Chapter thirtynine-Rude Awakening

Celeste~

She laughed. "Oh? What are you gonna do if I don't?"

Remind you of what you are. "What have you done apart from being a status-sucking leech for your parents huh? Do you think your parent's work makes you something? It doesn't. The only thing you got is their blood, and you better watch yourself because we've seen how that amounts to fuck all."

She took a pause before she responded, clearly struck by what I had just said.

"At least I have something to leech off, good luck building from being shit on the street, thank you mum." She said the last part sarcastically, laughing with who I assumed were her little minions.

*Please be seated before the coach takes off*

The driver's voice rang out from the speaker, she looked at me, waiting for me to get up and move just so she could sit here.

"I came from nothing and where am I? Oh in the seat you're meant to be sitting in, for shit on the street I seem to be doing very well for myself don't I?" She grew more and more affronted with every word I spoke and I couldn't help but find amusement in her fragile ego.

"I don't have the time to argue with someone who is literally less than me, I'll make your life at the Academy hell if you don't watch yourself. That goes for you and your peasant committee too." And with that, she walked to the next free seat. I knew this would happen but I didn't care, I refused to have a miserable time for the next years just because some were delusional enough to believe that at 18 they meant something in this world.

"You definitely won that by the way," Chloe said from the seat next to me and I couldn't help but smile, the next few years were gonna be fun, I'd make sure of it.

Holy fucking shit. "And I thought the last place was extravagant," Markan said to us.

"Honestly, this is even better."It really was. The place was at least ten times larger than the last one. It was more modern but still had castle-like features from what I could tell from the outside. The walls were huge and I guessed that the whole building was at least four stories tall.

Everyone had just left the coach, and we were following the guide towards the entrance of the building but he stopped right at the door. "Quiet down everyone and listen closely. This place is not like the last one, you will have more independence than you have probably ever had in your lives, be responsible. Your phones will have most of the information you need if you have any problems and a practitioner isn't present then there is a response team that you can message. There is also a map on there that you can reference to find your rooms. Good luck." He didn't go through the door after that like I thought he would, instead, he walked back and went around the side of the building to god knows where.

Markan and Chloe gave me a confused look, I felt exactly the same. Some went through the door themselves while others looked just as confused as we were. But I didn't think he was coming back to save us from ourselves so, "Probably just making sure that we know we're for ourselves in this place, gotta take the lead you know."

"Maybe, could have given us a heads up though."

With that, we walked in like the rest of them had decided to do by now. What was revealed to us when we opened the door was nothing less of a masterpiece, Amethyst spread on the walls in intricate little designs that created even bigger ones. Gold dusted on every surface paired with platinum that gave the seams of the walls a bright and airy feel. "So fucking beautiful," Chloe remarked from right next to me. "Should we find our rooms now?"

"Yeah come guys," Markan replied. We looked at our phones for the map, all of us had requested to be close to each other so I was glad to find that we were only a few doors away from each other. We were on the left-hand side of the building so we made our way there to see where we would be staying for a while.

Chloe's hand ran across the walls as we made our way like an excited child, Markan's eyes were filled with wonder and I just couldn't shake the feeling that this was gonna be a wonderful time for all of us, a new start.

Every block of the building seemed to follow a different design, ours being mainly rose gold and quartz. We checked to see if our rooms were basically identical like what they were before or if they were any different. They followed similar layouts but regarding the design of the place, totally different. We got to choose vague preferences of what we would have preferred and they seemed to have a bigger impact than I thought because Markan's room was practically a man cave. It resembled what I could only describe as a house for Batman with its dark design. While me and Chloe both had lighter feels to our room he clearly chose the closest thing to oblique because his room was a cave. It was cool though I'll give him it, the LED lights that he planned to put up would make an amazing contrast.

*Buzz buzz

All of our phones rang at once as we received a message from the Academy.

*Please remember to check your timetables for all of your sessions.*

"So we're starting already, damn" They were really throwing us straight in with the sharks here but I didn't mind, I made it here and I couldn't wait to show them who I was.

"Nothing for today but it says I have a class tomorrow at 10am, what about you guys?"

"Same." Me and Markan said together.

"I don't think we're in the same rooms though," I looked over to his phone, his room number was different than mine but only around the corner on the map. Chloe looked at his as well,

I glanced over at her phone and saw that they were in the same room. "Yeah I'm not surprised, you guys are siblings after all."

"Yeah, similar powers I guess," Chloe remarked.

"Should we get food or explore?"

"How about both?"

After our little adventure, we went back to our rooms to retire for the night. Markan was obviously most excited about the training areas, while I was most excited about the history of magic in general. The food was as pristine as usual, and by the time I left this place, I would no longer eat like a five year old but would instead have a refined taste pállate.

I was tucked into my sheets with me and my thoughts once again, I missed Rain. It was sad that we didn't end up in the same place but we always knew that it was a possibility, she still did very well and ended up at number #4 so she was pleased. I hoped we could still keep in touch. For Caspian, I hadn't heard from him since we left. Our little escapades made a great show for the Trial chambers so everyone believed that our love story was natural and Caspian got to save his reputation. I didn't know where he placed but I'm sure I would find out from somewhere. I didn't know exactly who the elites were that went to this Academy but of course, there was a list for that.

There were actually ranking systems for all students too, and a lot of them. The top boys the top girls the top for any ethnicity that had enough people to rank, the top out of the elites and the top of those who, of course, came from nothing.

I decided that it was about time to see the list of everyone with notable parents here so I could at least get some background knowledge to use in an argument. Oh, they had pictures for some of them too? Even better.

I knew exactly who I was looking for first, that bitch who tried to start something with me on the coach ride.

Andrea Johnson, daughter of Cara and Joel Johnson, the leaders of Australia.
