After a short journey, we landed before the mobile home. I threw open the door to see Darren working fiercely at the laptop. He only threw me a short glance before returning to his work.
“Did you fail to retrieve him? Kind of back too soon to have infiltrated a government facility.” he said in doubt.
I allowed Brendan Barron to speak rather than toot my own horn.
“He already kidnapped me.” Brendan looked around while holding his nose in disgust. “Young man, could you not have cleaned up before inviting me here? Talk about a lack of manners in kids these days.”
He grumbled on as he took a seat.
I nodded in approval. This place was a fucking mess.
Darren looked around and shrugged. “Not everybody could live in a fancy apartment with cleaning servants during trying times.” He rebuked, before continuing. “Anyway, I have the blueprints for the city done. If you captured all the worker bees. We can begin construction soon.”
Darren pushed the laptop over to Brendan and I took a peek at the data before nodding. It would work.
Having a brainiac was the right decision.
“I’ll be back.”
Over the course of the next months, I kidnap anybody who was labeled with the ability to be useful in construction, research, food production, or weapons manufacturing. It was ironically, going according to Darren plans.
He even foresaw the government's counter attack to me attacking and kidnapping their high level resources, the scientist or metas.
It was why, half a year after I put the mindset to create a cult. I am standing over six ringed mountains. Well, the mountains are positioned in the format of a star. It has some kind of magical applications that pull down hidden energies that increase the strength of metas, plants, and domesticated animals.
To be honest, I didn’t understand all the hi-ber-gibberish. All I knew was that, after it was settled, my meditation became more fruitful.
Anyway, the reason I was standing above this ring was because six rank five metas were encircling me.
I bet they hoped that if they could take me down, then they could split the resources below. Maybe even make use of something I already created. It was smart thinking but there are two things I am good at. Sleeping with women and brute force.
I wasted none of the limited time I had. Cough, I had too much free time. Everything I needed done was done for me.
Cough, I digress.
I started out with equipping lightning armor and a spear, then I attacked like a flash of light.
I attacked the weakest looking party first, the geek in robes.
My spear slammed into his magic barrier and I watched in joy as his face, which was grinning turned into horror.
His shield gave under my rapid strike, over a hundred strikes in a matter of millisecond. His teammates didn’t have my reaction speed.
It was clear.
Blood painted the dull purple horizon, raining down with two heavier pieces of hail. I spun and spun my spear, dancing between someone shooting bullets and arrows.
While another golden boy tried to smack me with golden spears. The last two had to be some kind of support but I didn’t pay attention to them. They were women and women were prized possession in times of crisis.
Who else if not me, deserved their devotion?
Laughing, I fought to get closer. They were trying to swarm me under a barrage of rangle attacks?
Shit was working.
I flashed backward and slammed down with multitude of thunder strikes. However, the two prizes held up a golden and purple shield that deflected or stopped my strikes.
“Hey, please don’t do that. I’m trying to cull the sheep so that we can be together. Don’t you understand how much love I have towards you?” I laughed and mocked.
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
They didn’t respond but it was clear it got to them. The sheep that is.
They increased their attacks. Painting the sky in gold and reds.
I think the guy shooting bullets switched to missiles. I didn’t see any jets or shit flying round.
However, now that I was on the defensive mindset. I built a dome barrier out of lightning while increasing my number and strength of lightning strikes. Getting more and more creative with it.
Wolfs and dragons stroke down like angry girlfriends who just found out you cheated on them.
I could see sweat pooling down the foreheads of the two women.
Definitely when the lightning turned from light shade of purple to dark blue into the realm of white lightning that was so concentrated. It no longer formed beautiful constructs but came down like the finger of god.
I had to angle that blast just in case the two beauties couldn’t withstand it.
Amazing thinking which I couldn’t take credit for. Darren warned me over an earpiece and the bastard was right like always. Kind of irksome.
My opposition was blasted out of the sky and I had no idea how many were still living. But I rain down less life-threatening lightning on them. With the goal to keep them down and out.
