You meet a Bidoof outside a flaming fist recruitment post, her dreams of serving as a protector of the city destroyed because she was deemed too weak.

You can offer her a place in your party, telling her that she is not too weak to make a difference.

Distraught, she declines, saying she’ll simply be a dead weight and hold you back.

At this point, you have a choice. If you go on your way, the next time you encounter her will be during the aftermath of a raid on a group of traveling refugees, where she has been slain in a fruitless attempt to protect them.

If you push and continue to comfort her, she joins you and grows.

If she trains together with the rest of the party, you gain a powerful ally against the BBEG.

If you choose the romance path and train with her individually, you grow closer, and she reveals her motivation for her dream. Together, you develop a new fighting style just for her, built around her unique ability to boost some aspect of her fighting every few times an opponent misses her.

Eventually, right before you prepare to take on the BBEG, she asks you to train with her again. You drop into a fighting stance, but are suddenly blinded when she evolves. She tackles you to the ground and glomps you, declaring that you’re the most important person in her life, before asking if you’d like to partake in a different kind of training.
