The sun went down the mountain and then rose again at dawn; the color turned from black to bright yellow in order. After one rotation, the sun reached its end of the day again and sunk behind the vast trees. Binh An kept finding himself repeatedly covered in yellow-green shade and then orange red, eventually losing all of the color together with a pit-black darkness.
Binh An pulled up his map; it had been nearly two days since he began his quest. He was still moving just a moment ago as his chest was still heaving. Binh An finally arrived at the area of many accidents, according to what the residents said.
He hadn't taken a bath for two whole days, his whole body was all sticky from the amount of profuse sweat that was beyond imagination. Compared to his body in the previous life, this waterlogged-like corpse was really untrustworthy, only traveling for a bit and his body was already covered in dust and scattered leaves, as if he went wrestling with the forest.
The third young master certainly did not take care of himself and had given up on exercise altogether due to his illness, resulting in this fragile and weak body. He couldn't count how many times he scolded himself for getting into this mess despite knowing the state of the body's physique.
Himself and uncle Hung were fully aware of this, so before he left, he had to carefully prepare everything beforehand, both the tools and the knowledge.
Four days ago, Binh An and uncle Hung, while on their way to fetch some groceries, went to the homes of survivors to investigate further.
The way people perceive the story was different, they assumed it was a wild animal that attacked them, so they drove the story toward that direction, therefore, the local authority listed those cases as wild animal attacks. Uncle Hung at first couldn't point out anything unusual, so he went to the mountain to see for himself, as a result, he got his injury, but he managed to identify the perpetrator of these crimes.
The Nightmare Tiger, was a tiger that had lived up to several hundred years through training its mind and inner energy, eventually evolving into a more complete version of itself. It was not an uncommon case. There were many animals that exist in this world, most of them still obeyed the law of birth, aging, sickness and death, while a very few were gifted with outstanding perception beyond the capacity of the very species.
These special species, they were born with different mindset, as shown in their behaviors and perceptions. If they found the right way to seclude themselves in peace and in static, immerse themselves in the world of spiritual vitality and intellect, overcome their own difficulty and desires, stay resisting the temptation of acting according to their birth instinct, throughout an unbearing and suffocating time, in an extremely harsh environment, exceeding way past the body’s tolerance, they could reach their ideal point of cultivation and be reborn as a completely new species.
The process was long and cruel, yet completely worth it. Because they didn’t just evolve their minds, they also evolved their outside appearances, maybe with new colors, a change of skin, a bigger size and especially with stronger, more powerful bodies and skill sets.
This species of Nightmare Tiger was neither common nor rare in the wild. If they were to gather in one place, they could form an army.
Binh An didn’t find it strange when it came to the name, what bothered him was the intelligence and understanding of the creatures, he had never heard of a case where the Nightmare Tiger was raging and randomly attacked people.

Another thing to take into consideration was how could a Nightmare Tiger stay in one place for such a long period of time. The first attack was months ago, and it happened to uncle Hung just a few days ago, too.
This particular species always traveled alone without a pack, which gave them the advantage to move freely on their own account as well as a disadvantage of falling easily as a prey for the mages’ practice hunting. Therefore, the Nightmare Tiger constantly moved from one place to another in search of food resources. Its body also adapted to its needs, evolving to a strong and resilient body that could travel long distances without needing to constantly recharge.
The Nightmare Tiger had a superior size compared to normal tigers, its physique has evolved over time, could be more than four meters tall and could reach up to seven meters in length, and weigh more than half a ton. Because of its size, The Nightmare Tiger often didn’t have a safe shelter, for resting, it would bury itself in the ground or hide behind a large stone before continuing to move.
A stand still target was always easier to hit than a moving target, so it wouldn’t make sense for a Nightmare Tiger to settle down and attract people to it by causing many accidents, rather, it's not the Tiger’s style at all. If it wasn't for Binh An who had seen its claw marks on other people with his own eyes, he would probably think it was a type of aggressive new beast. As matter of fact, when he first had a glance at the wound on uncle Hung's body, he was indeed a bit hesitant, unable to make any early conclusion, only having the guts to ask first.
Now, the question was, why did this Nightmare Tiger love this place so much, even go through the length of marking its territory and killing all of those who dare to enter. Even if this place had a rich source of food, with its appetite, it would run out sooner than expected.
According to people's witnesses, it was very aggressive, like a starved feral animal, without the calmness and serenity as ever recorded in ancient literature. Binh An afraid that if this case wasn’t handled properly, there was a possibility for the tiger to move to other areas once this place has dried out of food, upsetting the lives of the residents there and more lives could be taken on accidents.
This area was fortunately quite unpopulated, the people who went up the mountain were mainly lumberjacks, so the damage can be calculated with the fingers, otherwise, it could be up to three or maybe four figures.
Binh An had planned ahead that if this beast refused to stay low and continued to cause harm to this place, Binh An would have to put it down to avoid the further consequences in the near future.
Right now, all Binh An could do was to sit still and wait.
The area where people reported the attack was rather vast compared to his number, his size and his strength. He wouldn’t possibly know which was the exact location of the beast’s hiding even if he had to walk for another two days.
Binh An chose a perfect open location for camping with well ventilated and cleaned up from all bushes, he then set up some seats by piling up the tree branches which he managed to take down with his word. After finishing arranging his little cozy camping spot, he rolled up his sleeves and got ready to go hunting.
Back then, his hunting skills were outstanding, one of the top at the time. Not only could he use the spiritual weapon to hunt beasts and monsters, he also mastered animal-hunting with ordinary weapons like archery and traps. The most valuable prey he hunted under his arrow was a wild boar. He was really proud of his achievement and decided to share the roasting meat with everyone who went on the same campfire. Thinking back, he probably was the only one who found it delicious, the rest must have eaten it with jealousy and frustration.
Since he hadn't honed his skill for such a long time, today he finally had the chance to regain my second profession.
Surpassing this body’s physique, Binh An confidently went one-on-one into the forest. He only missed the first few times as he tried to remember how to set up a trap efficiently, as for the rest of the night, he returned with success, two wild rabbits and a rat. Although it took longer than before, in general, his hunting skills were still at the tip of his fingers.
