A strange Pokemon threatens a town with disaster. You battle it, only for it to escape.

This repeats once or twice.

Finally, the Pokemon reveals that they are an Absol, and asks you to prevent the disaster that is beyond their ability to stop alone. The solution makes no sense, maybe even is immoral. If you take them up on it, crisis narrowly averted and they join the party. If you don't, a disaster happens, and at some point the Absol shows up with more Absols to attack you because you've demonstrated that you will only create more disaster wherever you go. It's a very hard fight.

If they do join, they occasionally interject with horn related prognostication. If you listen and obey their council, the Absol grows closer to you. You can gently woo them, which they freak out about but refuse to discuss. Eventually, they reveal that their horn screams disaster every time that they consider romance.

It turns out to just be anxiety, which you can soothe by holding them and giving very gentle kisses until they melt.
