“Miss Yuzu, wake up.” An adorable voice rang throughout the room.
I yawned as I pretended to wake up slowly, “five more minutes.” After saying that, I went back to sleep.
At the corner of my eyes, I could see an adorable pout with a cute face trying so hard to keep me awake. Kara was shaking my shoulders as she tried to prevent me from sleeping.
“Please… I’m tired of studying. I don't want to go to college...” I yawned loudly after I said that and grabbed the blanket tightly. Perhaps because so many things happened yesterday, I was half asleep despite sleeping for quite some time. The only desire I could think of was having sleep.
Just as I was getting ready to go back to sleep, a ray of light pierced through the window, illuminating the whole room. The light forced me to open my eyes as I saw a sweet petite figure smiling at my hesitant gesture to wake up. Traces of her opening the curtain window could be seen.
“Good morning, Miss Yuzu,” Kara said with a smile. With an awkward smile, I replied with a simple good morning.
I prepared myself for the day as I changed from my cat hooded pajamas to my usual outfit. Kara explained to me while I was changing clothes that she would help the others to prepare breakfast. I complimented her enthusiasm as she left the room while humming cheerfully.
Not knowing what to do, I left the bedroom and went outside to find some fresh morning sunlight. A piercing light flew through the sky as I took a deep breath. I looked around to absorb the glamorous scenery in front of me. I found myself deep in the forest with various trees and fauna around me, a perfect environment for elves to live, at least according to the novels I’ve read.
A familiar mouse girl waved her hand towards my direction as I waved back at her. Kara seemed preoccupied with cooking breakfast. Apparently, they were cooking out in the open backyard kitchen. The other mouse girls also helped around the open air kitchen with gathering ingredients or chopping some vegetables. I briefly saw Grey preparing fire for the stove.
Not wanting to bother anyone, I walked around the opposite direction of the kitchen. The scenic forest calmed my mind down as I walked cheerfully. I shortly glanced back to see a few humble sheds of where I was sleeping. Being one with nature, is this how an elf typically lives? I thought.
Just as I was thinking that, I could see Remmy appearing from the forest with a fluffy friend. I waved my hand at her with a smile as a greeting. She replied back with an attractive smile. Her pointy ears twitched adorably.
“Good morning, were you out hunting?” I asked. I could see her hairy friend walking while biting three dead rabbits while Remmy herself was holding some herbs while wearing a bow and quiver on her back.
Remmy responded, “yes, this one has a big appetite. So we usually went out early in the morning before he went hungry.” She grabbed her fluffy friend with a smile.
An elf and a blue tiger. It was a combination that I wouldn’t be able to see back in my world. Just before they walked towards her house, I stopped her. She tilted her head with a puzzled expression while I explained.
“Um, could you let the mouse girls alone to cook for today’s breakfast? I want Kara to be closer with her new followers,” I asked. It might be selfish of me to want Kara to be close with her captors, but I thought it would be best for her to use everything she had at this moment. If she chose the road to be a queen, it would be wise for her to understand and speak to the people she would be commanding.
Remmy responded with a simple, “I understand, I’ll just put this in the warehouse for now.”
I followed Remmy to the warehouse. I offered to help her carry the herbs and dead rabbit she and the tiger was carrying, but she refused profusely. I felt a bit sad at her refusal, nevertheless I wouldn’t want to force her.
As we arrived inside the warehouse, Remmy picked the deceased rabbit from the tiger’s mouth and put them in a box full of freezing ice and other dead animals. Remmy spoke into a language that I couldn’t understand to the tiger. Moments later, the tiger nodded and opened his mouth towards the box.
A chilling sensation arose from the tiger’s mouth. The lifeless rabbits Remmy put on the box were freezing as ice formed around its deceased body, caging them to a box of ice. Presumably, it was to stop the food from going bad, just like a fridge.
“Well, now that that's done, I will go back to the forest to train.” Remmy nudged her bow and prepared to leave.
“Can I come with you?” I asked.
