My Answer (Poem)

My Answer (Poem)

*Two signs: One said: 'Don't just exist, live' the other said, 'What is your mission in life?'. I spent a week thinking about it. And this is my answer.*

What is your mission in life?

What a question to ask!

How can we think to answer when there's so much strife!

Sounds like such a task!

In a moment of time,

when things calm, so I can reflect.

What could be seen, besides a sign?

Our eyes are not perfect!

Forgetting can be easy said and done,

of all the good I have endured.

Memories fade like the light of the sun,

and the bad is procured.

Understanding what makes us who we are,

The past and the bad has become one huge scar.

Putting together pieces that are shattered,

and finally realising what really matters.

I think there is not just one mission,

And I believe that they are continuous.

They are filled with dependence and tension,

some are hidden, other can be conspicuous.

All emotions are entwined,

All feelings could be seen.

Leave what you don't need behind,

Knowing where I'm going is not where I've been!

Any mission in life could swallow you up whole,

Make you feel like you have nowhere to go!

We all are human and are capable of being bad,

but becoming so would not make me feel glad!

One mission, for instance, could be making a choice.

It could be as easy and someone needing to hear my voice!

It could be that I could help them,

And I want to do whatever I can!

Having missions in life should not be scary,

Even though they could vary.

Instead I feel an accomplished feeling,

And I know deep down I had some healing.

My missions include enduring both the bad and good.

I know who I am, all I did was understood.
