Celeste-
It was just a matter of how much stamina she had.
It wasn't too long after that when she finally broke under my attacks, I kept to my plan and continued to throw small weak attacks at her so she was forced to use her magic, she was more than okay at the start but we all had a limit. She had realised the weak spot in her defences a little while after I had started my scheming and I could already tell that she was thinking of ways to hone that in even more.
"Woah, that was intense."
"Honestly I'm surprised at how long you lasted, I was starting to get tired myself."
"I definitely need to get my stamina up, they're definitely gonna pick up on that at the academy if they haven't already."
"Well, that's what we're all here for I guess"
"Yeah when you think of it like that I guess your right"
"So where do you wanna go now?"
"Wanna take a look at the fighting chambers now?"
"Hell yeah"
Rain and I came out of the training hall and went to go and see the fighting chambers. The doors of the room completely opposed the rest of the building with its rough intimidating look. The door was black and had Chains which served no purpose but to add to the the dark aesthetic of the room and to maybe prepare you for the chaos that was inside.
As soon as you stepped foot into the room you could feel the energy of blood and fighting. There were two small rings on either side of the room and one large one in the centre. It was crowded in here and where everyone was was beginning to make sense now. Everyone was either seated and cheering on who was fighting or standing up and saying their chants for whoever they believed would win.
Although people were watching the two that were on either side of the room it was clear that the star of the show was who was in the middle. "I'm totally betting on Caspian, he's badass as shit man."
"Shit, I might lose all my money today."
"Better luck next time pal, I told you Caspian was hardcore."
"But Judias is all powerful and shit as well, and his parents are the leaders of North America why would he not win he's had all the training in the world."
In what seemed to be a rare money of silence I overheard the chatter of two guys who seemed to have bet on either one of the fighters Damn, we were starting this competition shit already. Seeing a fight was one thing but seeing a full-on battle with two very strong and notable individuals was a whole other story. The amount of mobile phones that were out gave me a sure idea of this being in the press by tonight.
"YESSSSS!!" The half of them shouted while the others were clearly in disappointment at Judias getting a tough kick. I could barely see the other fighter through the crowd but I assumed that they weren't someone who had parents that were the leaders of anything. We already had Chisila and Chimen Blake with Judias Montgomery and we were even lucky to be in a trial academy with them at that. We also would have known by now if someone of that high of a standing was here so my bets were on him being an assistant for a notable family.
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
Not everyone who was powerful wanted to get in with one of the world leaders or their offspring, not all of them wanted to be in the limelight.
Some just wanted to be the powerhouse in the background.
Being an assistant to a family was a privilege and a notable career in in of itself. There were many positions of someone that worked directly for the family but the main and most important one was simply being the main friend of someone important. As inconspicuous as that may seem they actually had a very important role. They would obviously be protecting the member and fighting with and for them if need be, they would also be a withholder of any secrets the family may have. They also, at times acted as an assassin depending on their skills but their main duty was simply to serve and help the chosen family.
What was interesting about this role was while they were directly involved and on payroll from the family they were also independent individuals. They were needed more than the family needed them. They usually had parents who had the same career as they were already trusted, so they were usually longtime friends of the family. They were also so powerful that the Royals sometimes needed them.
"FINISH HIM!" I heard rain shout from right next to me and it was clear that she was very hyped up and energised for the fighting match today.
"Wanna go to the front?" it was more a decision than it was a question as she grabbed my hands and started making her way through the dense crowd of people. We were both quite short so we went to the front and were close enough to see both opponents in clear view.
The man on the left was tall and had a very sturdy build, his might cascaded through the room and I was not surprised that the essence of his raw masculinity had everyone so turned up. His wavy, nearly black hair sat perfectly on his ears and his face and suited the frame of his face with manly elegance.
He was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen.
The sweat from his brutal attacks cascaded down his hard muscles and created a shine that would make a lesser woman drop her panties instantly. Maybe she was me because I was almost certain that my panties were attempting to leave my body right now.
He had the most unique eyes I had ever seen, the left one was two shades of blue consisting of the deepest ocean blue intertwined with the most neon aqua blue there was. His right eye was orange and blood red which just added to the boldness of his exterior.
At first, I thought that he had to have some sort of water power but by the shards of ice that were being constantly darted in Judias' direction maybe it was an ice power that he had. Not that it had to be one or another, many water benders could make h20 manifest into ice but not all. It all depended on the power of the person and I could not help but wonder if the ability to use h20 overall was a secret power of his.
He threw blow after blow to Judias and was relentless in his attacks, as harsh as it was he probably worked for him and knew that Judias would want this intense training. I knew this because while Judias was a very considerable opponent he was shaky, and manoeuvred
this fight like he had already lost. It was slight but he didn't fight like Caspian did, he moved with the confidence of sure success and it was what Judias lacked. I also knew this because due to the number of obvious slip-ups, Judias had paired with how technical Caspian was in regards to his skill, he refused to take the opportunity, and he refused to do the fatal hits. He couldn't embarrass him and probably didn't want to. He did just enough to put on a show and make sure that Judias looked strong enough but that wasn't a hard task, and enough to win.
It wasn't unusual for the assistants for the family to be more powerful than a family member, I mean, you couldn't determine how strong your kids were and there would definitely be outsiders that were stronger. Plus, they needed to be stronger. They didn't have future countries to run or legislation to pass they just needed to be able to kill and defend when the time was right.
The timer was getting closer to zero and that was when they both upped the anti, The fight got way more intense and It made me notice just how fast Judias was in his movements during this whole thing. While Caspian had the accuracy of...well an assassin Judias also had the agility of a feline. It was clear that his speed was inhumane and had magical advancements but he didn't seem to have it on display today.
Maybe that power of his was weak in that regard and that was the limit of his speed or maybe it was just uncontrollable.
I could easily see how the magic of enhanced speed could create chaos. Not being able to correctly control your landing point and going too fast could cause damage. Also not being able to put a stop to the speed could cause issues as well but that was usually the first thing people trained.
