Chapter 2- The Self-Proclaimed Goddess of Chaos
After hearing the mysterious girl’s voice Cael felt a chill down his spine and all of a sudden, a bright light engulfed the surrounding area. If anyone could see the room from a birds eye view right then, they would see a strange geometric shape spreading out to encompass all its occupants, student and teacher alike.
Cael heard shouting from all around him but couldn’t see due to how blinding the light was. Soon after everything turned black and he had a sudden feeling of weightlessness that lasted only a moment.
Despite shutting his eyes, he felt the exact moment gravity returned before landing on what felt like the ground luckily on my feet Cael thought absentmindedly. Slowly he lifted the lids of his eyes only to be greeted to the sight of the most beautiful girl he had ever seen standing way closer than common sense dictated.
She had long ink black hair that stretched all the way past her waist with eyes even blacker that seemed to suck in those that stared too long. She stood just a little bit shorter than himself with a figure best described as slender that combined with her alabaster skin and doll-like features created an appearance that Cael thought could truly cause the downfall of nations.
Strangely though he noted she had no shoes on and her dress despite looking like it was once very expensive was extremely worn out, even tattered towards the bottom. It wasn’t long before the girl opened her mouth to speak signaling the beginning of what Cael thought was the life of adventure he always yearned for.
『What? Can you say that again?』
『I asked if your heart went doki-doki~』
Even Cael could not resist playing the straight man for once in his life there was simply that much he wanted to retort. The most obvious being the joke like sentence she just threw at him in that sing-song tone she seemed to like.
『Nononono, there’s something strange there right! you’re supposed to grandly appear before us with a halo of light at your back and a stoic face saying, “Go forth heroes!” or something right!』
『But you’re not heroes though~ you’re just high school students~ don’t tell me I hijacked the wrong summoning? that would be soooo embarrassing my sister would never let me live it down.』
Where’s my promised life of adventure damnit I want a refund! Cael shouted in his mind before her words registered fully.
『Hijacked, seriously?』
『Seriously seriously~』
No, if I react to every little thing, I feel like the conversation won’t go anywhere Cael considered for a moment what his next move should be however before he could continue his ever so fruitful conversation with the goddess (temp) the rest of the class started to gain their bearings. At first, they all looked around the strange space composed of shifting black and purple that oddly phased in and out of sight in wonder before eventually landing their eyes on the stranger in their midst drawing their focus.

The first to respond besides the almost supernaturally composed Cael was the homeroom teacher Alice Sheel known to most of her students as simply Miss Sheel. Despite being a 25 year old woman Alice was not especially tall even compared to her own students and had a bit of a baby face thus it was often joked that she looked like a student with a strange hobby of cosplaying as a teacher.
Wearing her usual outfit comprised of a white blouse and black pencil skirt the blue eyed woman marched forward with her signature blonde sidetail swishing behind her, off to act as a representative for the confused class. As the only adult present, she felt a sense of responsibility towards them alas even she was far from composed, being summoned fell quite outside her work experience afterall and this was reflected in her tone.
『Who are you?!』
『Hmm~ I wonder if I should tell you?~』
Before she could respond to the obvious provocation Cael felt it better to de-escalate the situation with a joke or at least he thought it was a joke.
『Oi Alice she’s obviously a goddess who’s summoned us to slay some demon lord.』
『Miss Sheel! It’s Miss Sheel! Not Alice is it really so hard to show some respect to your teacher you delinquent!』
『Huh, don’t you know teachers are also included on the list of capture targets too these days I’m just improving my favorability.』
『Tch, this damn brat daring to call me a capture target straight to my face keep going and I’ll show you the bad end!』
『Ha! Making that sort of reference I knew you were the same kind no matter how much you denied it!』
Indeed, it was the case that Alice Sheel the well-respected teacher and idol in the hearts of many was in fact a hardcore otaku her poison of choice being otome games. Her hobby was born of escapism from the reality of her own non-existent romantic life with her looks most people her own age felt like they would be committing a crime and those that ignored that, Alice felt must have been in possession of peculiar tastes thus were no good in her eyes; it need not be said why a student was also out of the question.
To the outside observer it was unclear if the two got along very well or very badly but the fact was the two had without trying made a world of their own, you could say they were both very my pace having forgotten about the mysterious girl who started the situation to begin with.
『Ahum! Sorry to interrupt your whatever that was~ but we are actually on the clock right now y’know~, so I have to correct whichever misunderstandings you’re having before time runs out and this space collapses sending you guys on your merry way.』
『Misunderstandings?』
『Yes! let’s get back to the matter at hand just forget the idiot and can you explain what is happening to my class and who the hell you are as well?』
『Very well introductions have taken too long as it is the so-called idiot was half right, I am a goddess~ The Goddess of Chaos Aria★~ and just to be clear I didn’t summon you I only tinkered with the spell someone else cast y’know~』
Alice wisely chose to divert her eyes from the ridiculous pose Aria was making as she introduced herself, she could almost visualise the star written into her name from her voice alone and it gave her goosebumps. Cael however watched her little performance all the way through as he actually enjoyed talking to her because she reminded him of himself, the kind who loved to mess with others and so continued the conversation in such good mood.
