The forest buzzed and crackled alive with branches being pushed aside the strangest sound of leathery bat-like wings beating against the air was coming closer.
Vanyel struck a pose inhaling a sharp breath to steady his longbow and could see something within the treeline he let loose an arrow.
The arrow struck something in the darkness that Clint couldn't see and it fell with a crash. What was alarming was the swiftness that a few shadowy shapes dove in after it and a struggle could be heard thrashing in the bushes. Then as quickly as the struggle started it stopped. The beating of leather again began.
