Chapter 13 - Bathhouse

Chapter 13 - Bathhouse

As the sky was just getting light, Arden had left Matt and headed towards the West Gate of Petra. He was supposed to take a break from training today and be there during the construction of the bathhouse. Since Mr.Alex and his team had never done a bathhouse before, Arden had to guide them. When he got out of the city gate, he saw Mr Alex's carriage parked by the side of the road.

"Good morning "

"Oh good morning to you too, we've been waiting for you." said Alex, smiling.

'The workmen's day starts early in any world,' thought Arden.

“I hope you didn't wait too long,” Arden said.

"No, we've just arrived, if you're ready, let's go," he said, pointing to the carriage door with his hand.

Without further delay, Arden got into the carriage and the carriage began to make its way to the inn. On the way to the inn, city guards could be seen patrolling the road.Soon they came to the lakeside. Arden and Alex got out of the carriage. There was a morning chill in the air, and this coldness was increased by the fact that they were by the lake.

Arden walked towards the inn without waiting outside any longer. As the main door of the inn was still not fixed, they went straight to the lobby.

“Brrr, let's light that fireplace as soon as the door is in place,” he said.

Unlike Arden, Alex was dressed a little thicker. Arden thought he should buy winter clothes. Arden was wearing the clothes he wore when he came to this world. But the weather looked like it was going to get colder and he looked like he would need a jacket.

“Winter is coming. You better get yourself a good coat.” said Mr Alex.

While the two were talking about the weather, the workers had reached the inn. When the workers arrived, Arden and Alex went to the place where the bathhouse would be built. The bathhouse was located at the end of the corridor where the rooms on the lower floor were located. Since the bathhouse will be built for both men and women, a place like additional buildings added to the main building was made on both the right and left of the corridor.

Seeing the completely empty rooms, Arden sketched the bathhouse in his mind. But he had to learn whether they could be done or not.

“Mr alex, is it possible for us to build a continuous flowing water source from the lake next to us?”

Mr alex brought his hand to his chin.

“It is possible, but we need a water wizard. We will need some runes"

Runes could be thought of as word magic being worked on a certain ground. He had learned what runes were, though he hadn't fully learned them in the lessons.

"How much would I have to pay for a job like this," he said.

“We can handle it for 40 silver”

“And how much does it cost to keep this water at a certain temperature?”

“We can do it for the same price. "Things like this are pretty standard," he said.

Arden nodded, and they went back to the lobby. Arden began to draw his dream bathhouse on paper. After he had finished drawing, he handed the paper over to Alex.

There would be a large pool in the middle of the bathhouse. There were places where he could sit and wash in the corners of the walls. At the entrance of the bathhouse, there were closets to put clothes. Arden had designed it in a part of the modern showers that flowed constantly. Of course, all of these would feed a water tank to be built outside the inn. Arden showed Alex how everything worked.

He listened carefully to what Alex Arden was saying. After all, this was something he had never done before. If this business went well, maybe he could gain a few levels. Alex nodded after listening to everything.

“I think I understood, first of all, the water tank must be built immediately, and then the pipes must be laid. We can handle it until evening. But we'll have to wait until tomorrow for the runes to be engraved.” Arden was not surprised by the project's estimation of completion. These workers had many talents that could speed things up.

Alex immediately gathered a group of workers and went to determine where the water tank would be built. Before long, he returned with fewer people than he went to, and headed for the rooms where the bathhouse would be built. This time, Arden followed Alex, making sure his orders were the same as what he wanted.

Workers started to work without wasting time. Arden spent some time watching the workers work, then returned to the lobby. Not all of the workers who came today were working in the construction of the bathhouse and water tank. A few workers were installing doors and windows.

After Alex made sure that everything went well, he came to the lobby himself.

“Mr. Arden, I'm curious about something."

“What is that MR alex”

“Why did you spend so much money to build this bathhouse? If you remove this part from the project, you will profit 3-4 gold.”

“You might call it selfishness.”

"I do not understand"

“Mr.Alex, where I came from, there was a bathhousehouse where I went with my father. When my father, who we usually go to after my father leaves work, sits in the hot water, all his fatigue is relieved. I can say that when I went with him, I kind of got addicted.” Arden smiled and said when he remembered his old days.

After listening to Arden, Alex understood why he wanted a Bathhouse for the inn. The workers continued to work. Arden and alex took a tour of the inn from time to time as they studied the progress of the business.

Time passed quickly and it was starting to get dark. The workers finished their work and prepared to return to the city. Arden and alex were examining the state of the bath for the last time.

He nodded as he saw that everything was going the way he wanted.

“I guess we have to wait for the runes to be crafted for the final tests,” Arden said.

“Exactly, Also, the items will be ready to be brought in after the area is cleared tomorrow.”

After Arden and Alex talked a little more, they got into the carriage and set off for Petra.
