“Good luck on the road Mr.Kurt”
"See you guys"
The caravan had made its final preparations. Arden and matt had gathered to say goodbye to the caravan.
After Matt went to the adventurers and said goodbye to them, the caravan finished its final preparations and was ready to set off.
“Okay guys we're leaving,” said Mr. kurt.
Matt and Arden glanced behind the caravan as it quickly left the streets of Petra.
“There are two of us left, what are you planning to do today?” Matt said.
“It might be good idea to investigate Petra, and I need to inquire about that land sale,” Arden said.
“Can we afford it?” Matt said.
"I don't know dude, but it's worth investigating",
“What are you going to do?” Arden said.
“I was planning to check out the adventurers guild too”
"City council and adventurers guild close, let's go," said Arden
Petra was like cities far from almost the whole point of civilization. It was the gathering point for refugees who complained about the high cost of living in big cities. It was also the gathering point for adventurers who came here in hopes of finding a dungean in places no one had looked before. Because of this, it was racially more relaxed and friendly than in normal cities, and tensions between races were negligible unlike in big cities.
While the two were walking the streets of Petra, they were exposed to the realities of petra rather than the realities of the world. The streets were lively and full of children's laughter and stalls opening vendors.
At the end of their longer-than-normal journey, they had arrived at the downtown square. The square was where all the vital buildings of Petra were found. These consisted of the Banks guild branch, the City council, the Adventurers guild, the Worker guild, and many more guilds.
In the middle of the square, there was an ornamental pool with water flowing from several statues.
"Let's meet by the pool when we're done"
Arden could see that Matt was dying to get his adventurer card.
“Are you going to the Parliament building too?”
The money they stole from the bandits was 112 gold. Half of it was Arden, so he had 56 gold to use.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
“As a matter of fact, my friend… I am not willing to risk myself like you, I am thinking of opening an inn if I can afford it,” he said.
Matt scrutinized his friend standing next to him, then placed his hand on his shoulder.
“I was going to need a place to stay after I came back from my adventures anyway, I hope I can get some discount,” he said, and smiled.
“I'll always have a room for you if I can afford it, man,” Arden said.
Arden had more or less understood how precious gold was in his morning conversation with the innkeeper. He was actually quite surprised when he got this information. Because Arden and Matt were rich.
A worker was earning about 10 copper per day. 100 copper was equal to 1 silver. It was 1 gold in 100 silver.
Arden thought they were rich, but had trouble calculating how much the idea of building an inn would cost. Besides, since it would be outside the city walls, the costs would be lower than normal, but he still couldn't be sure.
"See you then," he said, and Matt walked past the arden to the large building that had 'guild of adventurers' written in large letters above its door.
Arden started walking towards the city council building.
The building was the largest building in the square. It was made in a European style. And it had big windows.
Arden stepped through the huge open door. The large windows were obviously very helpful in lighting, so there was a well-lit lobby opposite.
He walked slowly towards the large table in front of the door. A young woman was examining a few papers on the table and was absorbed in what she was doing.
“Ahem…”
When the woman does not notice due to absent-mindedness
"Hi" he said to get her attention
“Oh, I am sorry, how can I help you?” he said.
“I came to inquire about field sales”
“Of course, sales will be made with the auction to be held 2 days later. If you want to know which areas are for sale, you can examine the areas in the map room at the end of the right lane.”
Arden nodded, thanking her, and began walking towards the room she had indicated.
Seeing that the door was open, he knocked on the door as a courtesy and entered. He was shocked by what he saw. There was a large table in the middle of the room, and on it was a miniature 3D map of Petra and its surroundings, and even floating clouds were visible in some parts.
“Hahha, isn't it good? Is it your first time seeing the [cartographer] skill?”
“The [cartographer] skill?”
Seeing Arden's shocked expression, the man continued to speak.
"Some cartographers gain the "Real map" skill in lv10, and what you see in front of you is the product of this skill"
“This is really cool,” he said.
“I suppose you came for the areas to be sold?”
This was enough to draw Arden, who forgot his reason for coming, to reality.
“Yes, can we see it on this map”
“That was already our aim. What kind of place were you planning to take”
Arden thought about the question for a while, then began to speak.
“It doesn't have to be very big, there is enough space to build an inn on it. Also, can I know the estimated prices?” he said, hoping to get an answer.
“An inn outside the walls, are you serious?
Seeing Arden nod in agreement, he continued.
“Hmm, I think I can suggest a place by the lake, we deliberately divided the lakeside into smaller zones and it is a beautiful place with a view,” he said.
The places that the man pointed to with his hand on the map were broken into small pieces by a yellow light.
“Okay, prices.”
“The opening price is 10 gold coins, although I can't say for sure, I think it will cost at least 20 gold,” he said.
“Hmm, do you know who is doing the Construction work around here?”
"You can usually have small buildings like inns built in the 'worker guild'," he said.
After asking a few more questions, Arden left the room and headed towards the exit. He remembered that he had forgotten to ask something important just as he was leaving the building, and approached the receptionist woman sitting at the desk in the lobby.
This time her shadow fell on the woman and she lifted her head.
“Is there anything else I can help with?”
“I just wanted to know where the auction will take place”
“It is located across the square at 2 o'clock in the Petra auction hall”
“Oh, thank you.”
After collecting all the information about the auction, Arden came to the front of the pool. Not seeing Matt, it occurred to him that the proceedings in the adventurers guild could take quite a while, and he decided to go to the workers guild to find out how much the Inn would cost.
