Zadia The Crimson Hero?
Chapter 7: The Gameplan

Chapter 7: The Gameplan

“Wait, what problem? What do you mean?” Zadia became worried about what Earth had said. He had always held an aurora of mystery, and that caused her to feel nervous.

“Hmm… I guess I could tell you, it’s about the army of dragons coming to kill you.” Earth mentions it in the most natural voice. Zadia had expected to be shocked by his words, but not to this extent. She had a very dumbfounded face as Earth casually tells her that dragons are coming to kill her.

“W-wait, why? What did I do to get dragons to hate me?” Zadia panics as she thinks about what she could have done to have cause this calamity. Then it hit her it wasn’t by her actions, but his. Earth must have done something, or have been involved in this in some way.

“You! Why are you trying to do? Sending dragons after me!” Zadia screams in anger as she glares at Earth.

“Well, it wasn’t my fault… directly. Let me explain.” Earth tries to calm down Zadia by petting her head. Zadia only grew angrier as Earth uncaring continues, till he felt satisfied.

“So… who is sending them? And why?” Zadia calms down as she fires out her questions. Earth on the other hand remained unfazed as he answered her with a calm smile.

“Well, remember when I told you us “gods” use reincarnations to move our worlds the way we want?” Earth reminds her of the conversation eight years prior. Zadia thinks for a long moment before remembering.

“I thought you said each god has their own world.” Zadia thinks back, but remembers Earth not telling her much about anything other than be a hero.

“Well…this world is being contested. The winner of this contest gets to rule over this world.” Earth says this with a plain smile. He shows no real emotion. Zadia couldn’t tell whether he was being serious or joking, since he talks this way every time they meet.

“So...the dragon leading that army is a reincarnation, in other words. A hero of another god?” Zadia says with a face full of worry and excitement, wondering if she was strong enough to kill a dragon. Earth on the other hand was calm as usual showing an expressionless smile.

“Well… the problem is… the way you are right now. You will be brutally murder by the dragon hero. He’s at least three times stronger than you.” Earths calm voice broke through Zadias thoughts, bringing her back to reality.

“W-what? Then how do I get stronger!? Tell me we’re partners aren’t we?” Zadia pleads with determination to survive. Earth lets out a small sigh.

“Of course I’ll help you. Do you think I’ll let my pawn die so quickly? This is only just the beginning.” Earth lectures Zadia with the same usual calm tone.

“P-pawn?” Zadia mutters to herself as she quiets down to listen to Earths instruction.

“You heard rumors of ancient places containing powerful artifacts that no one has been able to get correct?” Earth points out a fact Zadia had forgotten about. Zadia remembers Earth telling her to learn more about this world, and because of that she had studied. She had learn of an ancient tomb nearby Rowien during her studies, it had said to have vanish centuries ago. Many had searched for it and found nothing. It was a tomb to a female warrior that was rumored to have been the strongest of her time. She was one of the first to kill a dragon.

“Yes, there’s supposedly only one near Rowien.” Zadia says in frustration as she doubts in the existence of the tomb. There have been a number of expeditions in the past to search for the tomb but all have ended in failure.

“Well, the reason these places remained undiscovered is because of me.” Earth claims with a smile, as Zadias eyes widen in surprise.

“You?” Zadia says in amazement as Earth continues on.

“Well, of course I would make preparations. I am pretty much on bad terms with all the gods in this contest, so this much should be expected.” Earth stated as Zadia took it in she thought to herself. She now knows that every hero chosen by the other gods would most likely target her, and it was all because of this one person. She knew Earth treated it as a game, but even knowing this Zadia thought there’s no way he would lose.

“So, you are going to show me where it is?” Zadia zones in on Earth, ready for anything.

“Yes, you would know when you wake up. I will implant it into your memory.” Earth declares as he emits a small light from his right hand. It explodes outward and blinds Zadia for a brief moment.

“So now I will know where it is?” Zadia inquires as Earth nods in confirmation.

“Yes.” Earth says with a smile as he waits for Zadia to ask her questions. He had a feeling she would have many questions, so he remained silent.

“So, my real goal as a hero… is to kill other heroes?” Zadia glances as Earth as she spoke in a serious tone.

“Hmm… well you know it’s easier than trying to become their friends. They would most likely stab you, if they found out you’re a hero.” Earth says something that made Zadio curious.

“Wait, so how did they find out where I am?” Zadia asks with suspicion in her voice.

“I been masking your soul within the city, so you wouldn't be discovered but one of the other gods picked up your soul when you were out of the capital. The souls of heroes, shine brighter than normal ones, but that doesn't make you stronger than normal people, it just means you have the qualities of a hero.” Earth reminded Zadia she was still pretty weak. She wasn't stronger than Julianne, which made her wonder why she was made a hero. Earth ignoring her saddened spirit return to the conversation of the tomb.

“In that tomb you will find a ring that will amplify your power by five times your normal amount. The reason for it, is because it contains the soul of the one entomb there within it.” Earth lets out a fake smile. Zadia hearing this, has gotten more excited.

“Still, just because you are to wear this ring does not make you the strongest, even if you become stronger than their hero. He still has an army of a hundred dragons. You can’t win alone.” Earth gives her a reality check.

“So how am I supposed to win?” Zadia asks with a confident look. Earth gives out another sigh.

“Simple, get the armies of Rowien to help out.” Earth blurted out with a plain expression.

“How am I supposed to do that?” Zadia says in a frustrated voice. She was getting stressed at the fact she is basically preparing for war. She was only somewhat hopeful because she was placing all her hopes on Earth.

“Rowien has the best rangers in the world, which means they have the best scouts.” Earth cluing in Zadia who still remained confused.

“All you have to do basically, is convince them to send scouts to the east of their borders. Of course they won’t believe a little girl.” Earth grins. Zadia was thinking he had a something evil planned for her.

“That’s where the ring comes into play. When you activate the ring, it comes with a small surprise.” Earth gives a mischievous smile, which had cause Zadia to worry.

“Well, if I tell you now. It won’t be a surprise any more just know it lasts for 24 hours.” Earth says grinning.

“Wait? What happens please tell me?” Zadia pleads with her friendliest smile. She was annoyed having to suck up to Earth, but she realize she had no choice.

“I find more entertainment, watching you discover things on your own.” Earth ignores her pleads, as he moves onto the next topic.

“Oh, by the way they will arrive in about twelve weeks.” Earth smiles as he snaps his fingers.

“Wait!” Zadia shouts towards Earth as her vision starts to fade.

“Good luck. Partner.” Earths voice lingered in her head.
