I sat on a chair in my office, the place I usually don’t appear unless it's time for taxes. Even though Jada gave me a very brief and vague explanation on how to get that tiny ass flame going. I had hoped my situation would be better, ya?
She said through visualization. She managed to picture it and get a flame in her hand.
Thus I was going to try something similar. I pictured a ball in my hand, sparkling threads of electricity bouncing around.
—waiting.
Okay, I shook my hands, rock on my thighs.
Attempt two.
There’s definitely energy inside of me. I felt different, more energetic, more... I don’t know the best term for it. I knew when I walked by the light switch, the lights flickered. I knew that I could hear the static frequencies from phones. Even pick up their communication within five feet.
So I should be able to do some kind of shock charging, right?
I tried picturing electricity webbing between my two palms. Nada!
Then it hit me, what if the energy value is too weak to exit my body. I should be able to move it inside my body, like how chi is used in wuxia light novels. Licking my lips, I closed my eyes and pictured this blue energy moving through my body in circulations. I saw enough chakra charts to be able to bullshit a meridian route.
I sat perfectly still, thinking nothing about energy rotating within me.
At first, it did nothing.
Then slowly, I began to feel really comfortable.
It felt like I was sleeping. Well until someone came in and interrupted me.
I open my eyes to find Lillian with her mouth open. I looked down and saw blue webs flickering all over me. I still felt like I was really comfortable. I didn’t know how to explain it but it’s questionable why she decided to come to my room.
“Yes?”
Lillian licked her lips but there was fear in her eyes.
“I was going to ask if you wanted some company.” She said with a glance back.
My eyes went down to the valley of her thighs and I thought I earned a bit of playtime. Plus I’m sure that I could accidentally trigger my ability by rubbing against her.

I grabbed my pants and a loose shirt. Having gotten a hang of the electric tingles that made putting on cotton or silk not worth it. I ignored Jada stretching over the bed. It’s like she was trying to stake her claim or something. Lillian comes over, she follows right behind later that night. I was more than happy to be used. What guy wouldn’t be in this situation? Maybe, Shawn.
I couldn’t understand what they were fighting about. Neither of them could keep up with my young man genes. I winked into the mirror before flexing. Damn, I look like millions bucks.
I walked downstairs and opened the fridge. Grabbing a yogurt and a bottle of water, realizing that I would have to restock if I didn’t kick these guys out. I walked into the cafe area and noticed the small group huddle around the plasma again.
Walking over, I noticed the military being demolished by super aggressive zombies.

News Reporter: — it seems that the bullets are just bouncing off them. The military switched to heavy weaponry but they are just running right through it. Only the small ones are being knocked down.
Oh shit, what is that thing!
The camera panned over it. A gigantic creature that stood taller than some buildings. It ripped off a chunk of a building and hurled it into the crowd of tanks. Jets swooped in launching missiles into the spiky back.
I don’t even think it did anything but alerted it to the jets.
News Reporter: —heavens. It just crushed a jet. It was so quick, reached up like it was swatting flies. Oh my heavens, it is coming right for us!
The camera zooms in on the hand, three fingered talons slashing right at them. The tv turned to the right back scene before it changed to the guy behind the desk.
Broadcaster: — just been told that due to the new emergence of threat, the evacuation will postpone until further notice. I am asked to repeat that you should not go outside under any circumstances. If you are running out of food, please call this help line. We will send a special team over to bring you more food.
The group turned to me like I had any answers.
“We have plenty of leftovers from the girls overcooking. We can hold out if we ration it for another two weeks, after that you can guess whether or not they will be able to rescue us.” I said while dipping my spoon into my yogurt.
Emily grabbed the edge of the chair.
“Don’t worry. I saw some of the clips that people shot of those special soldiers. They have like ‘Railgun’ powers and stuff. Or just look at any anime and they can do that stuff. However, I don’t know how strong they are compared to that giant beast.”
We turned to her.
She shrugged. “What? Not everybody can just play games. My mother has been constantly texting me.”
Her phone buzzed at that exact moment.
Em’s Mother: Hey, did you fuck that sexy beast of a man yet? You better hurry up before other girls claim him. You know men focus on saving the better play thing.
Em: Mom, that’s so not true. Some people respect a woman's intelligence and I have that in spades.
Em’s Mother: The only people who respect your intelligence are me and your father. Everybody is just wondering what you got under those clothes. You don’t want to end up like your sister and marrying a rich guy. That ended up going bankrupt from overreaching and now she stuck with her two best friends and some skinny nerd spouting facts at her.
Em: Mom, that’s so disrespectful to women. You can’t be s—
Em’s Mother: I can say whatever I want. It was my mother walking those streets, you are just expressing what we already fought for. Like fighting for you to be the best woman another man sees before he takes in a room.
I chuckled and walked away. I walked to the large display window. Pulling the curtain back slightly, my body froze. My mind went into instant shut down. Staring at me were one of those big fucking zombies. The one on the news that tore through a humvee like it was a big Christmas present.
My heart restarts and slowly releases the blinds. Acting as if I never saw anything, upon the curtain blocking me. I slowly crept away, making a dash towards my basement. I jammed the code in. I felt the building shake but I ran to my battle armor.
The one I used to use when taking out rival gangs. I quickly began putting it on.
There was another shake to the building. I grabbed for the assault rifle but then remembered what happened to the cops. I held up my hands and blue light glowed before a crackle sound. I couldn’t yet extend it outside my body, but I could coat objects.
I walked to my shelf of swords and pulled out a titanium longsword. It’s plain but I could hold it when extending my arm out.
I heard screams that sounded like shells going off next to me. I, honestly, hesitated about going up. However, am I not a man? Even if I was a small man, I would still be a man.
I rushed upstairs much faster. It’s exhilarating feeling the power flow through me. I paused at the top stair, watching Joe get smacked by a computer. He went down before he could even be useful. The zombie thing turned to me, it didn’t roar or posture. It came straight away.
Fast.
Its claws raised up and slammed down at me from a diagonal angle. I stepped back down the stairs, then flew up. Coming out of the debris of the destroyed wall, the sword pointed behind me. Blue flash between us, it raised an arm.
But as I stepped past it, the arm flew behind me. It looks down at its arm with a weird expression. It looked up to see me swinging again. It stepped back.
I blinked in surprise. The bastard is smart, too smart.
I took a step towards it and it turned tail and ran.
I scratched my head and looked back to see Emily and that other girl, Tom something, huddling around Joe.
