Chapter seven

I went outside and started to practice my electricity element. I had tried to cast a bolt for at least two hours but I didn't seem to be getting anywhere, “Why can't I do this!” I yelled in frustration. I began to force mana into my hand and it started to become unstable, my hand started to cramp up and I released it.

I shoved my hand out and shot a giant bolt of electricity, I watched it move through the air making a crackling sound, mesmerized that I had finally achieved my goal. “YES!” I shouted, Jekyll came outside and said “Good job, I didn't see it but I heard it from inside.”

“It was huge. I didn't know I could even make a bolt that big.” “ That's nice, try and do it again, I want to see you do it.” I started to do the same thing I had before, as I reached the point I was before my hand didn't cramp up like last time so I built it up more, right as my hand began to cramp I released it, this time making an even bigger bolt. “Woah, that's amazing gust, I don't know how you did it, but that would rival a lot of people's skills.”

I began to power up again. I did the same thing as before, pushing myself to the edge but it didn't change in power. “Let's go inside.” Jekyll said

I sat down inside the cave and looked over at Jekyll and said “What's up” “there's something I want to do.” “What is it?”,”I was thinking we should continue to move through the mountain. There is a village a few miles away from where we're at. It would be best if you were able to go to one to buy supplies for yourself and also you could buy a sword.” “How could I pay for any of that, I don't have money.”

“You could work as a guard or anything like that.” “Yeah that sounds like a good idea.”,”Well we better get a move on if we want to make it there before dark.” I stood up and followed Jekyll as we began walking to the village.

We walked for hours up and down the sides of cliffs and mountains, as we got to the top of one I looked down and saw a small village. “Once we get close I will stay back. You go into town and ask around to see if anyone needs help.”,”Ok.”

Once we got to the bottom of the hill Jekyll stayed back waiting for me to return. As I entered the town I saw a place with a sign outside that said.”Dusty’s Bar” “That would be the best place for me to talk to some people.”

I walked up and stepped inside, I looked around and saw a few rough looking faces, most too drunk to even notice my wild looking attire. I walked up to the bartender and said “I’m fresh into town and I was wondering if you had heard of anyone saying anything about needing a mage.”

The bartender stood there for a second and said,”There's a person who came in here yesterday and said if they could get someone to find out who stole their dogs they would pay them fifty coins and if they brought back both of their dogs they would pay one hundred.”, “Where could I find this person at?” I asked “If you go outside and make a left you'll pass three houses, his is the fourth one down on the left.”,”Thanks.” I said and walked out, I followed the directions of the bartender, I found the house and walked up and knocked on the door.

I stood there for a few seconds then the door opened “What do you want.” an older man said, looking at me with a little bit of anger,”I heard that your dogs were stolen, and you were going to pay whoever found me.”,”It's a hundred coins if you find them, I'm not sure where they went.”,”I will start looking for them first thing tomorrow morning.” I turned around and headed back to meet up with Jekyll

Once returning I found Jekyll in the same spot as before. “Did you find anything out ?” ,”Yeah I'm going to go and try and track down a person's dogs tomorrow, he's paying a hundred coins.”

“That's good, I found us a place to stay for the night. Follow me.” I began to follow Jekyll, it wasn't very far from the village, the place he had found was a small shack in the woods, the roof was half way collapsed but it would do for the night.

I didn't have much to say, I laid down in the corner and immediately went to sleep.
