Chapter 3- Question and Answer Info Dump

『Question~!』

Such was asked by Cael who without thinking adopted Aria’s habit.

『Yes~, what is it?』

『Who cast the spell then and why?』

『That’s two questions but I figured you might ask that anyway~ The caster is someone from the Severin Empire exactly who I didn’t bother to check but their reason is probably something as inane as you imagined such as defeating a demon lord~』

The beautiful girl shrugged and shook her head like it couldn’t be helped that stupid people existed.

『Two questions~! That totally sounds like a hero though didn’t you say we aren’t heroes? Also, the heck is a Severin Empire?』

Cael raised his hand with a swoosh while jumping up and down such was his excitement at the idea of being a hero.

『Hhm~ the first answer is that just because someone calls you something doesn’t make it so even if they call you heroes the fact remains you were born in a peaceful country with little hardship to speak of if I called you a pig would that make you a pig~?』

『Touché and the second answer?』

『They are the centre of power for the human race and geographically cover the entire continent of Eden with four subsidiary kingdoms under its control spread out equidistantly across its borders.』

『Hey what’s with the textbook answer you didn’t do the sing-song thing~』

『Oh right you probably didn’t make the connection earlier but demons are spirits of chaos as the goddess of chaos I am also kinda, sorta like the demon god so for the record I wouldn’t ask something like slaying a demon lord y’know~ Basically you could say I’m not their biggest fans.』

While the revelation certainly surprised Cael he took it in stride like all other things in life but when he turned to look at Alice, he thought for a second that she was having a stroke with the never before seen levels of eye twitching going on. She really seems like she’s having a bad day Cael thought non-committedly like it was someone else’s problem before he came up with something else to ask.

『Actually I’m still confused about something how would we be able to beat a demon lord in the first place, do we get some kind of blessing or buff?』

『Ahh~ that’s kinda complicated do you want the long version or the short version?』

After thinking about it for a moment Cael asked for the long version, he always enjoyed hearing about the different power systems in stories and figured knowing more details about his own abilities could only help in the long run.

『Okay~ so I’ll start off by saying that any “buff” you have is not something that I or any other god gave you but a result of happenstance, all good~?』

『Yep, all good~』

『Soooo what makes you guys worth summoning is that your souls have formed on a world with a low aether density. Before you interrupt me, I’ll explain that aether is a kind of background energy that acts as a natural interface for reality, on Earth it’s sometimes called as the akashic records it works something like a source code for a computer. It is generated by shards of the highest beginning that are physical manifestations of possibility; these shards scattered into the nascent universe during its creation. They now exist at the core of all planets that support complex life encouraging evolution. By the way similarities between shards across the cosmos results in same patterns of life thus humans can actually be found on lots of worlds. Still with me so far~?』

『I think so, that’s pretty cool that lots of planets besides Earth have humans.』

Cael nodded sagely while replying as if commenting on the weather.

『Seems like you still got some leeway~ for an idiot your pretty smart huh.』

『I do my best~』

Aria smiled before returning to her lecturing tone.

『Continuing on, the fact however is that not all of these shards are equal in size or power as a result different worlds have different aether densities and the world to which you’ve been summoned has a comparatively high aether density. As a result its inhabitants find it much simpler to interact with it AKA magic is really easy at least compared to how it is on Earth. You still following~?』

『I’m still following I don’t quit and I never go back on my word!』

At this point Cael was just messing around acting like some blonde ninja from somewhere.

『That’s the spirit~ so to sum things up, you guys who were born on that kind of magicless world will find interacting with the aether really easy kinda like someone living at a high altitude moving to a lower altitude and noticing their improved breathing; this translates as terrifyingly great magical talent. So, simple enough right~?』

Cael more or less understood what she said but couldn’t resist replying in a flippant manner just to see how she would react.

『Not really~』

『Figures~ but it’s okay, as a reward for listening to the whole thing I’ll give you the short version that can be summarized as three main points:

1. Double the growth of MP per level

2. Passive 10x MP recovery rate

3. A 10x EXP bonus

Of course, how much may vary from person to person slightly but is that simple enough for you my curious friend~?』

Cael felt his jaw metaphorically hit the ground at the absurdness of the cheat he just heard that everyone including himself would have after being summoned. While each of them alone are pretty good they wouldn’t be game breaking the reason he reacted so strongly is because Cael noticed the crazy synergy they would have on each other, at that moment he gained a true appreciation for what the existence called as “hero” really is.

Before he could get fired up again and ask more useless crap Alice decided to get in between the two of them.

『I swear you guys have just been jabbering on amongst yourselves but everyone else is still sorting their feelings. You guys glossed over it like it was nothing but I still have to properly confirm it, have we seriously been summoned to another world?』

『Yes you have, this world is called Pleiades y’know~ though technically right now you are at a space in between in a pocket dimension I isolated with my powers so we could talk~』

『In the first place Alice haven’t you noticed we’re not actually speaking in English right now but some weird love child between Greek and Latin.』

『No way, you're right! To think I wouldn’t notice something like that before this slacker and it’s Miss Sheel damnit!』

The rest of the class who had been acting like air before this stopped whispering amongst themselves when they realised what he had just said and that he was in fact right none of them had been speaking in English ever since the flash of light that moved them from the classroom.
