A moment passes as you shake your head, [Grendel’s Arm] melts out of existence and its presence is replaced by [Curtana]

The weapon hums in your grasp with a barely contained excitement… you wanna say its excitement, or maybe it's reassurance? You don’t think it's happy being used to… subdue?

Eh subdue works.

You don’t think it's happy to be used to subdue so many people, but it presses on regardless.

You slip from cover, pistol rounds pinging off [Babr-e Bayan]’s hexagons with the occasional spark as you breathe out.

[Curtana] comes to bear.

The trigger is held down as the banshee’s song screams forward.

The recoil is heavier than usual, you held the trigger down a little more than usual you think.

It makes you take a few steps back to dissipate the force as a larger than normal shockwave screams ruin ahead of you.

It slams into the four groups at once.

The blast easily lifting them off their feet as their screams are drowned out by the nightmarish sound…

You really need to invest in hearing protection.

The dust kicked up from the floor and shattered crates floats down, and you hear the pained groans and moans of all disabled men.

A nod makes all the exhaustion of fighting so hard hit you, trying to make sure all your blows were non-lethal probably didn’t help either.

You lean against a crate, catching your breath as you plan your next move.

You guess that you’ve taken out a fair chunk of people so far.

A glance behind revealing even more downed bodies.

Yeah, definitely a lot of people.

An idle thought tells you that you get something more precise next time… maybe a stun rifle or so…

Though… if you can slow down time mid battle, you can probably knock out a bunch of people easier… maybe pair the slow with flashbangs?

Hmm. Something to consider later.

Note to self, rob a grenade store.

Though… you don’t know how this’ll look to anyone observing… you’re not really killing these people or being particularly villainous…

That thought gets shoved to the side when you consider that you’ve probably made most of these people deaf for life, and taken the arms of at least two people…

You force the more long term consequences of that to the side. For now, you guess that’s suitably villainous. You’re not here to kill, but to strengthen the other magicals.

You push yourself back into a stance as you feel good enough to continue after a moment or two.

And then you stop as an important thought hits you…

You’re a Magical girl…

But you don’t have a name do you?

Huh…

You rush forwards through the maze of crates while you pay attention to your surroundings. The thought of a name being considered as you do so.

You punch a guy in the face, knee another in the stomach, and then punch one in the crotch.

You ignore the squishing sound that makes you cringe.

You only know two magical girls so far… Argent Red, and Azure… Does she call herself Azure Blue or something?

Hmm..

You duck a kick sent at you, grabbing the leg and then slamming an elbow into the knee.

It cracks and the man screams in pain before your fist shuts him up.

If the trend continues… it’s a word and then a colour… You’re a Null, so maybe use Black or Grey as the color bit?

Villains usually wear black’s or gray in most cases…

You look down at the six or so guys who’re writhing on the ground at your feet.

It kinda feels good to be this powerful…

You shake your head and dispel the thought. You shouldn’t compare yourself to normal people-

Something screams to your danger sense, a flash of silver appearing in your precognition a split moment before you turn.

It’s only just, but you manage to catch the large bladed sword with [Grendel’s Arm], deflecting it to the side and using the force to launch yourself backwards.

You skid on your feet, surrounded by crates as a man larger than the rest approaches. A large greatsword in hand. A large and intricate one. Perfectly shined and covered in runes.

Some runes light up its surface as the blade freezes over.

You raise an eyebrow.

Do ice users have a grudge against you or something?

The man lunges forward, swinging the sword in an arc once he's about half the distance from you.

The runes glow, and an arc of ice launches forwards.

You twist to the side, letting the sword wave freeze the ground and the crate behind you.

If the others were grunts… maybe this guys a miniboss?

God you need to stop using Alice’s language for enemies… even if it fits surprisingly well.

…And comes to you naturally.

Huh… maybe past/future you was a gamer?

“DEMON!”

Oh joy, he’s shouting at you.

“I am Mushashi! I wish to know the name of the one who faces my blade!”

He brings the greatsword to rest on the ground, point embedding into the concrete below.

You hear one of the grunts groan, something about “not again.”

Eh, you kick him in the face. Honor is important for a villain!

Though you can’t talk…

And you have a girl to save…

Hmmm…

You point to your throat and shake your head.

The man barely moves.

“You cannot speak? Fitting for a demon I suppose. Still, you shall face me! Our duel shall be legendary!”

An idle thought tells you that you’re probably faster than this guy… and there's a pair of crates you can slip under if you didn’t want to fight him… should delay him for a little while at least…

Then again…

Pride and honor…

[x] Honor the man’s challenge. A villain should return respect received, and he’s definitely giving you some respect now… the path of bodies in your wake probably has something to do with it. He seems important to the grunts… a hard but worthwhile fight perhaps. (Story Action) (Defeating him causes all remaining groups to flee)

[x] You don’t have time for this. Got a girl to save, some goon to probably knock out, and a bunch of other enemies to deal with. They’ll probably be easier to beat then this guy by a longshot (Story Action) (-1 Chrono Charge (Will be used passively to avoid a Major Wound,

Pierced Shoulder, See Codex)) (-1d3 groups defeated)
