Annie 27 (3rd day of a better life)

Annie 27 (3rd day of a better life)

Annie woke up as usual, stretching as she reluctantly rolled out of bed. The early morning light filtered through her window, casting a soft glow in her room. She quickly got ready, starting with a refreshing bath that helped shake off the last remnants of sleep. After drying off, she changed into her school uniform, carefully selecting accessories that matched her mood—today, she opted for a pair of quirky earrings shaped like tiny books.

Once dressed, Annie headed to the kitchen, where she cleaned up a bit, feeling satisfied with her small act of morning tidying. For breakfast, she enjoyed a cup of yogurt, savoring the creamy texture and the tang of the fruit at the bottom. She also packed some leftover Karjalan Paisti from last night's dinner, neatly placing it in her lunchbox. Just as she was finishing up, a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Bell, her ever-present ghostly companion, called out with an insistent tone.

Annie sighed inwardly, already feeling the day's first annoyance. "What is it now?" she thought, her mental voice tinged with irritation.

"I'm hungry!" Bell's voice echoed with a dramatic grumble, her ghostly form mimicking the sound of a rumbling stomach.

"We'll eat soon," Annie reassured her, trying to keep her patience. "So, get it together..." She finished brushing her teeth, watching her reflection in the mirror. Even in her head, she could sense Bell's impatience, which only added to her own mild irritation.

With everything in order, Annie grabbed her backpack and headed out. The jet, a sleek, futuristic vehicle that transported students to and from the academy, awaited her as usual. As she boarded, she spotted Rose, who was sitting comfortably and engrossed in something on her phone.

"Hey, girl!" Rose greeted cheerfully, looking up briefly. Annie noticed that Rose was deeply absorbed in a BL manga, her eyes darting across the screen with interest.

Curious, Annie glanced at the title and immediately recognized it. "Killing Stalking? Really?" she thought, her eyebrows knitting together in surprise. The manga had a notorious reputation for its dark and intense themes, which Annie found unsettling.

Rose's eyes widened as she noticed Annie's gaze. With a panicked look, she quickly closed the app, her face turning a deep shade of crimson. "Oh my gosh... She saw what I'm reading... This is so embarrassing!" Rose's mind raced, her cheeks burning with embarrassment.

"I can't believe she's reading Killing Stalking," Annie thought, her expression turning from surprise to mild disgust. "I absolutely hated that manga. It's so lewd!"

(For your information, I hate this manga:D this is just my opinion)

"Girl, it's just a fictional BL manga," Bell chimed in, her tone dismissive. "You're being so dramatic..."

The rest of the ride to school was filled with a tense silence. Annie was still processing her surprise and discomfort, while Rose was too embarrassed to make conversation. They both stared out of the window, lost in their thoughts as the jet smoothly glided toward the school.

As they arrived, the students began to disembark, heading to their respective classes. Annie, still feeling a bit off-kilter, made her way to her classroom. She settled into her seat, ready for the day's quiz, which focused on the topic of peer pressure.

As Annie finished answering the questions, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around, she saw Grace, her seatmate, passing her a folded note. Intrigued, Annie opened it and read the message:

"Hey, I'm Levi. Wanna be friends? I like being friends with smart people, hehehehehe >

"

A blush crept up Annie's cheeks as she read the note. It was the first time she had received such a message from a boy, and she couldn't help but feel a mix of surprise and embarrassment. She glanced around the classroom, trying to spot Levi discreetly. Their eyes met, and Levi flashed her a sweet smile, which only deepened her blush.

"Ohhhh~~ Annie has a crush," Bell teased, her voice dripping with amusement.

"Shut up..." Annie thought, trying to hide her embarrassment and compose herself.

After class, Annie headed to her locker to grab her books for the next period. She felt a tap on her shoulder, and turning around, she found Levi standing a little too close for comfort. Her heart raced, and she could feel the heat rising in her cheeks again.

"Hey, new girl..." Levi greeted with a friendly smile, his eyes twinkling with curiosity as he observed her.

"I heard you're really smart, and I'd like to get to know you better. Our class is full of immature kids, am I right?" Levi joked, his tone light but with an undercurrent of sincerity.

"Damn, this guy is giving off some major red flags..." Bell muttered, already forming an opinion of Levi.

"I guess..." Annie replied, her voice slightly shaky as she tried to steady herself.

"So, what class are you heading to?" Levi asked, falling into step beside her.

"Dark magic class. Why?" Annie responded, her curiosity piqued by his sudden interest.

Just then, Glenn and Sophie approached, their faces lit up with friendly smiles.

"Hey, Annie! I'm Sophie!" Sophie introduced herself cheerfully, her demeanor warm and welcoming.

"Hey..." Annie replied, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the attention.

Levi and Sophie exchanged looks that were anything but friendly, their eyes narrowing in mutual disdain.

"Excuse me, Sophie, but I'm afraid Annie is busy with me right now," Levi said, his tone polite but with an unmistakable edge.

"Well, I think Annie has time for Glenn and me, right?" Sophie countered, her sweet smile not reaching her eyes. The silent exchange between the two was intense, a silent battle for Annie's attention.

Annie felt herself being pulled in two directions as Levi and Sophie both gripped her arms, each trying to claim her for their own plans. After a moment of awkwardness, she decided to stick with Levi, reasoning that he had approached her first and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know her.

Despite the situation, Annie couldn't help but feel curious about the tension between Levi and Sophie. Gathering her courage, she decided to ask him directly. "Um, hey... Your relationship with Sophie doesn't seem... friendly," she ventured, choosing her words carefully.

Levi sighed, his expression shifting to one of annoyance. "Oh, you noticed? Well, she's been my rival since we were kids. We're both pretty average here, but she's always trying to prove she's smarter than me just because she's a girl. She's also mad that I'm taking her best friend away from her... Honestly, she's so annoying and noisy. Can't I get a break?"

Annie listened, her thoughts racing. She wasn't sure if she agreed with Levi's harsh assessment of Sophie. From what she had seen, Sophie might be a bit loud and childish, but she also seemed mature and responsible in class. Annie wondered if there was more to the story than Levi was letting on.

As they reached her classroom, Annie felt a mix of relief and curiosity. "See ya," she said, offering Levi a small smile as she walked away.

Levi waved back, watching her go. "Catch you later," he called, his tone light but with a hint of something deeper.

Annie entered her classroom, her mind buzzing with thoughts. Today's activity was unexpectedly whimsical: they were to create an imaginary friend.
