4.11 The Upright Page of Charisma

“I’m sitting right here, you know, we all destroyed many ghouls and zombies over there. It’s not like I’m the one that raised him from the dead. At least he gets to go out for a walk every now and again.”

Aubrey could see this conversation wasn’t going anywhere and shook her head disappointedly. She sighs, putting the card back in position, knowing how stubborn Clint could be.

Aubrey examines the next card in a clockwise rotation.

The card depicts a tiger and a female warrior bow slung over her shoulder brandishing a shining weapon. They are both standing together like companions before a curious ornate door embedded within a tree of a strange forest cloaked in mist. That portal is opening to a bright light to something that can't be seen.

"Stirring to the South in the 4th position, what are the similarities and differences between the answer to Question 2 and the answer to Question 3? The Upright Page of Charisma."

Clint takes one look at the card was getting flashbacks to the Cloakwood. Some of which he was healthily repressing from memory. At least, he wasn't giving himself time to think about it. It was a strange place. I mean who would believe half the stuff that went on in there. Floating shit, leprechauns, portals to different dimensions or planes, talking to Selûne herself, not to mention running for his life from hungry blood-sucking abominations. It was crazy just thinking about it. Though as he looked at the picture he sees the woman with the bow and shining sword Clint wasn't the only one there so was Vaynel. He said he saw Selûne too. So maybe he wasn't just seeing things. Maybe the world like he guessed was just that crazy. Or he could be stuck in an illusion right now...

"...Clint, Clint hey Clint." Aubrey pinched him.

"Ow, what was that for?"

"You were quieter than usual and you started spacing out doing that thousand-yard stare thing."

What would Aubrey think if Clint told her that he and Vanyel met Selûne and... the other minor details.

Aubrey looked like she was going to pinch him again.

"Hey, whoa I get it. This isn't about the horse is it?"

Aubrey didn't look happy.

"What were the questions again?" Clint changed the subject.

Aubrey closes her eyes in that thing she does when she prays. She opens her eyes and smiles.

"The fourth position is also known as the advice position. You've seen the past, the present, and some insight into the future. Sometimes the Page is a prince, but in this case may be a princess. This Princess of Charisma inspires devotion in others such as the tiger into action sparking that sense of adventure. It's a time for experimentation with practical caution."

This was all hitting close to home for Clint. He wasn't sure what to make of it. If he should just go with the flow or jump in head first like he always did. He guessed the cards were telling him neither, right? Find his own way? Take more calculated risks instead?
