Chapter 5- Even Better Than the Brochure
After stepping out of the light Cael recalled Aria’s parting words See ya~ she says geez you’re ruining my tension. Shaking his head to get the crazy goddess from his mind he looked around the new location he’d been ping-ponged to.
The things he could identify from a glance included an old-styled stone room, scary knight dudes along the wall, five bishoujo nuns, Gandalf and finally what can only be a princess judging from her ojou-sama style dress. Cael truly appreciated the attention to detail after his botched goddess encounter I mean if you’re being summoned it’s gotta be princess afterall, right?.
『Nice! It’s gotta be princess afterall when you’re being summoned!』
Apparently, Alex agreed with him judging from his all too vocal announcement a shame that their hosts are looking at them weirdly now. After but a moment miss princess decided she had waited enough and approached the group.
『Greetings heroes my name is Selene vi Severin the second princess of the Severin Empire and on behalf of my esteemed father the Emperor I welcome you to Pleiades.』
After her little dialogue miss princess or rather Selene made way for Gandalf who also looked like he had something to say.
『My name is Kyle Veyron, high priest of the Temple of Order I understand if you are confused with the situation if you have any questions, please by all means ask away we will be more than happy to answer them.』
At this time everyone simply looked at one another with none taking the initiative to speak until a fed up class prez who had long since regained her wits decided to act as a representative if only to move things along.
『Thank you mister Veyron we appreciate the concern but we more or less understand the situation though it might sound crazy we met a strange girl calling herself Aria before arriving here and she explained a lot of stuff to us as well as forced your language into our heads, honestly it was pretty scary.』
『I see, I did think it was odd that we could understand each other as historical records point to otherwise but an encounter with the whimsical lady would certainly explain that.』
Selene decided to do a follow up that instead sounded more like a horror story.
『You have my sympathies it is not uncommon for people to unwittingly offend lady Aria and on a whim be driven mad or turned inside out as a result, one can only say you were most fortunate to have met that personage and emerged unscathed.』
Prez turned a little pale at that but pressed on with what must have been weighing on her mind.
『I have to ask, from what I understand you guys want us to fight a demon lord or something for you. Is that correct?』
At her query the princess decided to be straight with her.
『Yes, that is so; while the Empire has its own armies capable of fighting back lilim and demons, demon lords are not something ordinary mortals can handle and so it has long since been tradition that when one of those demon lords leaves the realm of Flux to invade Eden that we perform a hero summoning in order to cultivate a warrior capable of either defeating or at the very least repelling them.』

Seeing the importance of the ongoing talks Alice who had the most life experience decided to intervene before anyone could make any irresponsible promises.
『Hello your highness, my name is Alice Sheel and I am the teacher of these students. I understand that you have your own circumstances but they are just children and it is the responsibility of adults to ensure they are as far from harm’s way as possible and so as their teacher I am asking you to look for someone else and send us back please, I am begging you.』
With a desperate look on her face Alice implored them so. Selene knew this would happen and upon seeing that clenched her fist so tightly she almost drew blood alas life is cruel and Alice’s wish could not be granted.
『I am sorry, so very sorry but what you ask cannot be done it is beyond my power. What brought you here was chaos magic, specifically summoning magic however in general chaos magic is not a subject of study here in the Empire and thus any kind of reverse spell is likely unknown.』
With a bitter smile she continued on.
『Ironically those most likely to know such a spell would be a demon lord or lady Aria herself.』
『No way…』
Alice looked as though the sky was falling, her legs soon gave out beneath her and she felt tears welling up. At that moment however her least reliable student while wearing his trademark mischievous grin stepped forward to shoulder that sky.
『Wipe those tears Alice, what sort of role model sits on the ground bawling her eyes out; I don’t need that kind of crappy event. The facts are these we are stuck here with no immediate way to return so we got to make the best of what we have, with no money, no food and no shelter the best we can do is go along with whatever these guys have in mind isn’t that right, Gandalf?』
After tilting his head in puzzlement, the high priest realised Cael was talking to him so responded accordingly.
『While I don’t know who this Gandalf is I can affirm that the boy is correct as heroes you are guaranteed your livelihoods so long as you cooperate in the Empire’s efforts to expulse the armies of chaos from the shores of Eden. Furthermore, even if you should refuse our request you shall be allowed to walk away in peace and we will provide compensation of 100 gold coins for the trouble we have caused as a result of your summoning, more than enough to live comfortably for a while at least.』
『Eh, seriously we had a choice. I just kind of assumed you were going to try and force us anyway; I mean what if we all decided to go off sightseeing instead; who would fight the big bad demon lord then?』
『What you say is true, but we know at least one of you will help us.』
『You sure have a lot of faith in people you’ve never met before Gandalf.』
『It is not faith it is certainty for when we perform the summoning we call forth “one with the potential to be a hero” putting aside the other collateral heroes who were within the summoning radius at the time. The one who we specifically summoned will be someone of talent, charisma and virtue; it is this virtue that will ensure that they do everything in their power to protect those in need and the best way to do that is to cooperate with us.』
Cael was fairly impressed with the whole operation (These guys really seemed to have their act together) he thought so from the bottom of his heart in fact he went out of his way to say as such.
『You know what Gandalf? For a priest you are pretty logical it’s kinda refreshing truth be told.』
『Just to be clear my name is Kyle.』
『I know that Gandalf I’m just not going to call you that because it feels like it will break my immersion.』
After giving a resigned look Kyle gave up on the name issue, heroes were said to be eccentric anyway and decided to just honestly accept the praise.
『Doesn’t matter, the reason why I am so logical as you say is because I am a priest of order; logic is merely another form of order afterall.』
『Right~ I think Aria mentioned having a sister or something. Is that what you guys do, sit around praising her all day?』
『That’s an interesting way of saying it but essentially yes the purpose of the temple of Order is to worship Lady Ariel though we do also perform other duties such as providing status checks.』
Before Cael could get another word in Alex had beaten him to the point.
『OOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Status! It’s status afterall! I had lost hope when my soulful cries went unanswered but it turns out you need a special kind of magic for it, my RPG dreams live on! Please let me see my status!』
Taken aback by his enthusiasm both Selene and Kyle could only awkwardly nod their heads in acquiescence and allow Alex as well as everyone else to have their statuses checked.
