First of all, thanks everyone for reading. I've said that a lot now, but I'm going to keep on repeating it. This has been a passion project for me and to see that passion reflected in you has helped me immensely. That said, I need a break. I can't understate just how mentally tiring writing is for me. It also feels like it drains all my creativity from me. I have a lot of hobbies, writing being one I don't do that often. I had almost no energy left over after writing for a couple days. It genuinely felt like a mini depressive episode, very weird. Maybe once I feel a bit more stable, I'll write a new arc for Bernin, there's a lot still to do for her after all. Don't wait around though, this is a very very very strong maybe.
There weren't really any questions in the last one and since I wish to eventually return I think I'm gonna keep it this way. Instead I'm gonna talk a bit about how this setting got started initially. It's quite simple really, I'm a massive TTRPG nerd and as all TTRPG nerds do I dream up weird settings and just leave them laying about. The world of Bernin got created way before she did, when I wished to explore the exploration aspect of TTRPG's. I always loved the raiding tombs, seeing fallen empires part of that. So then the question became how did the disaster happen. In fantasy that's generally really easy. Wizards. It also came with the massive bonus of being the reason people don't trust magic any more. Bernin starts when civilisation has begun to repair itself and those ruins suddenly look very appetizing for nobility. After all, it just sitting there, unconquered. It's just been a while, so nature has adapted and with magic in the mix, it adapted to that as well. So starts the age of exploration.

With that I hope you have enjoyed a little bit of peek behind the curtain. I'm not sure if I'll ever be back so have an amazing time out there and remember: Even in a magical society, someone has to clean the gutters. They just get cool magic brooms to help them out.
