The elevator door suddenly dings and Reyn gets onto the elevator as does everyone else. The elevator begins to descend quietly as no one speaks a word at the heavy silence. The moment, the elevator door opens, Reyn scurries out the door.
Reyn had taken a few steps across the lobby, when Sūn Lì loudly calls out to her from behind. “A moment of your time, Miss Mephistopheles, if you please?” Sūn Lì said.
Reyn frowns, but schools her features into a polite smile and turn to face Sūn Lì. “Yes, how can I be of service?” Reyn politely asked, while keeping the annoyance out of her voice.
“Miss Mephistopheles, I wonder if you can recall a certain night in which you stopped before an alleyway after a work party?” Sūn Lì pointedly asked causing for there to be raising surprised expressions from the men behind him and a look of worry to appear on Chief Chén’s face.
“Why, yes, I recall that night in question. Is there a reason why?” Reyn innocently asked back.
“A friend of mine was hurt in the nearby vicinity, but I haven’t heard from him since. I’m rather worried you see as I’ve sent my men to look for him all over the city, but they haven’t found a single trace of him. I was rather hoping that you, Miss Mephistopheles might have some information on my friends’ whereabouts. On that night in question, Miss Mephistopheles, you wouldn’t have seen anyone in the alleyway that night by any chance, Miss Mephistopheles?” Sūn Lì further probed trying to gauge the truth.
“That night I thought I heard something, but upon not hearing anything more, I went on my way,” Reyn paused dramatically as Sūn Lì holds his breath in anticipation. “But I did find an abandoned, hurt kitten in an alleyway and being filled with pity for the poor thing, I took the kitten home and have been caring for the kitten ever since,” Reyn truthfully stated.
Sūn Lì eyes narrow as studies the western woman for any sign of lies but fails to find anything amiss. After a moment, Sūn Lì carefully says, “Well, if Miss Mephistopheles needs anything in the future please don’t hesitate to contact me.”
Reyn smiles politely in reply, before turning on her heels and rapidly making her way across the lobby. Frowning Reyn emerges out into the sunlight and hastily makes her way to the front park benches where the gang is impatiently waiting for her. Though she lied perfectly and didn’t give anything away, that may not be to convince Sūn Lì. No, a man like that would start to dig further into her within the next few minutes. But no worries, after all there was someone at home to fool intruders.

With a smirk on her face, Reyn texts a single message to Ye Ming’s shadow clone. “Here, kitty, kitty.” Putting her phone away, Reyn crosses the street to where the three men impatiently wait. The moment, Reyn crosses the street, Zhào growls, “What took you so long?”
Reyn drily replies, “Let just say, I don’t envy upper management especially Chief Chén’s position.”
Yáng raises an eyebrow at Reyn’s reply as Huáng says, “Sounds like you’re having a bad day. Well, let’s just and go eat to make it all better.” Reyn smiles at the kind answer and quickly follows them to a nearby restaurant to eat.

Sūn Lì watches the western woman go as he follows Chief Chén into a waiting car in front of the building. Sūn Lì narrows his eyes as that woman’s reply continues to ring in his ears, “I found an abandoned, hurt kitten.” Was that code for that she did find someone?
Frowning, Sūn Lì quickly texts, “Look into guardian records for that woman. Go in person to check just in case electronic records have been tampered with.” Putting his phone away, Sūn Lì smiles and proceeds to make small chat.
A scarred man checks his text message to see the order and immediately sets off towards the records office. However, not before asking their inside man to check the electronic version for him. The inside man with anxious heart carefully does as he is told and with relief finds nothing. The inside man swiftly sends a message to the scarred man just as he arrives outside of the public government offices. “Zero Records of household addition or request of guardianship with zero trace of tampering,” The inside man promptly stated.
The scarred man glances at his phone with a slight frown as he reads the message. Letting out a grunt the scarred man makes his way into the building. Without even being stopped the guards allow him into the government building as the scarred man makes his way into the records section. Stomping his way towards the records office, the scarred man slams open the door to find no one inside. Narrowing his eyes, the scarred man makes his way to the folder’s and glances through them by alphabet. After checking the entire stack of neatly alphabetized names the scarred man texts his boss, Sūn Lì, before departing out of the office.
While chatting at the Phoenix restaurant, a message swiftly arrives into Sūn Lì’s hands as he quickly checks the message, “Sir, electronically and physically there is no registered paperwork for the household registration requesting guardianship.”
Sūn Lì hides his frown as he texts back, “Check the woman’s apartment for verification purposes.” Though he would have liked to send his men to personally check the woman’s apartment it would be much to conspicuous given her nationality and single status.
“Understood, sir,” the scarred leader replied, before sending those same orders to his men. However, the scarred man kept his inner thoughts to himself. There was just something that felt off about this entire situation, but he didn’t know what. However, no matter what, he would get to the bottom of this strange mystery. And with that solemn vow the scarred man headed out for a personal visit to that woman’s apartment.
However, the scarred man failed to notice the hidden figure carefully following him to said apartment. It was as though the invisible figure had some questions of their own. But more importantly was playing its own scheme.