Remmy looked hesitant. Nevertheless, she agreed and led me towards the deeper part of the forest. I could see a line of leaves almost like a rope following our path with exquisite decoration and fruit on it. Just as I was wondering what it was, Remmy explained to me that the line of leaves was connected to her house. Apparently, that was a tool that could be used to signal something, a some sort of communication device.
“After Grey and others were done with cooking, they should be able to signal it with the line of leaves instead of coming to get us,” Remmy explained.
“Hm… I see, so that’s how elves communicate?” I asked. Without the convenience of a phone, I couldn’t imagine living deep in the forest with that kind of tools to communicate.
Remmy shook her head, ‘Usually, a young elf would form a bond with an owl they found and nurture. They would use these owls to send messages to each other. However, There was never a single owl that would come near me.”
Perhaps it was shame, or even anger, but Remmy developed a complicated expression. Sensing that, the blue tiger besides Remmy gave out his paws to comfort her. That cheered her up a little bit.

“It might be a bit too late to ask, but what’s his name?” I asked.
Once again, Remmy shook her head, “I don’t know.”
I was bewildered at Remmy’s answer. I inferred that she didn’t give him a name, but why did she say that she didn’t know, instead of her answering with he didn’t have a name? Confused, I asked her for a clarification.
Remmy explained, “I already tried to give him a name before, but he would always act aggressive everytime I tried to do that. Therefore, it’s possible that he already had a name before I met him, but I don’t know what that name could be.”
“I see…” I muttered.
After a few more minutes of walking, we arrived at the training ground Remmy wanted to go. She took a deep breath and took out her bow alongside an arrow. She instructed her fluffy partner to rest and take shelter from the sun on a tree shade. The blue tiger nodded as he walked towards the closest tree shades and sat down. I followed him and also rested my legs on a more comfortable sitting position.
Remmy aimed at a tree branch and a barrage of arrows flew. She drew the arrow from her quiver at such speed that I was barely able to follow. After a while, she stopped and took a deep breath. She would then search for a tiny pebble, around twenty of them or so and threw them away.
With incredible speed, Remmy was able to shoot and break the pebble into tiny pieces before they could even hit the ground. Strangely, none of the arrows she used to break the pebbles were damaged in any way. Every arrow she used was still in pristine condition as she picked them back.
After doing some archery exercise, she mixed up her training with some magic spells. She was able to combine her arrows with a magic spell and create a lightning arrow that pierced faster than her usual arrows.
Remmmy continued with her routine for a while. I was sitting under the shades while occasionally patting the blue tiger beside me. I was scared at first, but his gentle expression and cuteness was able to convince me to keep on patting him.
I stared at the calming scenery for a while, and sat with a rather bored expression. Might as well take this time for a picnic, I thought. I summoned a picnic blanket and covered the grass where I was sitting. The picnic blanket was big enough for me and the blue tiger.
I imagined a chocolate cake with sweet tea, and it appeared in front of me. I also didn’t forget to summon sausages for my new fluffy friend. The blue tiger raised his eyebrows as he was confused at first on where the sausages appeared, but didn’t stress it any further and happily chewed.
“This is bliss…” I happily explained as I munched a whole bunch of chocolate cake into my stomach while watching the scenic nature.
During my time on earth, I wasn’t able to eat as much chocolate as I wanted. My classmate, Rikka, would nag me every time I ate chocolate chips a bit more than usual. She said it would be bad for my health, or that I would gain weight. However, now that I have Sekai-chan’s power, I could always eat anything I want to without risking my health, I thought.
“Ugh…” I muttered. Even though I wouldn’t suffer any unhealthy consequences from eating chocolate, perhaps eating three chocolate cakes was a terrible idea. As much as I enjoyed the taste of it, I should’ve stopped before making more cakes. I drank the tea I created to wash away any feeling of thirstiness.
I switched from chocolate cakes to chocolate candy still wrapped in golden foil, giving it a premium look.I had fun opening the chocolate from the golden foil. It was easier to eat, and I don’t feel like I could stop. This was a better alternative, I thought. I kept munching candy after candy, while watching Remmy practice her archery skill.