If they were like me, I wouldn’t be able to kill them unless I hit them with a few blasts like the finger of God. However, if they were like the geek?
Good Game.
I laughed as I floated down to them.
“Out of six of you who came to siege me. Four remains. The best of it all, the women too. I wondered if your forces would ransom you back?” I tapped my chin as I lampoon.
Chains of purple lightning wrapped around them. I floated their unconscious form back to the valley city and had the security team clamp anti-meta cuffs around them, ushering them off to the holding cell.
I reappeared in front of Darren who was drinking coffee while replaying the fight.
“You know, you could have ended that right of the back. Instead of giving the enemies the thought that they could come up with a way to beat you.” he complained.
I glance at him with a look of horror, “didn’t you tell me to take it easy on them? And to showboat?”
Darren shrugged, “You could have showboated by insta-kill. The russians, Flame Empress, insta-kills all her opponents. The Chinese, Dragon God, also takes out his opponents in ten seconds or less. You took thirteen seconds.”
Brenda added in, “Darren has a point. Now you know why you are ranked below them even though people say you might be the strongest.”
The new girl even chipped in, “But is he the strongest though? I mean, he had to run with his tail between his legs while the Dragon God chased him. We haven’t seen him fight the Flame Empress but we know that the Brits, Enchantress, has enchanted him many times. We even have the footage to prove it.”
“Hey, this is insubordination. I could totally fry you and people would understand.” I glance away in embarrassment. Clearing my throat, I proceeded, “Anyway, what is the plan with the four of them? Are we really going to ransom them back to the Federation? Also, is it just me or does anybody else find it strange that everybody else kept their country name. But.. the Americans had to change their names to the Federation like this was some big awe-inspiring name. Like what the fuck? Couldn’t they think of something a little more impressive?”
Someone coughs, “Thunder Dynasty.”
I spun around and gave that techie a low level taser charged. “Fucker, that’s cool as a name. Plus didn’t that big booby sci-nerd say that my children could potentially have variations of my power? So then wouldn’t I really be a Dynasty?”
I glared around, waiting with hands that crackled.
Darren cleared his throat, “Boss, let’s move on.”
He gestured at the screen that showed an underwater mine.
“We are getting a weekly output of fifty tons of metal but we need to expand this number by at least four times if we want to explore the stars.” Darren sent a glance at Brendan.
Brendan snorted, “If we listen to what I say, we can get metals from space. Even though it isn’t tested on a large scale, I have tons of blueprints we can use to mine asteroids and the like. We can be the first in history to do so.”
I held up a hand to stop him from fanboying.
“What about the material guys? Are they producing enough to sustain his project for outer space? Because, now as the leader of a cult, I kinda want space dominance.” I rubbed my hands while smiling cocky.
The new girl snickered and we all turned to her.
She snapped to attention upon seeing our nasty looks.
“Anything to share?” I asked.
She coughed, “I was just reading an article and someone calling himself Space King. Challenged the top five to duel. The forum is heated with debate whether someone with spatial abilities could even beat the weakest of the top five, Illusion guy.”
Darren scrolled through his holo-screen, “I doubt someone with space powers would be able to beat boss. He can disrupt space. Plus the boss has practical experience with fighting people who can teleport like the Dragon God. Who currently, sits at rank one. So some nooby wouldn’t be able to win, right?”
Brendan shrugged as he too was looking at this new information.
“If he understands spatial ability on a high level, then it is possible for him to beat element users like Flame Empress and Mister Thunder God, here.”
I blinked.
“What do you mean it is possible? Do you think I have to go in person to beat a shrimp like this? All I have to do is create thunder constructs and have them swarm him. Plus how the fuck can I lose in my own terrirtory? It’s not like I’m going to challenge him but he is going to challenge me. Thus home field advantage.”
Darren tilted his head, “I don’t think it works like that boss.”
Brendan and the new girl nodded, but I could see the smirks on their lips, hear their disgusting thoughts.
Everybody wanted to be a comedian.
Hope they fucking choked on their laughter.
I vanished after dropping them with a non-lethal taser.
