Throughout the chaos that happened, she realized something that she had overlooked. Or maybe she had ignored.
What was happening?
Why was she seeing that screen?
This was not her room?
Wasn’t she supposed to be in her dorm room?
How did she get here?
Where was she?
The questions came crashing in as the panic that to seemed to have magically disappeared came back full force. It felt like the dam had finally broken and all she could do was rock herself as she tried to stay calm.
She shuddered at the memory of the murderous eyes, the yellow river, EVERYTHING!.
What was happening!?
Another dam broke as the floodgates burst open. Her body shivered as she realized she had almost died.
She was certain of it. That murderous entity had wanted to take her life there and then. The shivering slowly changed into shaking as a full-blown panic attack struck.
She wanted to scream out, but the fear of what might lurk apart from the dead entity made her rational mind think otherwise.
If it was really dead, that is.
Eyes opened as her impromptu nap was ended by loud screams echoing throughout wherever she was. Jumping to her feet, she focused and tried to make sense of what she was hearing.
Sounds of a fight, correction, a number of fights made their way to her.
It seems day had broken as she had slept and light was coming in from a window a couple of meters above her. A window which she hadn’t noticed.
Remembering what she saw last night, she angled herself on the stairs to get a better look outside.
A deep breath later, her hypothesis was true.
She took unsteady steps towards the door and she opened it leading onto the balcony.
In the day, her vision traveled further as to what caught her eye was the white desert that sprawled as far as the eye could see.
On it what was causing the loud noises, clearly visible. She immediately stepped back behind the door and took a breath.
She peeked through the open door and saw creatures battling on the dunes.
In all shapes and sizes, the creatures all had an ink black colored skin. What seemed like their internal bones jutting out from different places and the bones were used as some sort of weaponry.
The smaller humanoid creatures were attacking everything in sight while the large creatures were trying to take control of the situation.
At the heart of the chaos, the dunes now had large splotches of ink blue on them, resembling a child's first attempt of painted art.
She realized, as one of the bigger creatures crushed one of the smaller ones, that the blue was blood.
Horror-stricken, she immediately looked somewhere and the yellow and blue suns behind the red sun chilled her blood once again.
What she saw last night came to mind as the double moons that offered little light made her understand that she was off planet.

She stared for a few minutes, mesmerized by the yellow sun slowly hiding behind the larger red and immediately followed by the blue sun. It was a beautiful sky and she had never seen anything like that so it took a minute to get out of the trance.
Where she was from, the green sky tinted by the sun offered a different beauty but the interplay of different colors from the different suns made a wonder she could not put into words.
The slight shifts in the colors of the sky was something she knew she would never grow tired of.
Ding!
The notification, brought her back to reality. The screen that was about to pop in front of her immediately dismissed with annoyed frown on her face.
Taking a breath, she took step into the room and closed the door, or she tried to. To the far right of her balcony stood one of those small humanoid creatures. It was staring right at her and she froze.
The creature resembled a humming bird but with a lanky build and a shorter beak. She thought it was standing on the balustrade but it became obvious it was hovering when she did not see its sharp claws perched on anything. The creature was flying but the flutter of wings was so quiet it was hard to notice them.
She immediately closed the door and ran downwards. A loud banging on the wall followed as the creature tried to come through. Sharp grating chirps followed as the creature started to peck and claw at the bone door, a door that, when Anaya looked back knew it wouldn’t hold for long.
running as fast as her nonathletic legs could carry her, she missed a step and fell down the stairs to the room.
Damage taken
-4HP
Groaning she immediately stood up and looked around. She ignored the door to the corridor as running in the dark was not an option. Turning around she closed and locked the door leading up the stairs.
The anode still in her hand she put it on her left hand and tried to come up with a plan.
With the aggression she had seen the little creatures exhibiting she knew she had no choice but to fight. Luckily her self defense class had taught her how to do exactly that.
Taking stock of what she had, she remembered the inventory and pulled out the sword and staff.
She immediately put the sword away as she knew she did not know how to use it. It would turn into a liability soon enough.
She held the staff and the balance was just right. The sculpture of a flower bud at the top made it the perfect blunt weapon.
Checking again, she saw the potion bottles and immediately dismissed them. She was not about to drink something she did not understand before or during a fight.
That would be incredibly stupid.
She heard a loud thump as the creature pecked at the door and like the previous one, it didnt seem like it would last long.
She looked to the table where she took the anode and and ran behind it and toppled it. Tabletop facing the door she made a last stand as the creature continued to peck and claw at the door.
She hid behind her last minute defense and peeked.
Waiting.
