Chapter 3: Training Results

‘Ching!!’      ‘Clink!’

Sparks flew and the sounds of swords clashing upon each other filled the room. Standing in the center of the room was Zadia and Julianne. Zadia had become a little older, the aura she gave was greater than before.

“Clink!”

Four years of training helped her developed stronger muscles, which allowed her to lift a sword easily and swing it swiftly. Her speed and stamina were also greater than before.

“Okay, that’s enough for today.” Julianne walked to one of weapon racks placing her sword there.

They had been training for six hours, but the only one that’s showing signs of exhaustion was Zadia. Zadias body was covered in sweat. Julianne on the other hand didn't sweat a drop.

[Damn, am I just that weak or is she just that strong]

Zadia wondered, as she placed her sword on the rack. Julianne pats her on the back, bringing her back to reality.

“Good job today. You’re getting better every day.” Julianne says with a prideful smile.

“I can’t tell.” Zadia says in frustration.

She has never been able to lay even a scratch on Julianne, no matter how much effort she puts into her training. It always ends with her being the only exhausted one.

“Tomorrow, we will be visiting a friend of mine, who works in a training hall, where his job is to train  kids around your age  to be knights.”

Zadia turns to Julianne with a slightly worry expression.

“I can’t even lay a scratch on you though…” Zadia says worrying

“Don’t worry. They wouldn't be much of a challenge for you…Oh I know! Just think of it as a quick warm up.” Julianne says confidently.

[How can she be so confident…tch… if only that brat had given me help, like super strength or something.]

Zadia drags her tired feet towards her bedroom. She collapses onto her bed passing out seconds later. This is how she ended most of her days, with solo practice in the morning and training with Julianne in the evening.

Zadia opened her eyes to a familiar scene, white floor and endless white space, filled with nothing like blank printing paper. There she sees a familiar boy with green hair and eyes.

“Hello!” The boy waves with a smile

“…” Zadia stares at him with an annoyed expression

“Hmm, what’s this? Aren't you happy to see me?” The boy crosses his arms.

“Yes… real glad…” Zadia says sarcastically

“That’s nice of you, I’m happy to hear that.” The boy says ignoring the sarcasm

“You never told me your name…” Zadia asks with curiosity in her voice.

“You never asked.” As he places a hand on his chin rubbing in it.

“So what is it?” Zadia eyes were focus on the boy.

“Hmm…lets’ see…you may call me…Earth!” The boy says with a mischievous smile.

“Are you just trying to annoy me?” Zadia grunted in frustration.

“Well, humans can’t hear our true names. Since they won’t be able to pick up our language.” Earth says.

“Well… why call yourself Earth?” Zadia says rubbing her head

“Simple what do you remember when, you remember your home on Earth?” Earth smiles

“Well…when I think about it every time I remember Earth. I remember my home, then I’m reminded of all the times I been bullied, robbed, and gone through depress- hey… wait a minute… you mean.” Zadia says with an annoyed look.

“The main purpose of this name is to remind you of all your past experiences, so every time we meet you will remember them, and every time you curse me you will remember them, you’re lucky I’m so thoughtful right?” Earth smiles brightly.

As Zadias face reddened in anger, Earth casually continues talking without paying her any attention.

“Any ways, I wanted to give you a quick heads up.”

“About what?” Zadia grunted

“You should really learn about the world you’re currently living in and learn their traditions too.”

“Why?”

“Hmm… you’re my partner, I can’t have you die on me… dead humans make poor partners.” Earth casually says as he stretches his arms.

“Wait… what do you mean? Am I going to die? How? When?” Zadia says in panic

“Well, you don’t have to worry about it for now, there’s still time.” Earth says in an uncaring tone.

“What are you talking about!? When is it!?’ Zadia shouts in frustration

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Well, good luck.” Earth waves with a smile as he disappears along with the scene around her, everything fades to black.

Zadia wakes up and sees Elda shaking her.

“Madam, you have to get ready.” Elda tells her, while pulling the sheet off.

[Damn him! He must enjoy this, that bastard.]

Zadia thought as she got up and headed to the bath. She washed herself head first and worked her way down. When she got out, Elda had already gotten her a new set of clothes.

“Madam, your mother is waiting for you downstairs.”

Elda mentions as Zadia dresses herself. Usually the maids would dress her but she protested strongly against it.

“What for?” Zadia asks with a confused face.

“She had mention she would take you to the Wing Knights training hall.”

[Oh, I remember now.]

Zadia walks out her room fully dressed and heads down the hall. She arrives at the stairs and sees Julianne standing in front of the entrance door. She runs down the stairs towards her.

“I’m ready to go.” Zadia smiles.

“Then lets’ head out.” Julianne marches outside with Zadia in tow.

They arrive at the training hall, throughout their entire walk here, Julianne and Zadia would receive Lustful glances. Julianne was immune to the constant staring but, Zadia on the other hand was feeling extremely uncomfortable.

[Damn creepy bastards. Why the hell are they staring for!? Damn perverts!]

Zadia had clenched her fists the entire time.

“Lets’ go in.” Julianne says grabbing Zadias hand as she walks in.

The building was filled with the sounds of swords clashing. The air smelled of sweat, and the hall was ten time bigger than the training ground at her house.

In the Center were twenty boys training in pairs, to every side where boys observing the fights. To the far left side up against the wall were ten training dummies being practiced on. As Julianne and Zadia walked in, some of the boys noticed them and started to whisper.

“Look, it’s a girl.” A boy whisper to his friend next to him.

More of them started notice the two and moments later. Zadia notice their sparring intensify, those who were sparring were now shouting with every swing. They even sweated more everyone seemed to suddenly train harder.

“HyaaaAH!!” They shouted as they swung at each other.

“1001!!1002!!1003!!” The boys hitting the training dummies started counting their swings out loud. The entire hall became lively.

[What has gotten them so worked up?]

Julianne steps behind Zadia and places both hands on her shoulders. Zadia glances upwards noticing her smile. Zadia gets a chill running through her spine.

“Whoever beats this girls gets to go on a date with her!” Julianne shouted, her voice cut through all the noise reaching every ones ears.

“Mother, what are you saying!?” Zadia responds

The hall became silent, everyone focused on Zadia.

[Theres no way these guys are into little girls, there may be a couple weirdoes’ but that’s it]

When she came to, she notice a long line of those who were training earlier combine with those that had happen to overhear from outside.

“Impossible…” Zadia says in shock

She could easily see there were over 20 of them. Zadia gets a gentle push to the center which was now clear.

“Good luck!” Julianne cheers her on before she leaves.

[Great, I can’t lose here…tch…I’ll slaughter them all] Zadia stares down a boy a little older than her, as he enters her line of sight.

Another boy by a weapon rack tosses both of them a sword. Zadia catches the sword easily.

“I’ll let you take a free swing” The boy says arrogantly

As he said that a second later, Zadia was already in mid-swing. The boy was caught off guard he didn’t know how she could appeared right next to him so fast, she closed the gap between them without him noticing.

“Argh…” the boy groans as he is sent flying several feet unconscious.

“Okay… Who’s next?” Zadia asks while looking around.

I'll like to give my thanks to anyone who has been able to read this far. I know it has a bit of a slow start, but I like it this way. I would like to rush it but it will end up not making any sense.

Well this reply is just a simple thank you.