A little while later, Remmy stopped shooting from her bow. She took a deep breath and gathered her used arrows into her quiver. Even though she used her arrows numerous times during her practice, they don’t seem to get damaged in any way, just a little bit dirtier. Remmy looked at the blue tiger and me chilling on the picnic blanket and smiled.
Perhaps it was after twenty, or even thirty chocolates, something within me snapped. I looked beside me to see the blue tiger sleeping like a kitten. He completely devoured his share of sausages until there was nothing left. I then see Remmy coming towards us.
Sensing something was wrong with me, Remmy hurried her way towards the picnic blanket. My vision grew blurry, while my mind was cloudy. I tried to stand up, but failed spectacularly as I fell down on my knees.
“Unfair…” I looked at Remmy with envious eyes while she looked at me rather concerningly. I could see her springy breasts bouncing around while she was running. As she arrived, I immediately stood up with full energy.
Remmy asked, “Miss Goddess, are you okay?!”
“This is so unfair!” I yelled, while pushing Remmy onto the picnic blanket. We both fell down while I was on top of her. I could feel my temperature was rising, but I couldn’t care less.
Remmy’s face grew afraid, however her expression of worry overpowered her afraidness. Her pointy ears twitched as she awkwardly grew red on her cheeks. As the ears fluttered a bit more, I bit her ears with my lips softly.
“Eek!” An adorable shriek could be heard from Remmy as it awoke the blue tiger up. However, after seeing both of us and his surroundings, he went back to sleep. It was apparent that Remmy was troubled and was trying to get away from this situation.
“It’s unfair, how are you so cute?!” I screamed.
It took Remmy a bit of tries, but she finally managed to get away from me. “Don’t tell me… Miss Goddess, are you drunk?”
“Like I said! Just call me Yuzu!” I demanded her with a pout and acted upset.
I looked around to see a bunch of empty wrapping foil I threw out as trash. The word alcohol was written on the wrappings. It seemed like the chocolate candy I summoned contained alcohol in them. Realizing this, I thought of sobering up with my power, but it was too late.
“No, forget about calling me Yuzu, could you call me mama instead?!” I asked.
Remmy grew even more confused. Each word that came out of my mouth grew increasingly absurd. Even then, Remmy’s earnest nature took it seriously. “May I ask why?” Remmy asked.
“Because think of the moe gap! Over eight hundred year old elf calling me mama… hehe- It sounds so cute!” I explained while giggling uncomfortably.
In my head, it would be adorable to see Remmy calling me mama even though her figure could very well be described as motherly. Her elegant figure was able to exude an aura of nurture and patience. Remmy’s age could even support the notion of her being a mother.
At first I thought Remmy would just ignore my blabbering nonsense, but she seemed to be taking it seriously. She seemed confused at the term gap moe. But even then, she complied, “O-okay, mama.”
My heart bursted with emotion. I didn’t expect her to actually do it, so I was attacked by sudden elation. However, that moment of happiness was cut short by dizziness on my head. An urge to throw up suddenly rushed into my brain. The sensation reminded me of the time I ate too much instant noodles without a break, and struck me with nausea.
I ran away from the opposite direction from Remmy, and vomited on the grass. That instance of me throwing up somehow sobered me up instantly. While I was regretting my life choice of eating too many chocolates, Remmy came towards me with a worried expression.
“Mama, are you okay?” Remmy asked.
Now, with a sobered mind, I grew embarrassed of her words. “Um, you don’t have to call me mama, you know,” I said.
Remmy shook her head to my sentence and said, “Miss Goddess Lily saved me and nurtured me during the great demon war. I used to call her mother all the time as she was practically a mother to me during childhood. As the Goddess of Life, the one created us all, it was natural for her to be everyone’s mother. And because of the relationship between Life and Death, therefore…”
Remmy took a deep breath before continuing. The atmosphere felt empty as the deafening silence continued. She stared at me with a serious conviction.
“You’re also my mother, mama.”
