After meeting with Malto, though I couldn't understand everything that was being said, it seems that I should be careful.
I was correct about my hair, it seems that the people here have some kind of preconceived notion about blue hair, and it could be dangerous for me as well.
I woke up in the middle of the night, I had to use the bathroom as I quietly opened the door, not wanting to make too much noise I heard three voice's coming from the lounge room.
The voices were grandpa's, mom's, and grandmas. I couldn't help myself I quietly tiptoed to the open room and stood next to the doorframe.
- "I don't know what to do dad." Mom was speaking in a worried tone, almost choking on her words she continued speaking, "If he ever finds what she is, I... I don't know what'll happen."
"I've been having her avoid him by sending her here, but he'll start wanting to see her as soon as he has less work to do... I don't know what to do." She was practically on the verge of crying. Hearing the quiver in her voice I almost couldn't hold myself back from rushing in there and hugging her.
"He, he's one of those. I don't know how he'll react when he sees her blue hair, there, there's even the possibility he gets violent."
- "Oh, dear... You don't have to worry too much, okay? I and your father will make sure nothing happens to you and Lulu." Grandma's voice was full of worry as she began to try to calm her down and reassure her.
- "Exactly, and if something does happen, I'll make it so that boy never walks again. You can be sure of it." Grandpa had a confident smile on his face as he also tried to reassure her In his own way.
- "Ignore your father. Just know we'll always have your back, remember that. So you do not need to worry about anything."
- "Haaa, just call us if you ever need anything. We'll always be here for you Latia." Grandpa sighed before speaking to her once more.
I peeked into the room and saw the three of them embracing each other in a group, I wanted to join too! But I still have to use the bathroom.
I turned away from the room and headed towards the bathroom, which was in the opposite direction, as I was heading there I couldn't help but worry.
Mom seemed to be worried about something and it involved dad, she was so worried that it sounded like she would break out into tears.
I just hope nothing serious will happen... hopefully I didn't just jinx it either.
It's been a month since I overheard my mom and my grandparents, yet it continues to irk me. It was about to be my second cycle, which is years for my people, yet I was worried, and I didn't know what for.
I was sitting in the living room of our home, as usual, watching one of my shows. Mom was in the kitchen talking on the Eboc, a device similar to a phone, chatting with one of her friends, which I assumed from the laughter.
There was a small square shiny black flat square moving around under the couch, cleaning the room as it moved around it. On its front was a cat nose, mouth, and whiskers that were obviously hand-drawn.
I had, on the small table in front of me a bunch of paper and pencils, and some of the papers had drawings on them. Drawn by me of course.
They were decent enough as I still lacked good hand and eye coordination. I was a pretty good artist back before I was reincarnated, I guess I'll just have to teach this new body though.

There was a knock on the door, mom, still on the phone, quickly walked to the door. "Hold on for a second, Who is it!?" After getting to the door, she put the device against her chest and carefully approached the door.
- "Package for you, ma'am." The voice of a man came through the door.
- "Mmmm, one second please." She cracked open the door a bit and saw a tall man with short black hair and short pointy ears. He was holding an orange box in his left hand and a clipboard in his right.
- "Latia Bavil?" He asked a question as he stared at her, seeing her nod her head he handed her the clipboard and a pen, "Sign here please."
After signing the paper she was handed the package as the man stepped back. "Good day ma'am." Saying this the man gave a curt goodbye, his eyes peering past her.
- "Yes, you too." She moved and blocked his line of sight and watched the man walk away and get in the mail truck he smirked before driving off with a serious gaze and closing the door. She sighed and looked at the package in her hand, turning around she saw a few strands of blue hair peeking out from behind the wall. "Lulu!" Her surprise was so great that she shouted her name, "What did I tell you about staying out of sight when I open the door!"
Her surprise was soon replaced with fear, "Oh no, what if he saw her. This could be bad. Oh no, oh no." She nearly started panicking, as she did she felt a small tug on her pants, she looked down and saw Lulu gazing up at her in worry.
- "I'm sorry mama, I-I-I just wanted to grab something." Lulu was stuttering over her words as she began apologizing to her mother.
- "It's alright Lulu, it's not your fault. I'm sorry for shouting at you." Hearing her adorable daughter apologizing caused Latia to calm herself down and take a few deep breaths before crouching down and hugging Lulu.
They separated and Latia had a smile on her face, "Tell you what, let's watch that new Super Rangers movie today, I just got it for."
- "Really!? Ok!" Lulu was immediately excited hearing this as she had stars in her eyes.
- "Haha, of course. Just let me talk to your grandpa real quick, ok?"
- "Mm." Lulu nodded and quickly ran towards the living room accompanied by the pitter-patter of her feet against the floor.
- A saddened look took hold of Latia's face, slapping her cheeks the expression immediately left her face, "Get yourself together, I'll just call dad, yeah I'll call him..."
As I was returning to the living room I couldn't help but look back at mom. I saw her face full of worry and distress, and it started weighing on my mind a lot more after seeing her reaction to the possibility of me being found out.
It was a shocker, mom was the kindest of women. She never got angry and she never got upset, yet... she was shouting... I don't like seeing her like this, but I'm just a child, a weak little girl. What to do...?
I-I-I'll learn, Malto told me to work hard, I'll become a genius, I'll have to see if I can go to some sort of library. No, mom won't let me leave out of fear of my hair, maybe... Oh yes! Grandpa has a library, I'll ask him next time I visit.
- "Father, I think word of Lulu is going to get out." Latia's tone was serious while she tightened her grip on the Eboc.
- "Wha- What do you mean?!" Her father's voice screamed out of the device with Latia pulling the Eboc away from her.
- "There was this suspicious delivery man that came just a little while ago, he was looking into the house and also had a strange smirk on his face. I don't know who's behind this, but they know now, and it's going to spread around." Her voice, though very serious had her worry seeping into it.
- "...Ok... Ok, you need to hurry, pack up anything that is absolutely necessary and come to mine and your mother's home. Prepare my daughter and granddaughter's rooms!" Taking a second he advised her as sounds of things being shuffled and yelling out orders were heard through the device.
- "Yes, yes we'll hurry there." Saying this Latia hurriedly disconnected the Eboc, rushing into the living room.
"Lulu!"
- "Yes mama!" Lulu who was sitting on the sofa watching TV turned towards Latia.
- "Come, we have to get ready to leave. Grab some clothes and anything you think you'll need." She was quickly gathering the things she needed for work.
Following her mother's lead, Lulu, though confused rushed to her room to pack up her stuff. Coming out a moment later, she was struggling to drag the suit face chock full of clothes out of her room.
On her back was a strange bunny-like creature in the form of a backpack and hanging from it were a few ornamental objects.
- "All done!" Deciding to give up on pulling the suitcase, Lulu dropped it and let out a sigh with her hands on her hips.
- "Thanks for being quick sweety, let's hurry on now." After patting Lulu on the head and grabbing her suitcase, they headed towards the door.
As Latia reached out to press the door pad, the sound of it unlocking caused her to pause with a dark expression taking hold of her face.
