Zyra walked alongside her team, the cool night air easing some of the tiredness she felt after the battle. She looked at her teammates and felt a little ashamed.
"Sorry, guys," she said, looking down. "I know I could have defeated the flesh-eating zombie alone, but the guild master wanted to get an idea of its strength and abilities. I didn't want to put you in danger, but I guess I ended up doing it anyway."
"Don't worry about it, Zyra," the wizard replied. "We understand your reasons and know you wouldn't do anything to put the team in danger without a good reason."
"But still, I'm sorry," Zyra continued. "I shouldn't have put you through that."
The gentle breeze rustled her long red hair.
"You don't have to apologize so much," said the rogue. "We're a team and we're here to help each other. Besides, defeating the flesh-eating zombie was a great victory for us. We're proud that we did it together."
Zyra looked at the team and smiled. She knew she had chosen an incredible team to go by her side.
Looking to the side, Zyra noticed Lilian.
Seeing Zyra approaching, Lilian quickly instructed, "Quick, Odin, make her not see me!"
The raven pretended not to understand and continued flying. "Traitor," Lilian muttered.
Zyra gave Lilian a stern ear-pulling. "Young lady, how could you do this, come after us in this dangerous forest, especially at your level? Don't ever do it again!" she scolded. "But you did well."
Lilian beamed a huge smile on her face, like an innocent child who had just played a prank. "Sorry, Zyra, I just wanted to help," Lilian said, still smiling. "I know I'm a lower level than you guys, but I wanted to show that I can be useful too."
Zyra sighed but couldn't help but smile at Lilian's enthusiasm. "You are useful, Lilian, but you shouldn't put your life at risk like that. You are a valuable member of our team and our town, and we need you to keep advancing." Lilian nodded, still smiling. "Thank you, Zyra. I'll try to be more careful next time, I promise."

The team continued walking until they reached the guild's entrance, where they were greeted by other members who welcomed them. Zyra said goodbye to her team, wishing them a good night and thanking them for their excellent work. She then went up the stairs to the guild master's room.
As soon as she entered the room, Zyra saw the leader sitting, who looked at her calmly. "Zyra, why did I make you take this whole team with you?" he asked.
"I already told you I preferred to go alone," Zyra replied, a little defensive. "I knew I could handle the situation without the need for more people."
"I understand that, Zyra," said the guild master, "but you have to understand that this mission was important and we needed to make sure it was successfully completed. Besides, the team you chose is made up of talented and experienced members, so there was no risk in taking them with you."
Zyra sighed. She knew the guild master was right, but still felt uncomfortable bringing her team on a mission she knew she could have handled alone. "Okay," she finally said, "I understand and promise to be more careful in the future."
The guild master nodded, seeming satisfied with Zyra's response. "Very well," he said. "It would be tragic if we lost the trump card of our city. You know, there are countless zombies in this world, each different from the other, and we never know what abilities to expect. Even as an A-rank, you could have been killed by this zombie."
Zyra agreed with the guild master. She knew that, even though she was strong, she was not invincible. The world was full of dangers and, no matter how hard she tried, she could never be completely prepared for everything she could face.
"I understand," she said. "And I appreciate the opportunity to work with such a talented team."
"So, how was the fight? Is he really an intelligent zombie?" the guild master asked.
Zyra sat down on the chair and began preparing the report: "It was relatively calm up to a certain point. I tried to make the fight last as long as possible to see the zombie's abilities and be able to classify it, but it proved to be stronger than I had imagined. So I decided to put an end to it. I'm not sure if it used all its abilities, but I don't classify it as an intelligent zombie. Even though it is a zombie with above-average reasoning ability, it didn't demonstrate the ability to speak or think logically. According to the information we had, it could control weaker undead around it. In our fight, there were only animals. Perhaps the outcome would have been different if there were other zombies, like some mutant zombies."
The guild master nodded and wrote down everything Zyra said: "Interesting, very interesting. But you said you had to kill it because it was stronger than you imagined, why do you say that?" asked the guild master.
In response to the guild master's question, Zyra said, "It had a very peculiar regeneration ability. It absorbed the undead around it to regenerate its limbs. Even without its head, it still stood. So it's probably not like other zombies that can be killed by destroying their head. I would say it's a very powerful zombie, but it doesn't come close to the danger posed by an intelligent zombie."
The guild master listened carefully to Zyra's explanations and made some more notes in his report. "I understand," he said. "That regeneration ability is really impressive and can make this zombie an even bigger threat than we thought. It's good that you were able to deal with it. But we need to stay alert, we never know what else might be out there. And what about the team, do you think they did well?"
Zyra thought for a moment before answering. "Yes, they were very useful in the fight against the zombie and showed themselves to be well-prepared to deal with the challenges that arose along the way. Everyone did an excellent job and contributed to the success of the mission."
"Great," said the guild master, "I'm glad to hear that. And how about you, Zyra, how do you feel after the fight?"
Zyra thought for a moment before responding. "Well, I'm a little tired, but overall I feel good. It was a good fight and I'm glad we were able to complete the mission successfully."
With that, the meeting came to an end and Zyra retired to rest and recover from the mission's exertions.
