YEAR: 2011
Everyone, aside from Number 3 and 4 who were in the cockpit, stopped in their tracks after hearing these words, Izumi looked especially shocked after hearing the words that escaped Kosuke’s mouth. Almost immediately Number 6 rushed in front of Kosuke to do an examination
“Who are you mister? What’s going on?”
Number 6 attempted to calm down Kosuke as best as he could
“Shh, calm down, everything will be okay but first things first, do you remember your name?”
Kosuke shook his head
“Ok, now does the name Hino Kosuke sound familiar?”
After thinking hard for a moment Kosuke nodded his head
“Good, that’s your name, now do you know who that is? If so, can you tell me his name?”
He pointed over to Izumi and as Kosuke saw him he nodded
“Izumi.”
Izumi looked relieved to see Kosuke remembered him
“Now Kosuke can you tell me anything else that you remember?”
Kosuke just shook his head
“I only know Izumi, he’s friend.”
“You don’t remember anything else?”
“No.”
Number 5 stopped asking questions and seemed to have a diagnosis and addressed the others who were in the back of the plane
“It seems like he got short term amnesia from the same blow to the head that cracked his skull, of course there’s the chance he can regain his memories however it’s more likely that he’ll stay like this.”
Number 5 turned back to Kosuke
“It’s best that you get some rest,”
He then turned to Izumi
“You as well.”
The two boys sat in the back seats of the seaplane and almost immediately drifted off into sleep. 5 and 6 just sat there in silence until Number 5 finally spoke
“So, did you see her?”
“Yeah… Yeah I did.”
“What was it like?”
Number 6 felt sick just thinking about it
“It was horrible, that psychotic, sadistic, son of a-”
“Oi, there’s kids.”
“So? They’re unconscious and they’ll be hearing a lot more curses in like 3 days, maybe a week if the trainer is being considerate.”
“Hey, who is the trainer for the new program?”

“Uhh, I think it’s 10?”
Number 5 let out a heavy sigh
“Forget 3 days, if it’s 10 then he’s probably gonna be extra harsh. Oh and what was the name of the program again? I only know that there’s something happening that includes orphans or something.”
“Yeah the name was…”
He knocked on his for a few seconds trying his best to remember
“Ahh I think the boss named it after some tabletop game or something, I think he said something about making them purely loyal to our camp.”
After a few more seconds Number 6 snapped his fingers
“The ‘Templar’ program!”
Number 5 looked rather confused
“Weren’t templars religious knights or something?”
“I think so but I never really dug into it, kinda cool how we have another unit aside from the soldiers and us Numbers although it’s weird that they consist of kids.”
Number 5 had now lay himself across the seats in the plane
“Well what can ya do?”
As Number 6 was about to answer, 5 was already asleep
“How does he do that?”
…
6 hours passed by and a sudden jolt in the plane woke everyone who was asleep, on pure reaction Number 5 reached for the sniper rifle before 6 stopped him
“Easy man, we just landed in Xiamen airport to restock on fuel.”
“Xiamen? Then aren’t we only 7 hours away? Why’d we stop?”
“I just told you dumbass, for fuel. We used up most of it on the first trip because we were in a rush.”
“Ah ok, wake me up when we get to the end.”
Number 6 grabbed 5 before he could go back to sleep
“Nope, it’s our turn to fly.”
Number 5 got up from the seats
“So you can fly a plane but you can’t hotwire a car?”
“Same deal with 3 but I don’t see you annoying him about it.”
“Yeah well unlike you, 3 could kick my ass in five seconds flat.”
6 chuckled a little in response
“Fair enough, he’s a living tank at this point. Now come on, let’s wait in the cockpit.”
…
20 minutes went by with 5 and 6 waiting in the cockpit, astonishingly both Kosuke and Izumi were still sleeping in the back of the plane.
Not long after Numbers 3 and 4 finally entered the plane, as they sat down and closed the door Number 6 yelled back to them
“Ei what took so long? I thought you were just refuelling.”
Number 3 grunted before responding
“You think we can just casually enter an airport and take some fuel?”
Number 6 just stayed silent in response, unsure of how to reply until 3 spoke up again
“Because we can! I was buying some snacks.”
“Well alright then.”
5 and 6 started the plane and took off, going airborne once again. After flying for half an hour both of the boys finally stirred awake with a rumbling stomach. Hearing that they were awake, Number 3 beckoned them to sit with him.
As both the boys sat with him, Number 3 pulled out some snacks that you’d find in a convenience store, this included drinks but also small meals in a box, which when 3 handed one to Kosuke and Izumi they proceeded to devour their food in less than a minute.
“Seems like you were both pretty hungry, makes sense though, it’s been more than 9 hours since you’ve had any food, just make sure to eat properly, drink some water and go back to sleep because this will most likely be the most peaceful moment you’ll have for a long time.”
While the boys ate, Izumi was struggling to break apart some food he was eating but as Number 4 was about to help, Izumi pulled out the small knife he took from the weapons safe at Kosuke’s house and it was inside his pyjama pants the entire time.
However before Izumi could even take it out of the sheath Number 4 immediately took it out of his hands
“How did you get this kid? If you scratched yourself on the blade you’d be dead within 10 seconds!”
After securing the knife in the sheath properly Number 4 handed the knife back to Izumi
“Only use this in emergencies okay?”
Izumi nodded and headed back to sleep with Kosuke following shortly after
…
The final 7 hours passed and the plane landed just off of the shore to what seemed to be an island. Number 6 woke the boys and brought them to the door of the plane that exited to the ocean, and in front of them was a small fishing boat with Number 3 sitting at the back near the motor
“Welcome to your new home boys, welcome to Catanduanes Island.”
