Arden's place
Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Filled with laughter and conversation, the lobby of the grand inn reminded Arden of his uncle's bar. Although in a completely different world, the purpose of an inn or bar was to have this atmosphere of laughter and friendliness.

Sitting next to him, Matt took occasional sips of his beer and watched the table. Arden noticed that he was watching the adventurers in the Caravan.

After saying "Dude, I'll be back soon" he started walking towards the section where the Adventurers were sitting.

Arden looked after his friend, who had left him alone at the table. Arden thought Matt was more used to this world than he was. Despite his leg injury, he was able to make sensible decisions in the prison where they were imprisoned. Arden considered the differences and smiled.

Mr. Kurt must have seen Arden left alone at the table by Matt, as he sat down next to him with a beer glass in his hand.

“I see you're left alone,” he said, putting a hand on Arden's shoulder.

Arden smiled and nodded.

“When will the caravan depart again,” he said to start a conversation.

"We'll probably be leaving Petra by noon tomorrow, and we're not that far from our destination after all."

Arden and matt did not know where Mr. kurt's caravan was going. As soon as they came to this world, they literally fell into the arms of bandits and didn't know much about the world.

“If it's not a secret where are you going Mr. Kurt”

As Arden said this, he watched the adventurers Matt spoke to. For the caravan, adventurers of their level were a bit too much.

“Hmmm.” He seemed torn between saying it or not.

“Fuck it, it will be revealed in a few weeks anyway,” he said, and began to tell the secret he had been hiding for a long time, albeit in a low voice.

Arden turned her full attention to hearing what the caravan manager had to say.

“6 months ago, a group of adventurers came to the adventurers guild in Avelez with a message. You know Avalez, right?" Seeing no sign of understanding on Arden's face, he must have felt the need to introduce avelez a little bit, so he began to speak.

“Avalez is the continent's largest city, the city of all the famous adventurers reside in. Anyway, 6 months ago, a group of adventurers reported a situation and that's how our journey started.”

After taking a sip of his beer, he continued.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

"The guild gathered the most competent men they could find and they prepared to embark on a journey, of course, when I was the highest level caravan manager in the city, I was left to be the caravan manager"

Arden was dying to know the reason for the trip. He was beginning to feel as if he was opening the curtain of a great mystery.

“What was the report about?” Arden asked, dying to hear the answer.

“About lost temples” Mr kurt saw an expression of complete incomprehension as he expected to see surprise in his eyes.

"Don't tell me you don't know what lost temples are"

“As you know, Mr. I don't know much about the world, the town where we stayed was not very connected with the world” was one of the lies they made up to reduce the suspicions.

"Still, it's strange that you haven't heard of it, anyway Lost temples, where the gods left their legacies, everyone has been looking for these temples for thousands of years since the gods left, and they've finally been found."

This time, Arden's eyes widened as expected. Mr kurt continued his speech excitedly.

"If true, this will change everything, I'm sure the current petra will grow 10 times larger"

Mr.kurt, leaning towards arden

“I heard that in a few days the city council is planning to sell the land around Petra, I would buy some land with the gold I have in your place,” he said.

Arden's eyes widened when he heard this advice. He understood that the money they had taken from the bandits was not so secret.

“Mr. Kurt We..”

“You don't need to explain, we didn't have the right to the money you earned before we came, just the two of you don't seem like bad people, so I'm helping you,” he said and stood up.

“Have a good time, I need to chat with the other members of the caravan,” he said, and left Arden in deep thought.

--------------

Birds chirping sounds outside the window filled the room. Arden awoke as beams of light scattered across the room. Although he was careful not to get drunk, the long journey and the stress he had experienced last week had caused him to be blindly drunk.

The room was filled with people he didn't know, but he hadn't seen Matt among the sleeping crowd. Without waking anyone, he opened the door and went out. The room looked like it was on the 2nd floor of the inn. He descended the stairs towards the lobby of the inn.

The lobby lacked the festive mood of yesterday. A few people who got up early were having breakfast and most of the tables were empty.

He walked slowly to the bar counter, which the innkeeper was busy wiping, and sat down.

Seeing that Arden was sitting, he lifted his head and looked at Arden.

"Good morning "

The innkeeper poured some beer into a clean glass and handed it to him.

“Hangover's best solution,” he said, and laughed.

“Oh, thanks hmm…”

“Gordon, innkeeper gordon”

“Arden, nice to meet you”

Arden took a long sip of the medicine the innkeeper had placed in front of him. Then he remembered his conversation with mr.kurt yesterday.

"I heard the city council is selling the land outside of petra, is it true?"

“Yeah, I guess they needed money to renovate the walls, it will start in 2 days I guess”

“Is it dangerous outside the walls?

“Not much of a danger except a pack of wolves that appear every few years”

“Are you planning to buy it?”

“I'm just thinking about it,” Arden said.

“If you are thinking of buying, I recommend the lakeside, the lake has very delicious fish,” he said.

Just then, Matt staggered down the stairs and began walking in the direction Arden was sitting.

“One more medicine.” He turned to the innkeeper and smiled.

"Good morning mate" Arden said.

“Good morning to you”

“What it is this”

“Just drink it will help”

Matt took a long sip after sniffing the glass.

“Well, you were talking pretty curiously to the adventurers yesterday,” Arden said.

"I found what I want to do man I'm going to be an adventurer" he said and smiled

"Are you sure? Seems like a pretty dangerous job"

"You don't start tasks right away, they have a training program for beginners"

Seeing his friend's confident demeanor, Arden couldn't push any further. Just then, Mr kurt's voice was heard from upstairs.

“"Wake up, little princesses, we're leaving after breakfast"
