The golden bolt flies forward with a loud, almost mechanical sounding crack. Much louder than a rifle the size of Scout's should be able to make.
You rush forward, dodging to the side as you do so, more diagonal then horizontal, the round skims off the tip of [Babr-e Bayan]'s pauldron, the hexagonal barriers pushing it just far enough that it there's a momentary burst of sparks before the projectile is gone.
The force spins you around slightly, but you move with it, twirling past the slashes of the first Mesmer.
The second catches you in the side, six clawed hand digging into your thigh and slicing deep. It doesn't hit anything fatal you don't think, the hexagons from [Babr-e Bayan] diverting the cut off to the side and letting it slice through rather than stopping it entirely.
But you don't focus on that, slamming a foot into the metal knee of the Mesmer and using it like a foothold to spring up into the air.
With a call of will, inky shadows melt into [Cutana]'s form, the sonic shotgun/cannon thing humming almost happily in your grasp as you aim and fire.
It has a bit of recoil to it. Launching you back a little, but nowhere near as hard as [Gae Bolg] would have.
The sound on the other hand…
It's like what you imagine an angel's song is… if they doubled it a hundred times over and then mixed it with the scream of banshee. Also doubled.
A screech that makes your vision shiver as a visible pulse of something explodes forwards. The blast almost seems to pick up speed as it travels. And then stops all of a sudden as it reaches the Scouts.
A shockwave explodes forwards from it, sending them off their feet as they clutch their heads. Struggling to stand up on hands that cannot find the floor and feet that slip and fall.
You roll along the floor, dismissing [Curtana] and summoning back [Grendel's Arm] as you lunge towards the Mesmers. They recover from holding their heads. Maybe the back blast stunned them for a moment or something?
