Neglection (written nothing about being alone)

Neglection (written nothing about being alone)

To be 'alone', it isn't so bad.

You're not exactly on your own most of the time.

In your backyard you have crickets in the grass.

At a lake you have birds flying past.

To see the trees whistle as they sway,

watching exquisite creatures clutching to stay.

The desert may not have much to see,

That's when it is you if you see something weird.

In your house alone, your mind can be occupied,

so think again what being alone really is.

What would you call one blade of grass,

one blade of grass left in the world.

Not even being able to regrow or reproduce.

The closest thing to it, besides dirt, a horse.

It looks too sweet and the horse goes to eat it,

The grass has no one to call for help.

And knows this, one day, was going to happen.

Nothing to live for, not being afraid to die.

Maybe that's a bit closer to 'alone', I think.
