CHAPTER-6...........THE UNINVITED GUEST

After a week, there was no sign of Riaz. George is completely cured and now is curious to catch Riaz and end this once and for all. As he walks into the HQ, the situation was intense and Nicholas called George to his cabin. George walked in.

George : What's going on?

Nicholas : You have the details about the connections of Riaz's network right?

George : Yeah they're on the board inside the interrogation room. Why are you asking this? You know we have them right. We've been gathering them for two years.

Nicholas : No, according to the reports Riaz has his money shared with nine other members or better known as politicians and the men in power. They're the only ones left who are physical witnesses that can say the money belongs to Riaz.

George : I don't understand.

Nicholas : Let me explain. Riaz never operated the money directly. He kept the money under these 9 different men and they were under control of Riaz. So now we have no documented evidence that the money belongs to Riaz. But as of now the money belongs to these 9 different men and it makes them the order of the NETWORK.

George : You are saying we now have no evidence that Riaz is connected to the NETWORK.

Nicholas : No it's not like that we have evidence but it is useless. The only evidence we have is against Thakur, he is dead already and Riaz turned evidence against him to his dead brother.

George : How could he possibly do that?

Nicholas : George, we went against the gang to catch Riaz but Riaz is simply wiping himself out of existence.

George : Everyone claimed that they've encountered with the NETWORK, not only us.

Nicholas : Everyone encountered with NETWORK but not Riaz, we were the only ones from the beginning claiming some info about Riaz but we don't have solid evidence yet.

George : I saw him. I spoke with him, he is real.

Nicholas : George you fail to understand, he is real but we now have no one to prove that he is behind the NETWORK.

George : The 9 men?

Nicholas : That's exactly why I called you here, according to our list of these 9 men, 6 were killed.

George : What?

Nicholas : Here comes the part, all of them were shot dead and the autopsies claimed the same ammo in every body. A sniper took them all. if they're all dead Riaz walks free and there is no meaning to this operation at all.

George : C'mon everyone knows about Riaz. He's doing this.

Nicholas : Everyone knows but WSC requires a proof. It has a set of guidelines follow. Listen to me, save at least one of the three men and we will take care of the rest. They all neglected my warnings and rejected to be in the police protection. Do something before we lose everything.

George : I need a team.

Nicholas : Granted. But use the team wisely.

George divides the team into 3 parts and sends them to spy on the 3 potential targets of the KILLER who might be working for Riaz. George is keen on catching this killer as it is his first mission being in the force. Now the each team has a job to keep any eye on the target they were send to spy upon and report if they sense anything unusual. George monitors the program.

One of the targets is at a party and the other two were at their respective homes. George's team infiltrated the party and mixed with the people around there and making sure that the target is in their sight. Since it is more likely and easy for a sniper to take out a target in a place like a party, George is waiting on his bike and is ready to move if anything happens. After some time, George's team find an unusual red light moving towards the target. It's from the sniper's rifle, one of George's teammate rescues the target by making him evade an oncoming bullet. But the sniper reloads and shoots his target through George's teammate. George is informed about the situation and immediately starts travelling to the location.

Meanwhile the remaining teammates are able to locate the sniper and start to go after him, a short chase endures before the sniper was being chased by two men behind his back and one is coming towards him on a bike, The sniper hits the one on the bike and uses the bike to escape. George enters the scene at the right time and starts chasing the sniper. The sniper was wearing a mask to conceal his identity. George continues to chase the sniper through the streets of Mumbai.

The chase came to an end when an accident takes place between a car and a bus during the chase; George drifts his bike, but gets hit to the bus and falls down. The sniper too falls down as during the accident he slightly gets hit by the car which makes him lose his balance. George was unable to get up as he gets locked between the bus, bike and the road. The sniper gets up sees George and face to face, but his entire face was covered in some sort of a mask, the sniper waves his hand signalling 'bye' to George and leaves.

After a while George and the team reach HQ, George has some minor cuts and is treated. One of the team mate who was shot still lives but the target is dead. George is still thinking while Nicholas walks to him.

Nicholas : What did you do?

George : The target is dead. We were trying to catch the sniper.

Nicholas : No I know that. One your teammate is nearly killed. You caused a mayhem on the streets. An accident took place because of your aggressivenes. Luckily none of them are dead. This is your first and last warning. Be careful when you're on the streets. Leave civilians out of it.

George : Alright, I know that's why I didn't take out the gun.

Nicholas : You need to catch the killer too, as a result of the high-speed chase, he escaped and now there's an uninvited guest in this party. Situation has escalated. This time be quick enough.

George : I will be.

George implemented the same plan second time but this time he was ready on the field. In the two targets one of them went on a political trip with the minister, this leaves only one target for the killer. George planned everything accordingly, if the sniper attempts to kill the left out target then it will be a chance for George and his team to catch him. But George wonders why the sniper didn't kill him.

Around 9.00 p.m.......................................................................................................................

George and his team were checking the cctv footage of the traffic cams that were around the potential target's house and George finds a man with similar build and hair style to the sniper he encountered. George leaves and follows the man's trail based on the footage on his own which led him to a building which is under construction.

George is definitely sure that the killer might be there. George starts to climb up the building. As the building was too tall, it took George a while to find anything. But in the 37th floor of the building, George finds the sniper who is ready with his gun to take out his target. George immediately yells "Stop right there! Drop your weapon immediately!" by pointing his gun towards the sniper. The sniper drops his rifle and says "I expected you would come". The sniper jumps from the building, George then realizes that the sniper has a rope tied to his waist and the other end to where he was standing before and he was ready with his escape plan. George informs his teammates to circle the building and George jumps out of the building by holding the rope in his hand, all of this takes place in seconds, At a point during the fall, the rope becomes taut and the killer is projected to the nearest floor and George was projected too as he held the rope during his free fall.

The sniper was amazed and a short fight takes place between George and the sniper, George who was eager to remove the sniper mask got overpowered by the sniper who hits George. George falls back and the sniper escapes using the stairs. George immediately gets up and follows the sniper who this time has bought his own bike and starts his escape. Meanwhile while George got down and sees the sniper escaping on the bike, George's teammate arrives at the scene with George's bike and George starts to follow the sniper on his bike. This time George was quick enough.

At a bridge connecting the road between two hills, George hits the sniper with his bike and both of them fall from their respective bikes. The sniper's mask is removed in this process and George gets a hold of it and takes out his gun. The sniper gets up, George was eager to see his face. The sniper pulls back his hair and sees George.

They were just 5m apart. George's pupil dilates as he saw the sniper. Both George and the sniper look alike. The sniper looks exactly like George. George was perplexed. He pulls down the gun while the sniper was not surprised at all which made sure that he knew someone who looks exactly like him was in existence.

Meanwhile the air support arrives through the helicopter and shoots the sniper with a tranquilizer as George was not responding on his comms and the sniper was trying to escape. The sniper fell to the road and George orders Nicholas to evacuate the HQ as he is bringing the killer and says it should be confidential which Nicholas does so. Only George and his teammates see the sniper who was unconscious and were shocked to find out how he looks like. They transport him to the HQ via road.
