tip from an anonymous source that led them towards the organization and that the gunfire heard was the police Raiding it to capture the perpetrators of the brutal crimes. The police that “: participated” in the “raid” Were treated like hero's and several got promotions and accommodations of the supposed “participants” of the raid, ensuring that the truth wouldn’t reach the public's eye for a long time.
Epilogue 1
Hey everyone, that’s it for case number 1. It was all done in my head. Why I am writing this even though I plan for nobody to read this is a mystery, so I hope that all you people are not reading or are for some reason you have enjoyed it. I know it may not be that good but be sure to know that it will improve. So, this coming up is the Epilogue which happens after the aftermath of every case. As you might be able to predict (or not) from the last line of the Aftermath is that the epilogue takes place in the modern period of the C world, not the modern world that the investigators come from. This section will always be after the aftermath so if there is an Aftermath section for a car you can be guaranteed there will be one of these sections. It is to be a look at how the public and officials might respond to the coming of light of events kept hidden from the public and how it may be viewed If you think that it may sound vague now. It's intentional. It’s not going to be further discussed in detail other than the epilogues which will only talk about 1 case in particular. Except maybe this one since it is the first case and first epilogue. Other than what was just mentioned. This investigation or more accurately a special committee will not be important to the plot of the story for a very . . .. very long time. So just a heads up and enjoy the first epilogue of this thing.
When it finally did during a series of investigations in the late 2010s. When large numbers of previously hidden files from across the world pertaining to the actions over 138 years of a certain company. Most historians would debate whether the events were covered up but they all agree that it was a travesty of justice to have people be silenced and lives ruined by being framed by the police for crimes they didn’t commit to cover up the actions of this group. Some may argue that the police that were given awards should be returned but it is a belief that only a few have. Though one thing agreed by everyone involved in the case. Which is that this is the beginning of a large number of coverups that caused many people disappear or reputations be ruined and thrown in prison or a mental hospital because they refused to be silenced and allow the crimes they witnessed, and the abuse of authority and corruption be covered up by the company or in some instances the state itself. It is agreed by all that after the investigation is over that they would be forever remembered in history in a different more positive light and that the events of many incidents would be forever rewritten in the history books.
