Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Bernin was standing outside the door. She knew that she had to go back in. The kid deserved it, he deserved to know just what was going on. Taking a final breath she opened the door and walked back in.

“Are you ready?”

“Oh, uh yes miss. Where are we going?”

“First things first, my name Bernin Yrril. What’s your name?”

“Kirrin. Didn’t my uncle tell you?”

“No. Kirrin, do you understand what your uncle was doing here?”

“He said he was curing me of some magical disease. That I had to come with him immediately to make sure I didn’t spread it to my mom, dad and my little sister.”

“Where did he take you from?”

“My home-town.”

“And what’s the name of that town Kirrin?”

“It’s Lakeside”

“That’s good Kirrin, We’re going to a specialist first and then we’ll see about taking you home. How do you feel about that?”

“Where are we going first?”

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

“Do you know where wizards are trained? Where they generally live?”

“No, dad said that wizards were dangerous and had to be trained somewhere away from others.”

“Yes, they are taken to the great desert. In the middle of that desert in the great university. It’s a full city of glass. I’m sure you’ll like it.”

“Wow, how does that work?”

“Magic.”

She smiled slightly. The university was truly a magical sight. Even growing up there it never truly lost its splendour. Even now, one of her most precious memories was a sunset. The way the city reflected the sun until the final drop of light faded.

“We’re going to go there now, are you ready? Did you check the suitcase?”

“Yes it had everything but Spook.”

“Spook?”

“Yeah,he keeps me safe. Look.”

He opened the suitcase up and took out a small rag with what looks like a head. All made from a single piece of blue fabric.

“Well, good. Then we’ll leave.”

“How are we going all the way to the desert?”

“Why, magic of course”

Smiling to herself. This never got old. She usually took her time travelling around. She enjoyed her time on the road. But this took precedent. She grabbed a small decorated wooden wand from her pack. It was a piece of dark wood, decorated with sigils and lines. The pattern was complex and honestly made very little sense to her. She took a single enchanting elective and even then she almost failed it.

“Here, stand close to me. We are going by teleport.”

“Alright, but what’s a teleport?”

Without waiting, she broke the stick and a circle lit up under her feet. Purple magic shone briefly. She saw him react and try to pull back. She grabbed him quickly before he could step out of the circle. With a final flash the tower was empty once more.
